Beautiful!
Todd and Wendy went above and beyond! From the furnishings, decor, quality cookware, homemade cookies, awesome view, and easy communication, we couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay! We live a thousand miles away and traveled to Connecticut to visit or son. He is in the process of buying a house where we will stay in the future. I’m (almost) sorry that he will have room for us! We did threaten to sneak back in the summer to see Todd and Wendy’s yard in bloom!

Todd's place was spotless and perfect once again. Homemade cookies and fresh fruit were waiting for us, and the decor was interesting and reflecting the holidays. If you are looking for a welcoming, quiet place in the country, this is it!

Feels like home
The apartment was perfect, cute, and cozy! There were homemade cookies to welcome us, and thoughtful little written instructions to help figure out how everything works. It's a quiet retreat in the very scenic countryside.

Beautiful Setting Super Helpful Hosts
This property is located in a gorgeous area of Connecticut, a pleasure to explore. The owners will help make your stay a breeze and the gardens will provide a gorgeous vista all four seasons. Pool was a wonderful bonus for our summer stay. It was great to have a full kitchen, easy parking, a large bathroom, fast Wifi. The property is very high value for Fairfield County. Enjoy your stay!

Wonderful Stay!
Todd & Wendy were the most gracious hosts from the moment we arrived. There was even fresh apple crisp for our arrival! The apartment has everything you need and is impeccably well kept. The view of the gardens and pool are just beautiful. Todd is very responsive to any questions, or if you need anything during your stay.

Peace and quiet in CT's rolling southwestern hills
Wendy and Todd were incredibly gracious hosts. The afternoon we arrived, Wendy met us at our car before we even had a chance to open our car doors. She then led us into our apartment and spent 45 minutes explaining the working details of every wall switch (even though explicitly marked with labels), every kitchen appliance and every nuance inside the apartment. Our first names were even posted on a print-out on our front door. In the refrigerator when we arrived, there was a half-gallon of milk, a half-gallon of orange juice and a dozen fresh eggs. On the kitchen table were some crisp apples, a bunch of ripe bananas and a plate of fresh-baked oatmeal cookies. We could not have felt more welcome! Our small apartment was exactly as advertised on the HomeAway web site: a very nice, fully-equipped kitchen with appliances; a full bath with a large, newly-tiled walk-in shower, and an L-shaped room with our bed, two easy chairs, a dining table with chairs, a desk, and a high-def TV. A series of six glass windows overlooked the patio and in-ground pool, and a sliding door led to the pool deck and large propane grill. The apartment was immaculately clean. The premises were shared with a married couple and two, cute young girls who lived in the main house. The grounds and flower gardens were immaculately maintained. The owners spent their weekends - - and most weekday mornings and nights - - mowing the lawn, maintaining the in-ground pool, weeding flower gardens, watering plants and spreading mulch in their multiple gardens. Rarely a day passed when Todd didn’t ask if we needed anything, or if he could be of any help. The sad expression on his face indicated he was genuinely disappointed when we told him everything was fine and we didn’t need a thing. He really, really wanted to help any way he could, even when no help was needed. In short, Wendy and Todd could not have been better hosts.

Wendy and Todd have lived in Redding their whole married life. While raising 3 active boys, they made their property into a lovely, yet family friendly home. Wendy is an artist and her pottery and paintings are scattered throughout the house. We both enjoy hiking and bike riding and often take short bike trips around the area. We'd be happy to loan you our copy of 'Short Bike Rides in Connecticut' so you can go off exploring on your own.

Why they chose this property

Todd grew up in Redding and was happy to stay after he was married. It has a great small town atmosphere but is close to shopping areas and all sorts of sites and activities. Very nice be close to NYC and not to far from Boston. Every Sunday night in summer, there is a free concert on the green. Just bring your chairs and a picnic, and enjoy the music.

What makes this property unique

With pool and old tennis court you can stay home to relax or travel 5 minutes to great hiking, fishing and canoeing. ! hour from picturesque Kent Falls. 30 minutes from Candlewood lake. 55 minutes from lake Waramaug. All must see during the foliage season or covered in winter snow.
