DOWNTOWN AUSTIN SLEEPS 4-WALK TO 6thST- SXSW,ACL,Many Shops,Restaurants,Bars
Charming one bedroom apartment located within walking distance from the flagship and largest Whole Foods Market. Cozy coffee shop, bars and numerous restaurants are just a 5 minute walk from the house. 15-20 minute drive to the airport. Best place to stay for SXSW, ACL, Formula 1, XGAME and many more Austin events! One bedroom with Queen bed and one bathroom with hard wood floor. Full size futon in living room. We provide linen and towels. Enjoy a glass of wine or your coffee in backyard. Bus stop blocks away. Few minutes walk to Downtown, 5 minute walk to grocery store and restaurants. Cheap Uber/Lyft ride downtown. 15 minute drive to the airport (8 miles). 1 mile walk from shuttle to ACL or simply 1.3 mile walk to entry door at Zilker Park for ACL!
Biking is a very popular way to get around within Clarksville and the nearby areas. There are so many restaurants and attractions nearby, that for some Clarksville residents, walking is an easy way to get the area. If you prefer to ride the bus, Capital Metro Route 9 passes through Clarksville. The location of this vacation rental gets the best of both worlds -- a taste of urban living in a quiet, quaint and old neighborhood. Located in the center of the city and only a stone’s throw from downtown’s many attractions. The neighborhood is hip and is the home base for much of the city’s creative crowd (there are many art galleries in Clarksville), and it’s a very fun place for singles, couples and family.

The location is perfect for all things down town Austin. Stayed at this location of ACL music fest and it worked out the best. This is the perfect size place for two people. three would work but it would be tight. usable kitchen. good amount of space to hang out at the house as well.
Everything was perfect! Loved the area .. great restaurant and wine bar and bakery , and even ce cream literally right around the corner! And… Driveway parking was a bonus!
This rental was pretty much as advertised. Everything worked well and the bed was very comfortable. Two disappointments: the kitchen was not well equipped for meal prep at home and the shower needs a place for soap, shampoo and conditioner. Otherwise, the location was perfect. We love Austin.

The location was excellent. Simple things such as a spatula, containers, or aluminum foil weren't provided. Hit my head on the fire place mantle couple of times do to the layout. Contact the owner about the squirrels that ran around inside the walls and ceiling at night ever night. Sleeping was difficult because of the squirrels. Appears she was aware of the squirrels.Problem was not resolved by the time i left. Would look for different property next time.
The night we arrived, the apartment was cold and dark. Light bulbs were missing from a couple of the lamps and the rug in the bathroom was dirty. Mireille responded quickly, sending us a new lamp and bath mat, and eventually explaining to us how the new heaters worked. It would have been helpful to have that information in advance. Over the next few days, we became more comfortable and particularly appreciated the excellent shower and comfortable bed. Overall, tho, the apartment felt slightly neglected. Not as nicely kept as shown in photos. It could benefit from a clean-out of rickety furniture, lamps and old appliances. On the positive side, Mireille was quick to respond and patient with us

If sleep is important, do NOT stay here. The bed was so uncomfortable we were not able to sleep. It was so bad we ended up vacating the property after only one night and got a room elsewhere. Upon complaint to the host, the host replied that she’d be getting a new bed. Before you stay here, I’d confirm that she did so after our stay in April, 2023… get it in writing.
My friends and I took a trip to Austin for the weekend and this place could not have been more ideal. Great accommodations, cleanly and the location was perfect. It was within walking distance of 6th street and other really fun coffee shops, restaurants, shopping, etc.! I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a place to stay in Austin at a reasonable price. Thanks to our wonderful host who had timely communication and was extremely helpful in the process.
I stayed at this Unit for a week for work recording a music project. It had everything needed for a pleasant stay. There were some items missing and the owner took care for it immediately! A few things to note... the towels need to be replaced, they were old, very thin & smelt like mildew. There are 3 units to this house & a shared parking driveway. There is heavy construction across the street and in the area that starts at 7:00AM - 7:00PM. After being there for 4 days, the renters above came in late and were 5 young college age guys. The walls are thin and you can hear all conversations, laughter, etc. They were loud & up all night. The owner was notified, she spoke to the renters, but continued to party all night. I was very sleep deprived for 2 days, which was not good when you are working all day in a recording studio. I would give this rental 3 Stars.
This place was lovely! The host was super responsive to all my questions and helpful. I stayed with my pup and he enjoyed the fenced in yard. Only slight issue was that the water pressure in the shower was very low but this could have been a random issue. Would 100% stay here again!
This spot is great for anyone looking to stay within walking distance of downtown. It's an older property but has a great cozy feel that makes up for any glitches that may arise. Highly recommend for an Austin staycation or a couple looking to be close to the great city of Austin! I'd stay again, no doubt.
Classic Austin apartment. Nice back yard, decent accommodations, all the basics you need. Nice little front porch. Would stay here again. Great neighborhood, great location.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Functional for short visit
Location was a little further than I anticipated from ACL but was able to Uber around. Parking was limited, fortunately we were able to find a spot on the street that wasn’t in a tow away zone .

Great Location all it has going for it.
The photos are misleading. The apartment is in need of upkeep. Due to the yard not being maintained (trees, grass, shrubs) you need Mosquito repellent to get in the front door or be in the back. The backyard needs the fence pickets nailed back up and the patio swept and cleaned. I paid a pet deposit so my sons dog could visit but wasn't able to use the backyard or patio. No lights work in the backyard security or backdoor light. The shared washer and dryer were broke from the first day I arrive. The apartment’s insulation is so poor I was able to hear the people in the upstairs apartment turn over in bead and walk around. The last weekend I stayed the upstairs apartment was rented to 4 or 5 young men who love throwing a football and soccer ball, which was extremely noisy at seven in the morning. The hide-abed couch in the main room is broke and almost impossible to set on due to the cushions being lower than the couch frame. I cut my cheek on ragged edge of metal on the showerhead. I turned down the bed a couple of evenings to red ticks in the bed. Wasn't able to wash the sheets due to the broken washer. The location isn’t enough to offset the problems.

Great location.
The bed needs to be replaced. Very soft and uncomfortable. I had to sleep on the couch and that wasn't the best either but better than the bed. Loved the location. Close to great restaurants...went to 24 diner 3 times. The parking can be an issue. Would be nice to offer a parking permit if street parking is needed. There was a lot of construction very close by so sleeping in wasn't possible.

For the price and location the rental is a no-frills, as-advertised, decent alternative.

location is the only real positive
I'll start with the positive and that's that this unit put me within walking distance to where I wanted to be. Easy walking access to Whole Foods Market, Book People, and Ladybird Lake.
That being said, the street was poorly lit, if at all, so I didn't feel safe walking alone at night. The picture of the unit misrepresents the age and condition of it. I didn't recognize it when I pulled up.
When I walked in, I was hit with a terrible musty / moldy odor that was partially due to the fact that the a/c unit had been turned off (in August in Austin.) The smell was marginally better once I turned it on for a few hours but the a/c return vent was so utterly covered in dust that I probably did myself a disservice by using the unit. Anyone with allergies or asthma should definitely steer clear of this unit.
The property, despite being old, was clean.
Every step and creak that anyone makes in the unit above this floor unit can be heard, so I was awakened in the middle of the night when the upstairs tenants returned home.
For the amount I paid, I could have stayed in a very nice room in a hotel in Austin.
I only used the microwave, but from what I could tell, the kitchen was only minimally stocked.

Great location in older home
The home is an older home and the floors do creak in spots. The place was very clean The lighting in the kitchen is on the dim side. The bathroom is small, but the shower is large. There is no dresser, but there is a closet with hangers. Due to the daily rain the backyard was muddy do we did not use the covered patio. We would rent again.
The 24 Diner nearby was fantastic! Whole Foods mothership is also close and is an experience. Love going there

This place is misleading
Not only is much of the information in the ad inaccurate, they have never responded to us after the first night about the dog. There is no private backyard. You share the backyard with two other tenants and their dog, which barks regularly and has many playtoys. The tenants upstairs have two kids. You will hear them walking, running, talking, and turning in their bed. The place is very old and squeaks everywhere. I see a previous reviewer mentioned this as well and was very kind to mention this as reminiscent of older home charm, but we can't agree. Doorknobs came off and doors don't shut correctly or won't stay open. The floors are so uneven that most of the chairs and table wobble. You can't eat at the table comfortably. The lighting is extremely dim in the bedroom and kitchen, and there is only bright fluorescent in the living/dining room. The bathroom has extremely limited space. They tried to tell us no dogs live there when we called about the noise. They said they called the other tenants, but nothing happened in terms of trying to get the noise to stop. We contacted them afterward to discuss our stay and they have yet to respond, after nearly a month. The location is decent, but this is one of the worst places we've ever stayed. Worst VRBO ever, worse than a $35 hotel. It has potential, and the owner does offer a bottle of wine and has a few nice touches in the place, but we feel they think location is worth a horrible visit that they claim is to be relaxing. And if they would have just taken the time to discuss this matter with us afterward, perhaps we could recommend this place, but they apparently don't care. Put your money and time anywhere else.

Disappointing
I had read the positive reviews before renting and am surprised what I experienced was so different. There were issues with noise, plumbing and bugs. We stayed in the downstairs unit and you could hear the upstairs renters as they walked across the room. The renter next door has a dog and there is evidence of the fact in the backyard. Someone upstairs took a bath and water was pouring out of our kitchen ceiling. Found a large bug (cockroach) laying dead next to the bed. The sheets are very worn. The location was excellent and very walkable but I would not recommend this property.

I am French Canadian, I traveled the world and love to make people feel like home! I moved to the Austin area in 2012 from Seattle and I absolutely love the Texas sunshine. My favorite travel destination was Anguilla for the beaches, the people and how relax life was out there! I am a big fan of healthy food and having a healthy lifestyle for myself and my family. As a host, I will always do my best to respond to your request and make you the happiest guest! I do not live on premise, I am on a ranch North of the city, but you can reach me anytime. Bon Voyage!
Why they chose this property
Fantastic location and it has a lot of character.
What makes this property unique
Swing on the front porch and the large fenced backyard is great! Enjoy Austin weather with a glass of wine in your backyard. Able to walk to some of Austin biggest events, ACL, SXSW, Formula 1 or walk to 6th Street!
