About this property
Cozy riverside getaway w/ artist studio. Pet friendly!
*We will be traveling 2/21/24 - 5/6/24 and are looking to rent our place the entire time. We are open to as little as one month rented or pro-rated beyond that. Priority will be given to those who can rent it for all or the greatest amount of time. Reach out and let us know the dates you are seeking.*
Enjoy the tranquility of life on the Medomak River nestled in this cozy newly-renovated 19th Century home in midcoast Maine. Perfect for a creative getaway. High-speed wifi and an inspiring place to do work. Breathtaking coastal hikes around the region's island-studded peninsulas are short drives away.
Lots of room for a whole family (stocked with a selection of children’s books, art supplies, and toys) looking to hunker down and enjoy the endlessly relaxing view of the river from a light-drenched sun room.
There is a spacious patio tucked away in the back of the house facing the gentle flow and waterfalls of the Medomak River, equipped with an outdoor couch, table and chairs, and firepit to circle round on cool afternoons or cold nights under the moonlight.
This is our home and it is important for us to make sure you feel welcome. The house features a modern kitchen you’ll find fully outfitted for any of your cooking or baking needs. Next to the sunroom is the cozy moonroom, complete with fireplace, turntable and selection of vinyl to enjoy a glass of wine with at the end of the night.
Upstairs is a primary with a king-sized bed and 2nd bedroom with a full-size bed. Up there is also a full bath with tub upstairs and laundry room. Another bathroom / shower on the first floor, as well as a third bedroom in a finished basement adjacent to media room with Nordictrack stationary bike.
Our favorite part of our home is the top of our nineteenth century attached barn that we renovated into a creative space where you can make art, do yoga, or take meetings in privacy.
You'll be away from the hustle and bustle but not remote in the historic village of Waldoboro: Only a 5-minute walk from Perch, a super sweet, LGTBQ friendly coffee shop; Ida’s, hipster wine bar with rotating chef pop up dinners; and the historic Waldo Theatre with excellent bookings and acts coming through town. 15-minute walk to brewery and wood-fired pizza. 15 minutes to organic food supermarket and the ultra-quaint seaside town of Damariscotta. 25 minutes to the noteworthy museums and restaurants of Rockland and the same distance to more seaside ultra-quaintness in Camden and Rockport. Portland airport and city is an hour and ten minutes.
We have many cherished plants in our home and they do need once a week watering care (a few need twice a week) we are happy to offer a discount on the rent of $100 a month if you are interested and able to water our plants. If you don’t have a green thumb, that’s totally okay! We will have someone stop by once a week and will coordinate with you to have them come for the ~15 minutes it takes to water them all.
Utilities including hi-speed internet included. Driveway is short, but if you don't want to shovel it we have a friendly neighbor with a plow truck who will make quick work of it for $20.
Any questions, just ask!
ABOUT THIS LISTER
We are two psychotherapists and former NYC'ers who moved closer to family when we had our little one a few years ago. We will be living out a longstanding dream of spending a spring in the south of France while you are here but will be connected and there for you should you need anything.
