Perfect stay for a couple and a pup!

Beverly was an amazing host (and artist). The condo was a quick drive to the state park where our friends were camping which was perfect. After a long day of lake-ing it was wonderful to be able to give our dog a bath, hose down all our stuff, and cook outdoors while watching the wildlife. 10/10!

Peace and quiet!

We had a very peaceful and relaxing weekend . The space was very clean and comfortable. Beverly was very kind and got right back to us when we had an issue getting in the apartment. The short walk to the lake made for enjoyable morning coffee and bird watching. Me enjoyed the deer who visited frequently too! Overall a great experience!

Enjoyed our stay

We enjoyed our stay at smith mountain lake. Property was just as described - clean, appliances/grill/amenities all in good condition. Walk to the dock through the path in the woods was easy. They had laid down hay which was helpful since the rain made things a bit soggy. We brought our boat and spent most of the day on the lake - was just the kind of place we needed to have a place to go back to sleep and cook. Would rent again. Thanks Beverly!

Great stay

Overall great little spot. Parking is a bit tight for a longer boat but as long as it’s not your first time backing a boat/trailer you’ll be fine. Would recommend staying here. Less than 5 minutes to the state park boat ramp

Cottage rental

The cottage is tiny. Clean but set up for small(short) people. The lake is only viewable from a tiny opening in the trees distant. Walkway to the lake and shared dock is terrible. Muddy and wet and debris. If your going to see the lake you don’t want to go here.

cozy quiet apartment

Very quiet, clean, and cozy place to spend a few days at the lake. a short walk to the water and a short drive to local restaurants/stores. a few tips: 1. check for ticks as there are many deer and bunnies around the premises/neighborhood yards. I found a tiny one on me and a large one on my dog. 2. don't leave items unattended on the dock as it's shared and others can mistakenly or intentionally take your flip flops or towels ;) though they ended up being returned when asked. FYI - The power goes out during storms or when running 2+ appliances at same time. And trash has to be taken to a designated dump site. The heat lamp in the bathroom was really great to help dry wet clothes. The bed was very comfortable and having Roku TV was nice. There is no kitchen sink/dishwasher so having paper plates and plastic utensils was great. Overall a good and relaxing stay for 2.

Nice place, good for kayaking.

No kitchen sink, so cooking is a challenge. TV screen so small, almost impossible to watch sports. For the money they should upsize.

Excellent stay

Natures retreat was excellent. It was perfect for what we needed. We brought our boat and the dock was perfect. As described it was a short walk to the dock and it had a little kitchenette that worked for us. There is a nice propane grill that we used as well. When we weren’t on the boat we enjoyed seeing all the nature from the back patio. We enjoyed a peaceful stay and I highly recommend nature’s retreat.

Mini Vacation

The property was very peaceful and we really enjoyed all the wildlife. Apartment was great and had everything we needed for the 3 night stay. My girls really enjoyed the kayaks and the private cove was perfect. Description on the posting was very accurate, nothing was misleading. Beverly was also a great host checking in to make sure we always had anything we needed. Would definitely recommend and would return again.
