Overall we loved the place. The beds slept great even the sofa bed. They had a nice thick memory foam for it. The grounds were beautiful and we had a garage to pull into to get out of the weather. The only complaint one of the girls had was the shower was not for big girls. It was a tight squeeze but we totally enjoyed it and will rebook in warmer weather.
the place is so cozy, has all the amenities that one would need, out in the country yet near the big city, quiet, and a lovely home. they thought of everything!

Disliked: Listing accuracy
Disappointing Property, Lacking Value for Money
I recently stayed at this property, and unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations in several key areas.
First, the home furnishings were very limited, with no side or end tables in the living room and no lamps except for one standing lamp in one of the two bedrooms. All lighting was overhead lights. Well-used furniture throughout, including mattresses with flimsy pillows, an outdoor wooden porch riddled with splinters, and a screen door full of hole patches. I was hoping for a more well-appointed and comfortable environment, but I found the furniture to be quite used and not reflective of the price point.
Second, the landscape around the property was unappealing and overgrown, including a pile of dirt near the front door entryway. The outdoor space lacked tidiness and seemed neglected.
A pick-up truck and two vehicles were parked along the driveway, making it challenging to get in and out of the garage and down the driveway without hitting the pickup truck and/or the pile of dirt dumped in front of it.
Lastly, the listing's description of the travel time to Washington, DC, was misleading. It took significantly longer to reach the city than advertised, which will be at least 1 hour but or more.
In conclusion, this property did not offer good value for money. The limited and well-used furnishings, unkempt landscape, and inaccurate travel time information were disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this property.
The inside of the cottage was very clean. The bathroom towels are like blankets! SO nice! The kitchen is decent (with a little coffee/tea bar and fresh eggs in the refrigerator!!), the living room is spacious and the beds are very comfortable. My only issue with the interior was there was no place to put the luggage in the bedrooms. I had to put my suitcase on the floor and kept having to bend down to get things out of it. It would be nice to have a luggage rack or a small dresser in each room. But that little inconvenience is no reason not to stay here.
While the inside of the cottage is nice with lots of windows, the outside is like being in a park. There’s a screened in porch on the back of the house that overlooks a large yard that ends in a pond. There’s a little gazebo in front of the pond. it was so beautiful out there on the one sunny day we had while we were there. My family and I truly enjoyed just sitting out there visiting with each other. It must be absolutely stunning in the fall.
Shauna, the owner, lives in a house on the property and is very available and responsive. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to go back one day.
We were very happy with the cottage, location, and surroundings. Though you are close to major highways, making it very accessible, you are just far away from the heavy traffic and noise of urban life to allow for a quiet, relaxing environment.
My favorite area of the house was the kitchen and dining nook. The window overlooks the pond and we enjoyed watching the ducks and geese. When we sat outside, in the screened in porch, we could hear the songbirds and cattle. We also liked hearing the rooster in the morning. (Surprisingly, this was not audible inside, so no worries for those who like to sleep in later than the rooster does!)
There were plenty of towels and paper products. We found the beds comfortable. If you need a darkened room for sleep, I suggest bringing a sleep mask. I liked the light coming into the room in the morning, so it wasn't an issue for me.
We walked around the outside of the cottage a little bit but we didn't happen to be home when the animals were being bedded down for the night. This is something the owner made available to us, and I would love to visit the animals on another stay.
I recommend the property for all of these reasons!
