Spacious, 3200 square foot, 3 level, mountain home located between Brighton and Solitude ski resorts, less than 1 mile to each. It's secluded location near the top of the canyon provides unbeatable mountain views from inside the house or from the private, 6 person out door hot tub.
The house features Wi-Fi, Smart TV, a large kitchen, 2 living rooms with wood burning fire place, 5 bedrooms ( 1king, 3 queens, 1 double), 2-1/2 bathrooms, large basement with bunk beds and queen pull out. A gas grill is located on the deck.
This property is not wheelchair/handicap accessible. The entrance to the cabin is approximately 130 feet from the parking lot via a backed down snow trial. BE READY! This can be challenging in the winter with luggage and groceries! We recommend you do not rent this cabin if you feel anyone in your group needs easy access. Someone will be there to meet you on your arrival.
Four wheel drive vehicles are mandatory for this property in the winter and Canyon Patrol will not let you up the canyon during a snowstorm without it. All-wheel drive vehicles such as a Ford Edge will not get you up the driveway! The parking area will accommodate 4 cars maximum, 3 larger vehicles/trucks. There is no parking on the road or in the neighbors parking areas.
Snow removal for the driveway and parking area are provided by a local service. They will not remove snow for totals less than 4-6 inches. Renters are responsible for snow removal around the hot tub and path to the parking area. For larger snow totals someone will be up to shovel, but will not be immediately available. It can be a challenge getting out in the morning after a big storm.

Excellent Stay!

We very much enjoyed our stay at George’s Cabin. It was wonderful. We had 4 adults and 3 kids and had plenty of room. We were not on top of each other at all. The house is older but it’s kept clean and well attended to. The WiFi was super fast and reliable. The hosts were readily available and made check in and any questions a breeze to sort. The walk up to the house is dicey but doable! The location is the best part. One min drive to Brighton and 2 to solitude. Super ideal!! I would definitely recommend!

Wonderful House + Location

The George Cabin is a gift! We enjoyed a mini family reunion during a very snowy week and loved every moment. Communication with hosts was terrific and they have thought of everything for visitors. Kitchen is stocked, as is the game closet and wood storage area. It was the perfect house for kids to grandparents. Lots of hot water, towels etc. Driveway can be tricky depending on the snow conditions, but our Subaru + Expedition handled it well. The neighbors we encountered were all super nice. Highly recommend and would love to come back in warm weather!

Annual Ski Trip

We had a wonderful time. The space is well laid out and we were easily able to fit 4 adult couples and a baby. The pictures don’t do it justice, this is a beautiful property. We walked to Brighton one day (though a bit of a walk), and drove to Solitude. 4WD is a must (as the owner told us before).

Great experience!

Dale and Sean were communicative and responded quickly to any questions we had. Hot tub was amazing, beds were comfortable, water pressure was good, hot water was plentiful. One of the best equipped kitchens we've ever seen in a VRBO. Perfect place for 10 skiers, including 6 kids aged 9-17. We will be back!

Brighton Ski Vacation

Everything you need and more

We loved this place! It’s big and has plenty of social lounging areas, kitchen is good sized, and the hot tub is so nice. The shower water pressure is strong, fireplace worked well, and the kitchen is the best stocked rental property we’ve ever seen! Plenty of towels for showers and hot tub, never ran out of hot water for 12 ppl showering, washer/dryer are great too. Sean and Dale George (hosts) we’re so lovely to work with. They’re very accessible and helpful with everything, and so so nice. The driveway is something fierce but certainly doable with 4WD. We were there with blizzard conditions so did some shoveling ourselves from the driveway to the house and also to the hot tub, though Sean (the host) offered to have someone come help us which was a lovely offer but we managed it just fine. A ton of shovels are provided, and there’s an extra room to store all your ski gear on the first floor. All in all, we had an amazing time and would definitely stay here again!

Great cabin, great location

Wonderfully accommodative and comfortable cabin, close (walkable) to Brighton and Solitude. We skied all day, made fires, cooked, listened to music, and relaxed in the hot tub. Importantly, slept comfortable. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Ski Cabin

This cabin was fantastic for our group’s ski trip. Incredible layout, very comfortable and nicely stocked with everything you need. Both Sean and Dale were great and made communication, and the stay super easy. Easily one of the best rental experiences ever had. Hope we can come again!

Charming and a Great Location

My party and I were blown away by how unique and appealing this property was. A perfect getaway for a group of skiers looking to unwind, hottub, cook and play games after a long day of skiing. This was hands down one of my favorite VRBO stays I've experienced. The house had everything we needed, the owner had excellent communication and all I can say is I wish I was still there looking upon the canyon out the front windows, sipping on my morning coffee.

Quality people

In all of my years of renting, different things stand out with the various properties. With this location, it has to be the quality of the people from which you are renting. It felt like we were coming home to our own ski lodge for Christmas. We were a 3 generation family, with an age range from 13 to 78 year old Grandma. Very well stocked, an unbelievable amount of dry firewood, perfectly working hot tub, and a great place to make memories. Perfectly located between Brighton and Solitude, we skied both with ease. We felt like we were the only ones in the Wasatch Mountains. Honestly, we wouldn’t change a thing. Tons of character and one of the places we will remember forever. It is obvious that this place is loved by the George family, with Sean and Dale in touch to make sure everything was perfect. This is one of those places that makes us incredibly thankful that a family shares a piece of themselves. Thank you, George Family, for the the memories you have given our family.

Fun family vacation

Second time staying here. The property is so family friendly and close to solitude and Brighton. Gorgeous views and the owners have tons of movies and games for our use. They were very accommodating to our needs.

The Perfect Ski Base for the Cottonwoods

Dale was an incredible host. We had 5 professional males on a ski trip. The house was the perfect size. We had plenty of room to cook, eat, chill and enjoy the unbelievable views. 4x4 is required in the winter. The hot tub was perfect for apres ski, and it was incredibly peaceful. If we had a question about anything, Dale responded immediately. Canyons got 13 inches, and we were 1 mile from $5 parking at Solitude (lot 2 with 3+ passengers get discount) for the day. Cannot wait to return. George Cabin checks all the boxes!

Memorable Stay!

What a magical week we had staying in the George cabin! Not only was the location beyond ideal, but the cabin was cozy, comfortable and equipped with everything needed ... all with the most magnificent views! Great Stay in Brighton

This house was just what we were looking for 1) accommodates a big group 2) out of the city and into the canyon 3) great view and place to lounge close to both Brighton and Solitude ski resort 4) Dale was very helpful getting us situated I don’t think the pictures on the site do the cabin justice, highly recommend staying here.

Large house and Close to Solitude

We enjoyed our stay. Very spacious and comfortable. 5 bedrooms with queen or king beds, downstairs has 2 bunk beds and a pullout couch and a large sectional couch on main floor that could sleep 2 maybe 3 more kids so the house can accommodate a lot of people and parties with different configurations. Bathrooms on all 3 kevels. 5 minutes from solitude and brighton. Parking might be challenging in winter if you have more than 2 cars but still doable. Good place to stay!

Ski trip

Perfect ski cabin for multiple families

Dale and Sean are great communicators, you couldn't ask for better hosts. The location is great for a ski trip it's a quick drive to Brighton and Solitude, most days we left 1/2 hour before opening and had no problem with parking. We had 4 kids ranging in age from 9-12 and in the evenings they were so occupied with building a sledding track, having Foosball championships, and winding down with a movie they were never bored. The 4 adults made food, hot-tubbed, and relaxed by the fire while chatting, reading and just enjoying the beautiful views. The cabin is a treasure, we're thankful the George family shares it and we hope to visit again soon.
