Jason was the best host...we sat and talked about art and life...he showed us his gallery in his home. Super cute and well worth the stay if you are wanting a authentic Santa Fe stay. What a great time!
Jason is a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed! We loved having coffee on the patio and experiencing his beautiful art.. and now his Serenity piece lives with us! Thank you, Jason, for a lovely stay in Santa Fe!
A delightful stay. Great art, and a very well provisioned space. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a nice quiet place to stay while visiting Santa Fe.
I really felt comfortable in this home-like environment. It was clean AND quiet. The location was convenient to everything I had planned. It was cool having the chance to look at all the artwork, too. It had a washer/dryer close to the bedroom and bath, as well. I would absolutely stay again when I'm in Santa Fe.
If you are looking for something close to main highways and downtown Sante Fe, safe, quiet and affordable for a few days, this place is for you. Located in a residential area that is close to a community center with pickleball, pool, handball and other exercise activities, walking trails nearby and coffee house within walking distance. The queen size bed was heavenly comfortable. The room is big enough for 2 adults only. Mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven, sink, private bathroom and shower/tub. Excellent Wi-Fi, no TV. Be ideal as a place to sleep and rest after touring the surrounding area. Outdoor patio area in the back yard to sit and relax. We enjoyed meeting the host and Wylie the Kitty cat. Saw his studio of his artwork. Overall, I would recommend.
Jason was very kind and hospitable and seems to be doing the best he can to provide a nice stay for his guests. Safe, quiet neighborhood, comfortable bed. This would be a great, affordable option for some people. I, personally, was not comfortable with not being able to lock the door that opens from the guest space directly into the studio/living space of the host. Occasional noise from the living space also kept me from relaxing, including the middle of the night one night, which led me to shorten my stay. As to the review about a cat odor, the night there was a thunderstorm the air in the bedroom became so thick with the smell of cat urine it made my throat hurt, but on the dry days I didn't smell anything. There is no place for food preparation, and the mini fridge is tiny with no freezer, but there are so many great restaurants in Santa Fe.

Disliked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Not as described. Broken bed.
We noticed after an awful night of uncomfortable sleep that the bed frame was broken. When we informed the owner he said that he knew that the bed frame was broken. We let him know that we would not be staying the second night due to the broken bed. We'd appreciate a refund for the 2nd night.
Randy's Ruse: Cat Urine, Chaos, Cramped, and Cluttered
A strong odor of cat urine greeted us when we entered this rental.
When I told host John about the odor, both of his personal front/back doors were open with a strong breeze & I smelled the same odor despite the fresh air. He apologized & we agreed on a refund based on the amount of days he could rent it out for the 7 days we booked. We shook hands, agreeing that he would refund at least half of the $500+ we paid & he would quickly relist the space for rent.
All that was a lie. He rented it out or made it unavailable for those days according to Vrbo agents on 4 calls but denied this by text for 3 days until stating he was not refunding us. He can lie about this but why text for 3 days if no agreement?
The space is quite cramped. The bed takes up the entire room, & the floor air conditioner takes up ½ the closet. The small bathroom is cluttered with "free products" that he proudly provides which consists of half-used bottles of lotions, etc
There is no TV. I carry a Roku when traveling and figured I could get a TV cheap off of CL or FBMP for our stay but we just couldn't stand the smell.
He also messaged my wife & called me a liar who wanted out due to no TV. She said she smelled it too but no reply. He said friends said the space was odor free. If true, I’m sure he 1st aired out the space and used deodorants to temporarily mask the stink.
Also, don’t be deceived by the interior studio photos -- that is not part of the tiny rental area.
