The property manager, Efi, was in full contact from the start till the end of our stay. She suggested restaurants which were excellent. The town was beautiful. The view from the secons story deck is breathtaking. The house is nice, clean, and stocked with all the things you would need to cook with
We very much enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. Efi was wonderful about communicating with us, and she also personally took us to the beach and grocery store . Relaxing in this contemporary home and enjoying the beautiful view was a highlight of our trip.
If you stay here, which I highly recommend, having your own car would be helpful because it was difficult at times obtaining a taxi. We had to ask for Efi’s help with this at times.
We stayed here for 2 weeks with our children aged 8 and 12. The property has everything you could wish for, spotlessly clean, comfortable furniture and beds, air con throughout, a fully equipped kitchen and a large swimming pool to cool off in.
The pool and sun loungers are accessed from the master bedroom down a short external staircase which was no problem for us. Due to the orientation of the building the pool gets shade from about lunchtime onwards which is great as it stops the kids getting sunburnt when they refuse to get out and have cream on. Elsewhere outside there are other areas which get the sun up until early evening for those who want to sunbathe.
There are large balconies on the ground and upper floor to enjoy the views from which are stunning. Get up early and catch the sun rise which is amazing!
Porto Rafti is a lovely area, perfect if, like us you’re looking for a peaceful traditional village without noisy bars. You can visit Athens very easily from Porto Rafti, 25 mins drive to the metro station, park for free and get the train into the city centre. We went on a Sunday and watched the changing of the guard ceremony in front of the parliament building which is not to be missed. Then you can choose from many different museums and of course The Acropolis. We also drove down to Poseidon’s Temple, 35-40 mins, which is stunning. There’s a great water park for the kids 20-25 mins drive. It’s definitely worth hiring a car as there’s so much to visit.
Efi our host was very helpful throughout. For us this was the holiday that almost never happened due to COVID-19. Efi was very understanding allowing us to move the booking dates and providing updates on the situation in Greece and I’m so thankful we eventually got to go. Nothing was too much trouble for Efi, even offering to do laundry for us, something we’ve never been offered before!
You will not be disappointed!
We very much enjoyed our time in Porto Rafti and Efi was an excellent host. The views of the bay really are wonderful and the house was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Efi replied very promptly to all our questions, both before our arrival and during our stay. We stayed two weeks and Efi offered more clean sheets and towels after a week and also did laundry for us several times, which was much appreciated. There are a couple of grocery stores in the middle of town, but we preferred to shop at Lidl, about 2km from the house. Our 3-year old daughter loved the pool and it was a lifesaver during the very hot August weather (highs of 90-100 F most afternoons). Despite the heat, we could keep the house comfortable, with air-conditioning or shutters to block out the sun. A car is essential for getting around town and going on trips. We took the metro into Athens once (parking our car at Koropi, about 10km away) but we preferred to drive into Athens on weekends, when the traffic is lighter and valet parking garages inexpensive (even near the Acropolis, about 10 Euro for the day). Efi recommended a couple of restaurants to us (Dimitris Taverna and Prima Plora) that we really liked, and suggested good beach locations and local sights (Souniou and the Temple of Poseidon). The house is well furnished and very quiet. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked many enjoyable meals at home.

Slightly disappointing
This is not a seaside pool villa - yes you can see the sea from the balcony in the distance but it is located on a very steep incline away from a small strip of sand 500 yards down a hill. It is a 3 level maisonette with no access to the pool from the ground floor. The only way to access the pool was through the bedrooms onto a balcony and there you have two sets of steps to go down - the second set with no hand rails at all. The pool is deep, and cold as its in the shade for most of the day. There are no bannisters on the inside staircase from the ground floor bedrooms to the second floor living area. This could be hazardous for young children and grandparents - there was no mention of so many steps in the description - this should be noted if you are unable to use steps.
The view however is beautiful from the living room, and the kitchen is well equipped. There is only one small shower in the master bedroom. The wardrobes/drawers still had items in them belonging to the owner - you would expect them to be empty. There was no welcome pack on arrival with any information - however the owner did give us some information which was jotted down on a piece of paper.
We have stayed in many different types of accommodation previously but unfortunately this one overall was quite disappointing, due to the misleading description.
The property is modern, well equipped and has excellent views over the sea. You can walk to some shops and restaurants in about 10 minutes, although it is a steep uphill climb coming back. The local beaches are pebbles but there is a really nice sand beach 10 minutes drive away. The property manager Efi was very helpful. The only downside is that the swimming pool is on the side of the villa and so only gets the sun in the morning , it is in shadow from about midday onwards

Groot huis met mooi uitzicht
Net huis.
The house is amazing - incredible pool, tremendous location, and breathtaking views! Efi was truly super in her pre-stay communications, she was there when we arrived with special welcome treats, she provided helpful recommendations for restaurants and beaches, and she was an incredible host. If you are looking for a fabulous house close to beaches, close to the Athens airport, close to restaurants, and 40 minutes or so to Cape Sounio, downtown Athens, etc., THIS is it! Thank you, Efi, for an unforgettable vacation!
As architects, my wife and I appreciated the design of the place. The sunrise was amazing from the master bedroom. We were able to walk to a great restaurant at night and Efi had provided a lot of good stuff for breakfast. Efi was great hostess, meeting us at the property and guiding us in and helping us with arranging a ride to the airport. The pool was great to take a dip in at night. One issue we had that was not positive we’re the neighbors pack of dogs, and we love dogs, but they barked a lot during the night.
Loved this villa right beside the sea.
Efi was so helpful

Great and clean apartement with perfect view!
The apartment was very big, with a beautifull view. The family who runs the apartment is very kind. Our kids had a great time in the swimming pool, together with their son and daugther. When we arrived breakfast was ready which was very kind. Porto Rifta has not too many tourists so for us it was a great place to get some rest after the intensive tour at Athens. Must see!

Beautiful view! Lovely apartment! Gracious host!
The apartment was a little hard to find but worth the trouble. It was modern, attractive and spacious and had a lovely balcony with a beautiful view of the sea. Efi left us lots of food and made sure we were comfortable. It’s very close to the airport so it was a quick trip when the holiday was over.

Nice vacation in Porto Rafti
The house was very clean, with a wonderfull view over the bay of Porto Rafti. This is a rather new area in Greece, which is clean has nice sandy beaches and almost no foreign tourists. Efi was very friendly and helpfull for any questions. You surely need a car to go to the beach, shops etc .. not because they are far away, but climbing to the house in hot summer is like going dead three times before you reach it :-) . You can visit Athens very easy, by Metro. Good food in the area, Efi sure knows which ones to visit first. We cooked ourselves two times in the week we were there, which is also no problem, all the equipment is present. You also have nice balconies. And Airco is present everywere in the house. In one room one bed is a little bit small for a grown up. So if you are with six adults, one better sleeps in the living room.

Wonderful!
The combination of this property's features, location, Efi's dedication and weather made our stay wonderful.
1. Property location. You can walk to the nearest beach, but it is best to have a car as it gives you freedom to choose the beach to your liking or on a windy day. There is one paid beach (sandy), all other beaches in vicinity are free (with rocks or pebbles). I like rocky beaches, the kids loved the sandy one. Don't limit your sightseeing to Athens just because it is close by, we had great time traveling further away to places like Poseidon's Temple, Korinth, Epidauros Theater. Perhaps you get to discover quiet, secluded beaches as we did near some of these places!
2. Property features. No problems with parking. All bedrooms and 2 full baths downstairs, each room with its own AC unit. Kitchen, dining area, half bath and living room upstairs, with an AC unit near the kitchen. The view from the top floor is astonishing, also make sure to catch at least one sunrise - have your camera ready! The terrace is looking east into the bay and is a great spot for any meal. The property does not have a washing machine, but it turned out to be an advantage.
3. Efi. Her dedication was fantastic, she was always available to help. For longer stays like ours (17 days), she offered to do the laundry for us. You don't normally get this type of service in vacation rentals.
4. Weather. Sunny with lovely dry heat, quite different from downtown Athens. With a breeze from the sea, we stopped using the AC unit upstairs.

An amazing home in a beautiful town
This home was amazing and the town is just as lovely. We added people at the last minute and Efi kindly accommodated the change with no complaints. The home has a breathtaking view and great amenities. We ended up as a party of 7 and every single one of us said that the few days at this home before departing on a 10 day cruise was one of the highlights of the trip. Efi arranged transportation for us multiple times at a moment's notice and was available for every question we had. I will definitely return to this amazing home and town. It is a must see!

Relaxing seaside villa with a seaside view that does not disappoint!
This was our first trip to Greece. We were not disappointed in our choice to stay in Porto Rafti instead of Athens.
We arranged with Efi to have a supper of soup and sandwiches ready upon our arrival from the United States.....it was delicious. The price reasonable and the servings generous. The homemade birthday cheesecake we ordered was very good. Efi is an excellent cook as well as an attentive hostess.
Porto Rafti was quiet except for the occasional dogs barking hello and the roosters welcoming the dawn... this only made us smile and enjoy our morning on the balcony terrace. The sunrises were peaceful and full of color. The evenings were relaxing and the views never ending. We enjoyed our walks to the sea shore, stores and tavernas
Efi made reservations for us at lovely seaside tavernas where we were invited to the kitchen to pick out the catch of the day we wanted for dinner. The seafood was the best we had ever eaten. We fear we are now spoiled and will never have seafood as fresh and well prepared again.
We would definitely consider staying here again. Greek hospitality was well represented by Efi and the residents of Porto Rafti.

Spectacular view, fantastic host
We very much enjoyed our stay in this wonderful villa with my wife, two children and father-in-law! The home has a view that exceeds the impression given by the pictures. It was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The kitchen was VERY well stocked with whatever you may need - including spices. This was NOT your tipical rental unit with a pan, and place setting for four!
We arrived from the airport to fine the owner, Efi, waiting for us. She gave us a tour of the house, explained what was available in the town, and recommended some tavernas and beaches for us to visit. We found a very nice bottle of 2010 Cabernet/Syrah wine and glasses waiting for us, as well as a fridge stocked with fresh fruit, eggs, milk, etc., which made breakfast for the five of us for our three day visit. I can tell you that finding a bottle of fine wine waiting for you after a long day of traveling is a priceless gift in itself!!
During our short stay, we fell in love with Porto Rafti. The town is beautiful and "authentically Greek" - this is not a tourist town, and you will find many shops, signs etc. are only in Greek, but the people are genuinely friendly and helpful and most everyone speaks English. When we asked the gentleman at the wine store where to get take out, he recommended and then offered to call a souvlaki place and order for us! Although the Villa is a short walk to the sea, beaches, and a few tavernas, you will want to get a car to explore or drive the 12km or so to the train, which will take you anywhere in Athens for just a couple Euro. The drive to the airport is easy and short - about 15 minutes.
I cannot stress enough that this was NOT your typical rental unit where the manager provides a key and a brief tour of the house. Efi went out of her way to insure we felt at home and did everything to insure we did. We were in contact with her several times during our stay to get recommendations on restaurants, beaches, and directions to the train station.
Bravo Efi! You made our short stay in Porto Rafti PERFECT! We thank you VERY much for sharing your home with us and I hope that WHEN we return to Porto Rafti for a longer stay, you will share it with us again!!! Ευχαριστώ πολύ! :)

Wonderful family vacation in quiet sea side town
The villa is very nicely located just a couple minutes' drive from the coast. It has a gorgeous view and is well equipped. Perfect for a family vacation.
Efi is a wonderful host - very helpful and responded to all queries straight away.
Porto Rafti is rather quirky, in a nice way. It's very local. I don't think we saw a single english speaking tourist there. And yet, there are loads of restaurants and everyone is super friendly, and it's very easy to get into Athens - less than an hour by car/metro.
The beach is nice - a couple meters of pebbles at the water's edge, but then sandy. Good for kids, no big waves or current. The local water sport operator was closed, apparently because of high winds. We drove about 30 minutes to a south-facing beach because my kids wanted to try windsurfing.
Note: It is definitely necessary to have a car. It's possible to walk to the nearest beach area and restaurants, but the hills are steep and you will quickly feel trapped if you don't have a car.

Fantastic!
We have just returned from 4 relaxing days here. Efi and her husband were such wonderful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. They picked us up and dropped us back at the airport (for a fee) which we really appreciated. There was a bottle of wine and a fridge full of breakfast items when we arrived as well as Easter eggs to celebrate Orthodox Easte. Our flight arrived at 6:15am and they were happy to let the us go straight to the apartment. The apartment was perfect for our family of 4 with 3 good sized bedrooms. There was a fantastic view of the water from the balcony. We came here looking for a very quiet and relaxing weekend and that's what we got. Thank you Effi and family for welcoming us into your home.
Sarah and family.
