About this property
Kukahbu Cabin: Stylish Comfort in Lakemont Pines
Kukahbu Cabin is situated in the resort town of Arnold, CA and Stanislaus National Forest. In summer, guests enjoy the amenities at the private lake, and in winter, skiing and snowboarding are minutes away. Hiking, wine tasting, and other activities are available year-round. Our romance, kid and pet friendly cozy cabin sleeps 6 in 2 bedrooms and has an open floor plan among the trees. Much easier to access than getting to Tahoe, and without the crowds!
The space
Our stylish pet and kid friendly cabin has been lovingly updated and decorated and includes many vintage and modern personal touches. A gas fireplace keeps you toasty in the winter, and summertime means grilling on the relaxing deck with a view of the towering trees. Deck furniture is out late spring to mid-fall, the gas grill is out year-round. Sleds are under deck for guest use in winter!
The cabin sleeps six in two bedrooms, making it a perfect choice for a couples' getaway or a small family. DVDs, games, puzzles, and books are provided, the WiFi is great, and the TV has Xfinity Flex so you can sign-in to your accounts. The "Muzen" wood bluetooth speaker has great sound and is also a radio.
The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with a spacious breakfast bar, and the adjacent dining area seats six. The dining table next to the toasty gas fireplace makes this a perfect place to relax after a day on the slopes, with a cup of local Arnold Blend coffee or cocoa we provide and enjoy a view of the beautiful trees.
The spacious front bedroom has a queen-size bed while the larger rear bedroom has a queen and twin bunks. In the summertime, the beds are fitted with lightweight duvets, with cozy blankets added during the colder season. Additional blankets are stored in each room. Newer mattresses and pads make for comfortable support.
Guest access
Kukahbu Cabin is located in Lakemont Pines, a peaceful community with private lake that includes resort passes and use of the clubhouse and private beach with kayaks, floaties, paddle boats, basketball, beach volleyball, ping pong, corn hole, a snack shack and lakeside playground all included with your summer stay! Sandcastle contests and crafts for kids make this a special place from another time. A summer at the Lake is not to be missed.
In winter, Kukahbu Cabin is easily accessible but is minutes from Snow Play, Skiing and all the amazing winter adventures Calaveras and Bear Valley have to offer. The cabin gets extra cozy in winter and invites you to relax with cocoa or the local Arnold Blend coffee we provide.
Other things to note
If you've never been to the Arnold area, you're in for a treat! Ideally located in the Stanislaus National Forest, we are 30 minutes from Bear Valley Ski Resort to the east, and 20 minutes from the charming gold rush town of Murphys, with its wine tasting rooms, boutique shopping and gourmet restaurants. Also nearby are Columbia State Park, a preserved gold rush community; Calaveras Big Trees State Park and its giant sequoias; and Railtown 1897 State Historic Park, not to mention golf, winery tours, cave tours, zip lines, horseback riding and more! Yosemite Valley is about 2.5 hours to the south.
Arnold weather is ideal for all-season fun! The warmest months are June through September, with average temps in the perfect upper 70s - mid/low 80s range. The cabin is shady and cool, and the lake water temp is in the mid-70s. Ski season normally begins in December and carries through mid-April. Because we're at 4,000 feet, we get the postcard views without the heavy snow load farther up the hill, which means easier access during the snow season. And spring and fall are normally in the 55 - 65 range -- perfect for checking out the fall foliage in Ebbetts Pass, or visiting Yosemite without the crowds.
