Wonderful!
Like staying in grandmas summer lake house! A group of four teachers stayed here while attending a summer conference nearby. We especially loved the screen porch and relaxing on the lake after a long day!

Roomy and comfortable
The house is old and very charming, yet very comfortable. We spent the week swimming, kayaking, and hiking in the area, then unwound on the screen porch. We would definitely stay there again.

Idyllic and restful
We had a lovely visit in this historic home on a beautiful lake. We sat on the screened-in porch, slept comfortably in the bedrooms and took the kayaks out for calm morning and evening paddles.

Great New England farmhouse
Definitely authentic New England! Antique furniture in an antique house. Cozy and classic house in a quaint little town. Close to great hiking. Not far from Boston.

Charming but smelly
Beautiful home and area, but there may be water in the basement. It was very musty smelling. Road noise at night was waking me up.

Fun times
Great places in the area to hike. We swam, fished and used the little boats in the lake. Rustic, old farm house with enough space for our family.

Cabin Farmhouse
The best way to describe this place is a Cabin Farmhouse. The look and feel of this house is colonial all the way to 1950s, everything is old but that's the point. The Deck on the lake is great.

Great farmhouse with private dock
What a wonderful stay at the red farmhouse. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and walking down to the lake and fishing from their dock. My husband and son even used the kayaks a few times. The lack of AC was only an issue on the first night and then we were blessed with some rainstorms that cooled it down. Would stay again!

Lovely Relaxing Stay
We wanted a ‘Chill’ trip after a rough year and this fit the bill perfectly. We spent the days on the dock reading or Kayaking and the nights on the screened in porch coloring, games and just having an old fashion family time with to technology. There are lots of hiking trails in the area and Peterborough is less than 15 minute drive for shopping and restaurants. The house is huge and rooms comfortable. Checking in was a snap as was the checkout process.

Great stay
We were in town visiting family in Lyndeborough and needed a place to stay that slept 7 people. This wasn't easy to find, but this house fit the bill! We were all able to have a great visit and it was only a 15 minute drive to our family's house. The house is very old and filled with old furniture and antiques so there is a musty smell, but that is to be expected. The view from the dock is lovely and the fall colors were spectacular. We were surprised to have to remove the trash from the home upon check out. I don't recall seeing that in the listing, so if it was there, my bad. We were traveling from Michigan to the airport and had no where to take it. The recommended facility was not open on Mondays. Would be good to know that in advance of booking. All in all, we'd stay there again.

Great spot but
NO AC. The listing doesn't claim there is AC, so it's my own fault, but that was a downside during our stay. Otherwise it's a decent place. Private access to the the lake was great

Large beautiful home
This home was in a great location close to Peterborough and Greenfield State Park. It was very comfortable for 6 of us. We especially loved the screened in porch and spent a lot of time there. The house itself was very clean, but we did have to wash a few of the cups and dishes as they were not totally clean. Someone else commented in their remarks on the street noise but that did not bother us as we were using the fans available in our rooms to stay cool at night. We would definitely go back again! Thank you!

We love this house!!!
My family is in love with this charming house. I have 3 boys 18-21 and they each have there own reason for loving this lake . My fisherman loves how many different kinds of fish he can catch in a single day. I have a paddle boarder who loves how quite the lake is ,no crazy motor boats. My youngest loves kayaking and whips around the lake looking for wildlife. We have seen deer, black bear, bald eagles, bittern heron and much more on this lake. The owner is wonderful about getting back to you about anything thing that needs fixing(blown light bulb, etc). We have never had a problem with this house ,just wonderful memories.

Historic is also hot, buggy and in need of updates
Unfortunately, staying in a hot spell meant sleep was difficult because: limited ventilation with some windows not opening or staying open OR screens broken/with holes. This meant bugs were common. This also meant that the road noise was a real problem. In addition, the variety and styles of extension cords, power plugs, outlets and switches was quite worrisome as we tried to run numerous fans to keep some level of comfort. We actually told other family, that planed to visit, not to come. Unfortunate. This may be a nice, quaint rental between late October through mid April, but without updates and repair, it's not comfortable.

Great vacation house for a family
*Plenty of beds for a large family *"Something to do" all the time -- swim or kayak *Not far from really cute towns *Grocery store for quick pick ups like milk, etc. just down the road *2 bathrooms -- a must for large families *Plenty of space to spread out -- screen -in sunroom, 2 living rooms, a dining room, kitchen, and the bedrooms -- and don't forget the dock down by the water. Everyone can do what they want -- play on devices (great wifi), play games, read a book, take a nap, or just relax. *Take note -- there is no A/C. We knew this, but still had a great time. There are plenty of fans to keep you cool. And there are several steep steps to the water. Not a problem for us, but may be a hindrance to some. *If we're ever in the area again, we would book this place again.

The location, lake and amenities were wonderful! The only couple of drawbacks to the stay were being responsible for getting rid of the trash after checkout and some of the furniture is dated/broken.

Family Trip
We were a group traveling to NH to visit family in the area. This place accommodated us all comfortably in a beautiful setting. We had a dinner/game night with 10 people and all had room at the table. Anything you could need was available at the home - and there was plenty of everything. Only downside is the proximity to the road and traffic noise but that is not within the home owner's control. It was a great vacation- thank you!
