“The lake is good for muskie fishing, and that it's a good jerk bait lake.”
“The lake is one of their favorites to fish, especially in the fall, and that it gets some pressure.”

Cozy Cottage on a Large Northwoods Lake

We had a great, quiet, relaxing stay at this cozy cottage. We brought bikes and kayaks. If we fished this is a perfect place for it. The cottage has all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Walking distance to a WI Supper Club and a short drive to town for activities and everything else.

Great Lake

Nice cabin with large deck. The lake and shore was great for swimming. The water was so clear. The boat was so helpful answering questions and responded quickly. This place was perfect and would stay again. Plus it’s close to a little town with a wine shop. And a couple other places.

Perfect

Cabin exceeded our expectations. Ice cold AC on those sticky days. We had our fishing boat up there, but the bass and blugills were really good off the dock. Great a little sandbar to dock up to. Area dining is good. Get on the list at Pine Ridge

A peaceful lake with loons and eagles - what's not to love

Thoroughly enjoyed this property on Lake Sissabagama. Amenities were great. We weren't looking for a luxury setting. This is a classic, charming north woods cottage and most of our time was spent outdoors. Nearby Stone Lake had all we needed. We will very likely return.

Peaceful and nostalgic

We spent a week here over the Fourth of July and loved it! The cabin had most of what we needed, and there is a small grocery/general store in Stone Lake near by for anything else we needed. The cabin itself was so cozy. We all slept soundly each night in the comfy beds. Everything was in good condition and clean. The sandy shallow lake bottom was perfect for our daughter (2) to play in. The water is crystal clear with hundreds of tiny minnows darting around for her to observe. At dusk, bluegill and pumpkin seeds were biting like crazy! They were all large enough for us to have a tasty breakfast the next day. We were expecting the lake to be busy, and there were a few party pontoons and jet skis each day but overall very serene and peaceful! The lake is easy to canoe and wildlife is abundant. Much of the lakefront is left natural. Heron, snakes, turtles, king fishers, etc are abundant! We highly recommend and will be back!

Exactly what we were looking for

We really enjoyed our stay! This was our first time visiting the state of Wisconsin, and I'm very glad we found this place, it was just what we "needed" to get away and relax for a few days. The cabin was cozy, clean, and comfortable, but we spent as much time outdoors as possible because the lake view was *spectacular* and the surrounding woods were quiet and peaceful. I had brought a canoe with me and fortunately the weather was ideal so we took it out on the lake every day, and we saw Bald Eagles, loons, osprey, and other wildlife. We also packed a couple of hammocks which we used to relax in the shade while enjoying the breeze off the lake. It would be hard to overstate the natural beauty of this location. We also ventured into Hayward for a couple of meals, and also a "lumberjack show" which was entertaining. Curt was an excellent host. His descriptions of the cabin, the lake, and surrounding areas was spot on and very helpful. The few times I messaged him with questions, he responded within minutes every time, with very helpful answers. Being able to bring our small dog with us was also very helpful. It was a great trip for us all around - relaxing and rejuvenating, just what we had hoped for. I would absolutely stay here again if we have the opportunity.

I live in Minneapolis and I have always loved the northwoods. Fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, hiking or, just tooling around the lake on my pontoon boat. There is nothing like the relaxing feeling you get when you get on the water and hear the waves lapping against the side of your boat. I've always wanted to own a piece of the northwoods and with your help I am able afford have this cabin and use it when it is not rented. THANK YOU! I really appreciate you.

What makes this property unique

I had been looking to purchase a cabin in the perfect setting for about three years. I was looking for a wooded setting on a great lake that has clear water with a sandy bottom. I also wanted to have a restaurant or bar nearby and the neighbors need to be far enough away that you feel like you are somewhat alone in the woods, yet friendly enough that when you do see them it is always a pleasure. When I first visited this site, I knew it was the one. Everything about this spot is perfect. It's up off the water but not too far. The view is unobstructed by anything but trees. Marshland on the other side of the lake stops people from building, keeping the view pristine. The sunsets are amazing!! Sit on the deck and watch the loons and otters swim by. Islands give a sense of mystery. There are a good number of bays to explore. Many areas of structure within the lake make for better fishing beds.
The fishing is astounding, but I’ve already written about that on another part of the page. The restaurant is Pine Ridge, just a seven-minute walk from the cabin. And the rest will be evident when you arrive and see the setting.
