Beautifully restored farmhouse!

One of a kind farmhouse beautifully restored. We stayed for a family Thanksgiving. It was perfect from top to bottom. Excellent location right off the Merritt Parkway and close to everything. First class hospitality upon arrival. Highly recommended!

Wonderful place!

My family and friends greatly enjoyed our stay at the Basset House. Michael was extremely helpful in accommodating our needs, we had food, milk, beverages, fruits and pastry waiting for us on our check-in day. This place is very clean, comfortable, well equipped and organized and everyone feels like home there. We had a wonderful time and will hold beautiful memories from The Bassett House!

Perfect home and location for a family wedding in New Haven. Amazing home, plenty of room for 2 families. Supplied with everything we needed and more. Beds were so comfortable! Enjoyed the backyard and outdoor games provided.

Simply amazing!!

Simply amazing!! We would like to return on the first opportunity. It has been our VRBO experience ever. Everything was as expected or better. Ample spaces for our group of 9, including kitchen, living room, tv room. Michael was very attentive with all of our arrival needs, including basic groceries, fine toiletries, table set-up, etc. Totally recommend staying in this home.

True Luxury

What an incredible home The Bassett House is! The property is stunning and was set up so beautifully that upon arrival we were truly blown away. The openness of the floor plan, the incredible attention to detail throughout the home, and Michael’s gracious thoughtfulness made this the very best rental experience our family has had, bar none. We were in town for our son’s wedding and had a fantastic week. The house easily accommodated our family of four plus a few extended family members. We also hosted two events: a birthday dinner party and a brunch reception the day after the wedding. Everything we needed (and more!) was on site to host these events. Beautiful table settings, chafing dishes preset for us, all the cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc. you need to cook full meals, and numerous suggestions from Michael on catering and/or take out. We had assumed that we’d need to cater our parties, but ended up happily cooking for both large meals ourselves. It is quite a rare experience to be able to host to such high level events in a rental home. But the set up here truly is exceptional. It was an amazing, beautiful, and fun stay! Thank you Michael so very much- you helped our family make our son’s wedding week the event of a lifetime! Some favorite details: The beds are fantastic (I wish I knew what brand the master bed is… I’d buy one today!). All linens, soaps, towels, etc. are luxurious. Fully stocked kitchen Super convenient location

Best VRBO property. In CT for my daughter’s Bridal shower and the home was perfect size for friends and family coming in for the weekend of festivities. Property owner went above and beyond to make the home welcoming. It is a beautiful home and our group enjoyed all the attention to detail. Gracious property owners - could tell they take great pride in making sure everything is done right.

Birthday celebration

We rented this property to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. From the moment we arrived to the house we were all blown away. Everything was beautifully curated and in perfect condition. The kitchen was stocked with snacks, water, fruit and pastries which were much appreciated by those staying in the home. The kitchen was equipped with everything needed to serve a dinner party and the on premises chaffing dishes were the icing on the cake. The bedrooms and bathroom were a dream, and felt as if were were staying at a hotel. I could not recommend this property more highly and will definitely but returning in the future.

Beyond amazing!!

We’ve stayed at the Bassett House twice over the last two weeks. We would have stayed there for the full two weeks but the house was already booked for last weekend so we checked out and checked back in. Both stays were absolutely fantastic. We were SO comfortable. The house is STUNNING! Every detail was thought of when they recently remodeled the house. It was like staying in a 5+ star resort. Michael really knows what he’s doing! There were toiletries, specialty soaps, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in every bathroom. The towels and bedding are truly luxurious. There was bottle water in every bedroom as well as in the fridge. Michael stocked the fridge and pantry with: —orange juice, milk, creamer, cream cheese, butter, eggs, yogurt, snack mix, tortilla chips and salsa, potato chips, fresh fruit, croissants, blueberry muffins, apple pie and more!! He even takes special requests! We asked for some Keto snacks and almonds and he delivered. This house is perfectly decorated and the porch and backyard are gorgeous. This is by far the very best VRBO we’ve stayed in and we’ve stayed in a lot. What you get for the price is far exceeds what you could possibly imagine. All of the TVs were great and we had access to Prime, Hulu, Netflix, and movie channels. Thank you Michael!!

The Best Wedding Venue!

I had an absolute dream of a wedding weekend at the Bassett House. The house itself was immaculate and the grounds were the perfect backdrop to our intimate wedding ceremony and reception! Michael was a very attentive host, giving us an opportunity to tour the house beforehand, providing plenty of amenities that helped us host our event, and answering any questions we had about the property. The perfect family event

We fell in love with the Bassett house’s charm on the outside and the sheer luxury of the interior. This home is just gorgeous and we had a blast using it for our 4 day family event. Michael was also amazing, we had a small issue that was taken care of quickly even though it wasn’t convenient for him. We will have memories forever because of this house. And so will you if you choose to rent it ( P.S the shower upstairs is AMAZING )

Amazing, Relaxing and so much Fun

This was our second stay on this property and this time, for our wedding. Just like the first time we stayed here it was beautiful, clean and they thought of everything. With it being such a big weekend for us, we had a lot to worry about, but hosting our friends and family and having everything we needed to do that was not one of them. Completely exceeded expectations

From the minute we drove up until we departed this was a wonderful experience. The property was easy to find, communication prior to arriving was clear and helpful. When we entered the house, we found it pleasantly pre-stocked with many (far more than basic) items we would have had to go out to get and many items that were just above and beyond what we expected. We have rented beach houses in the Outer banks every year and not one of them measured up to these standards. There was coffee, eggs, milk, yogurt, OJ, bagels, and even some wine and sparkling water, croissant, muffins, apple pie, and more. This trip was taken for my daughters wedding and having a house like this removed one potential issue making the event weekend go even smoother. Mike was quick to respond to questions both before we arrived and while we were there.

Amazing weekend!

We went for a bachelorette weekend and the house was PHENOMENAL! It was immaculate upon arrival and stocked with some food (he even went above and beyond to take into consideration food allergies!) and drinks. Michael was extremely responsive answering any questions I had prior to arrival and genuinely wanted to provide the best stay for everyone. Perfect Vacation

From the moment we drove up to The Bassett House, we knew we picked a winner! The driveway, garage, and extra upper driveway were all great options for our cars. Upon entering the house, we were welcomed with wine, sparkling water, water bottles, bagels, croissants, specialty muffins, specialty cookies, specialty biscotti, pies…all beautifully presented and strategically placed around the kitchen.The refrigerator was stocked too; milk, eggs, juice, etc. The dining table was set for all of us just like Michael said it would be when he specifically asked how many would be staying at The Bassett House. When we went upstairs to unpack, each bedroom was ready for us. Plush linens and towels, an abundance of toiletries, and even crisp white bathrobes! All the bedroom TVs were large screen and the family room TV felt like we were in a movie theater. The interior was so tastefully decorated. Each room was beautifully appointed and the couches and chairs were very comfy! The big backyard was so much fun as we are a very competitive group and we enjoyed the many outdoor games available to us from in the garage. We have very funny pictures from the Tug of War challenges! We also enjoyed playing Bucket Ball, Kam Jam, and Cornhole. The Bassett House is near spectacular hiking and the New Haven-NorthHampton biking trail. There are also beaches and parks to visit and Michael has many recommendations for such and for great restaurants. So, if you are looking for a perfect vacation filled with lots of fun and great family/friend memories, then The Bassett House is the place for you! Thank you Michael for being such a personable and friendly host!
