A fabulous stay off SoCo in Travis Heights, Austin.
Julia Taylor is a terrific landlord, responding quickly to any questions we had.
The house is a half mile from HEB, a really good supermarket (great produce and prices), on So Congress St. North along the SoCo corridor from HEB has loads of restaurants, coffee and retail shops. We often walked into town stopping along the way to browse. We also walked a block on Oltorf to a traffic light to cross and went through the lovely Travis Hts neighborhood and into town through Big Stacey/Little Stacey parks along Blunn Creek or on residential streets with minimal traffic. Also, fun to walk through the neighborhood south of Oltorf and into the campus of St. Edwards University. Don't miss the Sage Coffee Shop south of HEB at the Great Outdoor Garden Center.
The house was very clean (and easy to keep clean), well stocked with towels and sheets, pots and pans. There is a full size W/D, which served us incredibly well with a 4 month old visiting us. The wall to wall carpet on the stairs and second floor was new, and my adult daughter raved about that. The house is right on Oltorf, which is a very busy street. However, there is a fence separating the house from the st, and we were not troubled by traffic noise or any other noise from the townhouses on either side of us for that matter. There is assigned parking in the rear of the house, but only one night in 30 did we need to use it, as we had no trouble finding a space in the open spaces in front of the house.
Great vacation and wonderful house!
