About this property
**NEW** Luxury Home overlooking Meramec River w Game Room, Private River Access
With a unique, inviting interior layout and lots of thoughtful, custom touches, the aptly named Riverbend Retreat is a serene woodland cabin that’s nestled snuggly in an arch of the tranquil, majestic Meremac River. The Missouri Ozarks are an incredibly special spot to stay when you’re truly looking to relax and reconnect with nature, and nowhere is that easier to do than here at Riverbend Retreat.
Unwind and Chill in the Great Room
When it’s time for recreation and refreshments with your crew, you’ll find the first floor of Riverbend Retreat is the perfect spot to gather everyone together. Featuring a spacious living area with a huge sectional recliner sofa, a cozy electric fireplace, and a mounted HDTV with Roku steaming, there’s still plenty of open area for an impromptu dance party if that’s more your thing.
Next to the living area, there’s an updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, open shelving loaded with sparkling glasses and dishware, and a convenient island with barstool seating. There’s also a large indoor dining table with seating for eight— ideal for breakfast, dinner, or board games! This first level conveniently houses a full bathroom with a single vanity and a tub/shower combo.
The family-friendly game room at Riverbend Retreat is complete with arcade games, a 75” HDTV, a foosball table, a card table, and an inviting wood bar. Surrounding the game room are impressive animal mounts that the homeowner harvested himself and serve as a reminder to be on the lookout for local wildlife just outside the door.
Four Five-Star Bedrooms
The upper level of Riverbend Retreat is a peaceful oasis that includes all four guest bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a serene back deck that overlooks the river. Three of the guest bedrooms each have a comfy queen-size bed and a closet with plenty of storage. The fourth bedroom is a bunk room that’s a fantastic place for the kids to hang out and features a full-over-queen-size bunk bed and another freestanding queen-size bed. In the full bathroom on this floor, there’s a quartz-topped vanity with double sinks and a spa-inspired step-in shower with marble tile and a glass door.
A Delightful Back Deck
A friendly warning: you may find yourself spending the majority of your time at Riverbend Retreat on the back deck. This covered, elevated space offers idyllic views of the lush, wooded backyard and firepit below, with the sounds of the rushing river in the distance. Two six-person dining tables is perfect for an alfresco family meal or maybe just a glass of wine at twilight while you watch for wildlife. Convenient back stairs allow you to access the yard for closer exploring and enjoying the crackle of the firepit underneath the stars.
Guest River Access
For our guests, we offer two private, ultra-convenient Meramec River access points. The first guest access point is about 2 miles from Riverbend Retreat and has a grassy area for lawn chairs, a pop-up canopy, a large bluff across the river, and a sunny swimming hole. The second guest access point is about three miles away and has a covered pavilion with a deck overlooking the river, a fun bar area, a fireplace, a fridge, and a sink with running water. There’s also a swimming area, corn-hole boards, and lots of shade. This cool spot sits above the fishing springs cave as well. From each of these amazing access points, you can kayak, fish, float, or simply relax and enjoy your time in nature.
At this time, the river view that you can see from the cabin is not available for guest use; it is private property.

About the host
Hosted by Jessica

This idyllic location has been in my family for five generations. Originally purchased by my great-great-grandfather, my great-grandfather was born in the original farmhouse. Then my grandmother, her twin sister, my own mother, and I were all lucky enough and blessed to have grown up cradled within this picturesque and peaceful piece of land.
Excited and inspired to share our love of this land with others, my husband Justin and I started 4J Vacation Rentals in 2020 with two homes— Country Cabin & Hillside— that were each built and lived in by my grandparents and my great-grandmother. In 2021, we purchased the neighboring 16 acres and 4 cabins— Dogwood, Sassafras, Copperstone, and Murphy’s Retreat— that overlook the Meramec River, and our vision of sharing this land was magnified and expanded beyond our wildest dreams.
Additionally, Justin and I also run a nearby cattle farm, and my mom and I have started a non-profit equine therapy practice for those with special needs. Justin and I have two kids who love to run around and explore the surrounding rolling hills and sparkling riverbed, just like I did when I was a kid, and my mom did before me.
This land is a magical place we so enjoy sharing— and seeing guests like you fall in love with it is such a rewarding feeling. Waking up to see the morning sunrise through the mist as it rises off the Meramec River Valley is a truly spiritual experience— one that will effortlessly bring you the serenity and tranquility you crave, and that are so lacking in the world today. But don’t take my word for it. Book your next escape and come see us soon.
