A bit of a rough experience

First and foremost, the location is fantastic. Super easy to walk to the Village. Ron, property owner, was extremely responsive and gracious. Unfortunately, our check in process was awful -- as I did not receive the message with keycode. VRBO instructions said to go to property management office before 6 pm. Which we did and it was closed. Called and the guy yelled at me. Fortunately, I had Ron's number and he provided the code but it was a rough start. Secondly, the walls are paper thin. First night, we had neighbors screaming expletives at each other at 11 pm. By midnight, I had to go knock on their door. Not something anyone ever wants to do. The next night, other neighbors were extremely loud late partying. I barely slept while there. Lastly, the heater is an issue. It was an icebox downstairs and a sauna upstairs. To the point where I had to sleep with the window open (and there is road noise from Lake Mary). I contacted Ron and he advised about the pellet heart but it barely emitted any heat. It wasn't a comfortable stay in that regard. These are not the types of reviews I like to submit. It makes me sad to do so particularly as the property owner was very gracious. However, the heater situation alone (which is something that needs to be addressed) made the stay less than comfortable. And people need to know that the walls are extraordinarily thin so if you are a light sleeper, this is not the place for you. As FYI, there are a LOT of stairs to get to this unit. About three floors worth. Which was not an issue for us but something to consider.

Perfect for a small group

In the Hidden Valley Village Condos. These units tend to be on the older and smaller side, but it was a perfect little weekend for our small group. Amazing location a block away from the Main/Minaret intersection. No check-in/out necessary. Great communication from the owner. All-around an incredibly easy experience. Definitely recommended for small groups on a budget.

Great place to stay close to the Village

This was a great place. A little bit of an older place and pretty well used, but you can't beat the location and the ease to get to the condo. Like others have said there are a lot of stairs but manageable. The pellet stove was very nice and worked great. Everyone had a great time and I would stay here again.

Convenient but outdated.

Overall we enjoyed the town and skiing in Mammoth. Condo is conveniently located to slopes, although the walking path was icy and difficult to maneuver - especially if carrying equipment. Accommodations were lacking on several levels. Unit was outdated. Heating was difficult to regulate. Parts of stove did not work. WIFI in condo was not included. It was only accessible from the Manager's Office. No privacy within the unit May be fine for parents with younger kids, but was not a good setup for 4 adults as 2 beds were trundle unit in the great room. Very little room for storage - especially for the downstairs sleepers. Calls/messages left with the manager's office were not returned and the office was unattended although we realize it was a holiday week.

Spacious, Clean, and Affordable

For a clean, spacious, 2 story condo with a king size bed and two full mattresses, this place is incredibly affordable. The view is amazing and the location is perfect. Ron is also easy to reach and very communicative and accommodating.

Good location, roomy and clean. Hard to access, no wifi.

Good location. Other than that, it was average. expected wifi like the other locations to get work done, but there was none. It only offered the locations recreational wifi which wasn't nearby and required a password.

Worked for our needs

This was perfect for our needs as we weren't looking for the Ritz because when in Mammoth you are outside during the summer and you need the place for the 3 S's Shave, Shower and you know the rest LOL!. Ron called before to make sure we were set to leave. Stayed a week Sunday through Sunday and found perfect for the price. We will consider a winter stay there for sure but I need to get in better shape for those stairs Suggestions: escalator, those 57-65 steps are brutal but views does help with being out of breathe. When staying a week please consider more toilet paper stock. Chair in bedroom is on last leg literally :0) Time to update counters in kitchen. Also Spa was way to hot to be enjoyable said 103 but felt like 120 and skin turned red. Overall very happy with stay.

BEWARE

CAUTION!!! This place is awful, old and worn out. 56 steps up to the front door. We rented the place for 3 days and stayed just one night.

Hidden Valley in the summer

We had a great week here. There is so much to do and explore in this area during the summer. Our place was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed except for internet access. The pool was perfect for the kids and I. With the hot tub right beside the pool, everyone was happy. The owner was very responsive, kind and helpful.

Very nice location~!

We arrived at Hidden Valley condos - the area is easy to find and really cute!!! We used the jacuzzi, which was very nice - on the deck and very hot. The condo has everything you need and the bed very comfy. Only downside, 65 stairs to the condo. When hauling ski gear up and down was a work-out. We will definitely go again. Beautiful and near the village.

Great location for a weekend ski trip!

Location cannot be beat! 10 minute walk to village/gondola. Very affordable and plenty of room. Easy check-in/check-out. Would definitely recommend this place to any one visiting Mammoth. Hope to be back again soon!

Great place, conveniently located

Condo was great. Location was excellent: walking distance to the Village. Found nice sledding spots for our boys (2 and 5) nearby. Kitchen was well equipped. Check-in and check-out without hassle. Good price. Would definitely stay again.

Annual mammoth shred sesh

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, cruising the hills of mammoth mountain. The condo was tiny in size but adequate for what we needed which was just a home base to shower, cook dinner n rest our thoroughly exhausted bodies. The shower worked well and the fireplace was a nice perk allowing us to dry all of our gear overnight. Be aware it is located at the top of three long flights if stairs so definitely not for the weary! Ron was really friendly and accommadating and the location was good as well...only a few short blocks to the Gondola. Overall i would recommend this as long as you know what you are getting...a small, clean, decently located crash pad for some serious shred time on the mountain.

Nice Condo, Close to the Village

Perfect for what we were looking for, close to the Village at an affordable price. Will look at staying again when we are in Mammoth. My only suggestion is to get rid of the carpet in the bathroooms and go with some tile or linoleum.

Early Aug stay

THis condo supplied all our needs for the week we stayed, Much nicer than staying in a hotel. THe property was clean and fairly well maintained. The beds were comfortable (new mattresses)vWe were able to dine in for breakfast and dinner with all the needed pots, pans, etc available. Whiskey Creek Restaurant was in walking distance. Plenty of calories were burned climbing the 55 steps up to the door, BUT the location offered nice views of the Sierras. I would recommend this unit to anyone except those that have difficulty with climbing stairs.

Really Great Value

For the price, this place was fantastic! Easy check in, easy parking, spacious enough for 2 of us. The kitchen worked out well, and we bbq'ed chicken on the patio our second night. There is a hot tub which is great for after skiing, and there is a lift 2 blocks away you can walk to that takes you to the mountain.

Good price, decent location, so-so amenities

Pros: rate, only about 300 yds to Village Gondola, comfortable master bed, decent view from deck, nicely appointed kitchen appliances and untensils. The owner is also readily available over the phone/email and is quickly responsive to any inquiries. He also seems like a nice and caring owner - very much appreciated in VRBO rentals! Thank you sir! Cons: Poor heating (condo never got warm), worn unit (floors, counters, blinds, bath tubs all show extensive use and age), Lake Mary Road lacks much shoulder and no sidewalks upon which to walk, fireplace does not vent well (smoky smell throughout unit), walls in kitchen splashed with orange something, and trundle bed was not moved for vacuuming. Overall if your just looking for a decent place to sleep and will spend most of your time on the mountain and in the village (to eat), and are looking for an inexpensive rate - this is the place for you.
