Perfect for a quiet, rustic retreat. Comfortable space with history, to relax and spend time together with family. Great stay! Please note that this is not an accessible property, with all 3 bedrooms and the full bathroom on the 2nd floor.
The house was perfect for three couples! Our favorite spot was the porch by the pool! During the day we would hang at the beach and afternoons/evenings were spent by the pool. Two great restaurants within a short walk. We always felt safe as well, great neighbood. Will definitely stay here again!
This was a pretty nice place to stay to get to both parts of Acadia National Park. The downstairs of the home was very nice and well furnished. The upstairs had some weird construction details that I’m sure were due to the home’s age but would have been nice to have changed. Sound traveled super easily in this house and there was a weird gap around the old chimney area between two of the bedrooms. Also you can see right into the bathroom due to the sliding door which is kind of annoying when staying with multiple people.
This was the perfect place for our family. Just to be completely honest, we were a little concerned when we drove up, because the zoning is a little wonky. There were a few dilapidated mobile homes on the road to the house, and some kids were riding excessively loud motorbikes on a neighboring property. The house is also a full hour drive from Bar Harbor. However, when we went inside, we were thrilled with the accommodations and amenities. It ended up being a very quiet rural area where you could really enjoy the beauty of the Maine countryside. The farmhouse has been beautifully redone, all the appliances were new and worked well, and the kitchen and bathrooms were really nicely updated. We lounged on the large side porch that was made into a den and watched a movie on Roku on the big screen TV one night. It was so nice and relaxing. We were far enough away from city lights that we could see more stars and constellations than my kids have ever seen in the night sky. We felt very safe, and loved our stay in this spacious farmhouse. We would definitely stay here again, and we highly recommend it!
