Tucson visit

It's a nice enough place and I blame myself in not catching that it's a choice hotel. So not sure what I used the site for instead of the hotel site. Area was fine close to everything we needed and the breakfast was very good .

Felt like family and home

The staff, the pool and the free breakfast each morning gave me a sense of belonging while traveling alone. Great value.

It was nice

It’s an old hotel but it was adequate. Repairs needed in hot water in sink. Wall in bathroom is crumbly… breakfast was very nice… pool and hot tub very nice. Just need a bit of updating.

Great place, trouble with Vrbo checkin

Everything other than the room is awesome, the breakfast was amazing, the pool and spa are top notch. The room itself is average and decent. The bathroom toilet is the tiniest toilet I have ever seen, it was hard to maneuver that! Toilet size could definitely be upgraded. Walk in shower was great! Everything else was great! The check in process was an almost disaster because the hotel couldn't find my booking. It seems the person who listed on Vrbo didn't inform the hotel manager or enter in the system. They had to book me for the room without charges, but it was an overall unpleasant checkin process. I was grateful they still got me in and also changed my room to the location I preferred.FYI, the courtyard is actually downstairs, so good to be aware in case you don't want to use the stairs. There is an elevator though so that is convenient!

Volleyball tournament

In town for a volleyball tournament and needed somewhere close with good reviews. We loved the Sonoran charm of this property and the breakfast was amazing. If I had one comment it would be the hot tub had a funny odor, almost like it didn';t have chlorine in it. Most hot tubs have strong chlorine odors, this one didn't.

It's Okay

The staff of the hotel and restaurant were very nice. The price was good and the happy hour and free brekky in the restaurant were hittin. Room had a microwave and fridge which was not mentioned on VRBO.The hotel is really old. The accent tiles in the room were cracked to the point where it wasn't quaint or adding character. Interior brick walls had a prison feel. Bedframes were noisy and mattresses were so soft my wife and I rolled to the middle like a taco. TV had weak signal and was frustrating to watch and wasn't smart so no way around the bad service. Bathroom was weirdly situated and the old constantly slightly open window made for a weird relationship with anybody who walked by while using the shower or toilet. Toilet ran constantly if you didn't jiggle the handle after the flush until the tank filled. They charged a daily resort fee that was not mentioned on VRBO. This is nothing in the neighborhood of a resort. It's an old hotel on a busy road that the old walls do nothing to insulate from the sound of the traffic, sirens or random jam bands practicing somewhere close by. The hotel's association with Choice seems to be limited to the mounted soap and branded towels. Doesn't look like any improvements have been made in a long time.I'd stay here again if we brought the dog because places that let you bring pets are rare and expensive. On the other hand, if you add the surprise resort fee per day you may break even for a newer place away from the busy street.

Affordable, safe place to sleep

Our stay was fine. It was a good value for the cost with my VRBO points. This motel is affiliated with "Choice" hotels if loyalty options matter. The location is near stores and restaurants but also set apart from things so it seemed to be in a safe area of Tucson, confirmed by my family that lives there. The room was adequate, but in need of some updates for the ceiling water stains, lack of a fan in the small bathroom (and definitely not going to open the small window at eye level facing the sidewalk during a shower! The beds were very hard, one was squeaky. The pool area was beautiful. Breakfast was standard and limited in fresh fruit options. The front desk said there were unlimited free mimosas in the morning but I think he was joking as there were only orange juice dispensers. We had dinner one night but very few were in the restaurant so they had to open the kitchen to make us food (staff were otherwise socializing at the bar). The staff was friendly and accommodating when asked for assistance. Overall, nothing spectacular but nothing horrible. Exactly what we needed for a quick weekend away.
