The cabin was very nice. It is a very peaceful spot. The drive to the cabin from the highway takes a little while and the roads are rough in spots. The driveway is very steep and you need a running start for sure if you don't have 4-wheel drive. Convenient enough to Estes Park.
Rocky Mountain National Park (near) Secluded Cabin
Located about 30 minutes from Estes Park and RMNP, this secluded cabin is an ideal refuge from the crowds after a busy day of exploring.
We visited in September, and while it may not be necessary to traverse the road to the cabin in a four wheel drive vehicle, having 4WD will instill confidence.
The covered outdoor porch is a nice place to relax in the evening. Some type of ventilation in the kitchen would be helpful while cooking. The smoke alarms are sensitive. An outdoor grill would be a nice addition, but I can see how that may attract animals. The showers have strong water pressure and the bedrooms provided a pleasant night's sleep. Overall, we enjoyed the cabin and had a wonderful Colorado experience!
