This house was comfortable and cozy for our 2 families. Plenty of room for the kids to play. Great location near Moose Lake and Shawnee Peak. Very convenient.
Unlike a past post, the place was clean. The owner was very nice communicating with us before we stayed. There were plenty of places to sit so our entire group could be at a table to eat. Couches were comfortable. Beds were a bit hard, but I like mine soft. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed to cook. Oops, there was no pepper. The fireplace was wonderful. TP was missing form the bathroom, but we quickly found the supply closet. The power went out in the bathrooms only. We found the circuit board and had no further trouble. I would stay there again.
Great area for visiting the Fryeburg Fair, not too far from Conway NH and around the corner from a couple hiking areas, ski areas and of course pretty much on a lake. This house was very spacious with a great main floor and outdoor space with fire pit. The Host was very responsive and helpful with questions. We brought our own towels and linens as instructed and just used their washer and dryer. We really did have a nice stay but I will say the place is a little outdated and you might want to bring some of your own kitchen supplies like pots and pans since some of the supplies we weren't comfortable using (damaged Teflon). Knowing this and being prepared, I asked the group if they would stay there for a ski trip and they said yes. I would recommend to the owner to do a little more cleaning, like the high ceiling fans that are probably tough to get to but 100% need to be done. Also, the couches were extremely worn looking so we covered them with blankets to sit on.
The house had everything! Lots of beds and lots of space. The Great room was perfect for everyone to gather and hang out playing games and cooking food for 10. Very nice fire pit area and no close neighbors. Access to the lake/ beach and the community pool and tennis courts was perfect for the hot summer days. Only 15 min to town which has everything you need from grocery stores and coffee shops to move theater and bars. 15 min the the trail head for Mt. Pleasant which has the best views of the White mountains! We will definitely be back to experience this place again!

Disliked: Listing accuracy
Great location, Adequate House
The house did what we needed and gave us a place to stay near Shawnee Peak. The heat worked, and the house was clean. However, the listing is not accurate as there is no hot tub available, and the kitchen was lacking some basic gadgets. Furthermore, the house smelled like smoke when we arrived, even though it is listed as a non-smoking property. Nevertheless, we had a good weekend.
The house was a wonderful home and there was space for all! We had everything we needed and more! And the property manager was always available and always helpful!
The place was filthy when we arrived. I called the property owner who said he would try and contact the house cleaner but he couldn't reach her. We had to clean ourselves before we could even more our things in. Nothing was clean, the refrigerator was filled with other people's leftovers, the freezer was also filled. There were stacks of personal items left around which we tried to move out of the way. AND we were charged a cleaning fee!!! I'm very disappointed that VRBO would even list this property.
The house was as advertised and we had nice relaxing stay. I wish the listing was more clear about community swimming pool. I was under the impression that the pool was on property.
We had a wonderful time at this property. Set back in the woods, the quiet and secluded feel of the location allowed us to all decompress for the weekend. Plenty of space to spread out, both inside and out, and it's just a short walk to the beach for those hot summer days. Looking forward to next year!

Hot tub broken, house not cleaned, lack of communication, refund issues
After vacationing in this area for the last 20 years, our go-to house had been sold, forcing us to look for an alternative. Our only "must-have" is a hot tub. We had high hopes for this location based on the reviews, but unfortunately we were notified 24 hours before our trip that the hot tub was not working. After finally being able to speak to the owner (his voicemail was full), we found out that he had known about this well before the day he had told us about it, leaving us no time to cancel and find a new location, which we would have been able to do if we were at least warned that it was not working and he was attempting to find someone to fix it when he found out about it.
The house itself was fine, however was not cleaned prior to our arrival. The fireplace was filled with ash, the floors hadn't been swept/vacuumed - there was old pasta and dirt on the kitchen floor, etc... paying a lot for a cleaning fee, we'd expect it to be cleaner than it was.
The owner did offer to refund the hot tub charge since it was broken and told us that if we booked again for next year, the charge would be waived and would "guarantee" a working hot tub, however shortly after, communication went quiet while trying to get the refund, leaving several unanswered messages through VRBO.
I contacted VRBO directly to attempt to get the refund. They read through my messages and confirmed that the owner had not replied to any of my several messages over the last week. They reached out to him directly and gave him 48 hours to respond.
After 24 hours, the owner finally responded asking for my address of where to send the refund check, to which I immediately sent it over. I was hopeful this would be over soon. Not so.
A week had gone by with no sign of the check. I reached out to the owner again to see when it was sent out and was told it was sent out the day I had given my address. After waiting another week, still no sign of the check.
I messaged again to ask where the check was and if it was easier to send it via Venmo, paypal, etc... the owner replied again asking for my Venmo (which basically proved to me he was lying about ever sending out a check). I sent him my Venmo immediately. Another day went by and there was no sign of a Venmo refund...
Eventually the refund came through VRBO on the card that was used to rent the property.
TL:DR: House was ok, do not rent if you are looking for a working hot tub or good owner communication.

Girls weekend
My friends and I, a total of 8 spent the weekend in Bridgeton , Maine for a Girls Weekend. This home was just perfect to catch up and do Christmas shopping. We used the hot tub for relaxation a pool table and game room for fun times! Wev especially enjoyed the large stone fireplace. The living room is spacious and cozy and the view is spectacular to view nature in its natural form. Ed the owner is only a phone call away.

A Gem in Maine
Just spent the first week in August '15 at this great home in lakes region in Maine. I must say this house is just perfect for travelers who want to enjoy all the wonderful surroundings this part of Maine has to offer. The amenities listed and the activities listed are accurate. The house was clean and spacious and the layout of the rooms had something for all of my party to enjoy. Hot tub and pool table were great offerings.
Lake, pool, basketball and tennis courts, area kayaking, area
zip lining. This place has it all. Ed is the owner and not rental agent which makes detailed needs just a phone call away.....
and he answers the phone too!!!!!!!! We, my "kids" and grandchildren voted to make this a yearly, perhaps biyearly, come back to place. Do not hesitate to stay here.

Our 4th of July stay
My husband and I stayed here with our 9 month old son and four close friends. We stayed for 4 nights and we were sad to leave! This might just become our annual vacation house! The pictures do not do this place justice! Great location for family and/or friends!
