Bute Arran offers a private setting yet only minutes from the bustling tourist village of Baddeck Cape Breton. Bute Arran Cottage was recently completed offering full hard wood flooring with stone inserts,all wood interior with a wrap around deck for morning coffee or romantic evening watching sun set from its own private hot tub. Bright and airy the cottage offers AC , BOSE Sound ,SAT TV , High Speed WiFi.
Gas Grill and wooden loungers and box plants add to the large deck for guest enjoyment. Stainless Steel appliances , leather sofas and 50 inch flat screen.
Bright large windows with screens open to create solitude of sea breeze and sound on summer evenings.Two queen bed rooms ,one enclosed adjacent to the four pc bath on the main floor while the second bedroom is a open loft. Suitable for four persons but generally a couples retreat.Trash and Towel Service at main lodge four driveways away. Daily maid service available $.

Fabulous!
Wonderful cottage; spotless, comfortable. Everything was new; kitchen was very well equipped but we ate out. Lovely modern/clean bathroom. Beautiful location overlooking the lake. Quick 2 minute drive to town/restaurants/Bell museum. Perfect place to use as a home base to explore Cape Breton! Only cons: no washer/dryer in cottage. Bed pillows weren’t comfortable for us. Be sure to visit the High Wheeler roastery/cafe in town; terrific coffee and breakfast/lunch/sweets.

Host did not provide check in information until 10:30 am the day of check in despite numerous attempts to connect. VRBO was also not helpful in trying to connect with the host. No washer/dryer which would have been helpful on our travels, I should have checked for that. Please note this is a loft set up for second bedroom which gets very hot. The place is very expensive and overpriced for the place.

Beautiful new cottage in a great location and a hot tub
This is a great place to stop on a Cabot Trail road trip. The cottage was new, clean and had everything we needed including a hot tub to relax those muscles from a long day of hiking. We enjoyed our stay.

A perfect first on Baddeck Bay
This beautiful cottage exceeded our expectations and was the perfect location for two nights in the area. Star gazing in the hot tub, coffee on the deck to see the sunrise and we discovered that across the bay is Sydney where my grandfather called home for his first 7 years.

Cabot Trail Getaway
It was a great spot for our last night on the trail. Had a dip in the hot tub before heading in to town for dinner, then star gazed on the front deck afterwards.

Wonderful stay!
We had a delightful stay at Baddeck thanks to John's charming waterfront cottage. The cottage is a few minutes drive from the center of town and maintained very well. John was very helpful and gave all the information we needed to travel and dine around the place. Thanks John.

Beautiful clean, large, well appointed cottage overlooking Bras d’Or lake. It is well situated near local amenities. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Definitely would love the opportunity to visit again!

We enjoyed the cottage! It had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and using the hot tub! Communication with the owner was great and we enjoyed talking with him. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful part of the world
Great location and excellent suggestions by John re restaurants, things to do and tips about the Cabot trail. We also enjoyed the ceilidh at the Gaelic college, another excellent recommendation by John. The hot tub on the deck was a pleasant bonus with a beautiful view.

BE CAREFUL - Didn’t get the place we paid for
Essentially the listing you’re looking at right now and all the photos (Bute Arran) is NOT the location we ended up with even though we booked and paid for it. We were not on the water, it does not sleep 6, it simply didn’t have the amenities of the place booked. We got there and noticed there were people at the place we rented, when we checked in we were told you’re at the Bay Croft and were given directions. I didn’t remember the name of the place exactly so we went on our way. We drove up and noticed there were people at the place we booked so we went back to the check in. The lady there then apologized and told us we’d have to speak with John (owner) and called him for us and told him what happened. She handed me the phone and he simply said “I’m not interested in you guys staying, I booked it wrong I’ll refund you and you can go” after I said “well no we travelled all the way out here, we’ll stay at the Bay Croft but we need some money back” he said “not interested.” We would have no where else to go and were far from home so I said “ok we’ll stay and pay” conversation ended. We were staying at the place we didn’t rent for the same price that was not as nice, or large. John called back shortly after, apologized and offered $100 back which was nice. Not sure what caused the rude attitude on the first phone call. To add to it, we ran into and spoke with the people at the other cabin that we actually did rent. They had no hot tub or wifi, which is listed in the amenities! The Bay Croft has the hot tub. Just be careful and speak with the owner to make double sure you’re getting the place you’re asking for before you book and travel, or find another spot. Cape Breton is beautiful!

Wife and i along with brother/sister-in-law (two couples) spent three nights at the property. Owner (John) was extremely helpful and also a lot of fun. The property was perfect - just as shown in pictures. Very clean and well maintained. The views are spectacular from the living room as well as the deck. Very comfortable for two couples. The property is perfectly positioned to explore the Cabot Trail. Baddeck is a small town that is very picturesque and provides most amenities (grocery store, pharmacy, gas, restaurants) needed for a relaxing trip. Our only regret is that we didn’t have another day or two in the area. Highly recommended!

Great property, views and location
Spent 4 days here. Property clean, well maintained and appropriately updated. Had almost everything you would need for extended stay. Inside had two sleeping locations, both comfortable and roomy. Bathroom great size and functional for two at a time. Kitchen had everything you would need. We did eat breakfast there each morning. Living area comfortable with great view of the lake. We did not utilize satellite tv but WiFi was great for both of us at same time. Deck on front and one side of cottage. Hot tub great for cool night. Deck also had ample seating and gas grill. Location 2 minutes from village and Cabot trail. Trail a most do in area and village has restaurants, shops, groceries, gas, museum and locals are very personable people. The owner a few properties away is charismatic and informative of area. The only thing we didn’t have that could of come in handy at property was an ironing board and iron. Overall highly recommend this cottage as an option for extended stay in area.
