Fantastic condo and great location

The owner of this condo, Aron, met me when I arrived at his unit. Aron had anticipated my every need. There were plenty of Tide pods to use in his washer and I ran out of nothing during my five week stay.Aron was very responsive whenever I texted him with any questions. This condo is one block from the Main Street of Little Italy which is filled with terrific restaurants. My stay was much nicer then staying at a five star hotel.

Lovely condo in great location

We stayed six nights in January 2016. We have rented condos, homes and villas around the world, and this is one of the best. The condo is well appointed, comfortable, and spacious, and scrupulously clean. The manager, Aron, responds immediately to questions and problems. Noise from the nearby airport is very minimal. The condo is located in the heart of Little Italy, with many restaurants, brewpubs and cafes within walking distance. Restaurants range from traditional Italian American to nouveau Latino to mod fried chicken. It is a short walk to the harbor attractions, a longer but still doable walk to the Gaslamp District, and a short drive to Balboa Park. And, the trolley stops in the area. If you are in town on Saturday morning, the street market is superb, and there is a walking tour by Little Italy Tours that gives insight into the area.

Prime Location, Homey Condo

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at this condo and could not have been happier with our choice. Although we did not get to meet Aron when we arrived since he was out of town, he sent his friend Chris to warmly greet us. The condo is very nicely decorated and clean and I felt so much at home there that I even cooked many meals, did laundry and didn't even mind doing housework while on vacation. My husband used the well appointed gym several times and was pleased with the equipment, and really appreciated having a large parking space in the garage for our car. We rarely used our car since we could walk everywhere we wanted to go or catch the nearby trolley. It's only a fifteen minute walk/five minute bike ride to the Coronado ferry which takes you to a great bike/walk path. The building is very secure and the residents are very friendly, and the location is perfectly situated to take advantage of all Little Italy has to offer. I spoke with Aron before and during our stay and he couldn't have been more helpful or nicer answering my questions. Thank you Aron for the wine and chocolates you left for us, we even bought a couple bottles of the wine at Mona Lisa Italian Foods on our way out of town.

perfect for a longer stay

Aron is the perfect landlord. He replies very fast and helps, if you have any questions. This appartment is in the 4th floor and has the best view of any appartments there. You see some skyscrapers and look in the atrium with the terrace on the 2nd floor. I had enough space for my clothes, there is a large wardrobe and sideboard. The bathroom is big. In the kitchen everything is available for cooking. Maybe interesting tools in the apparment: you have water filter, Ironing board and Iron, in the bedroom a small table for homeoffice with a printer and a monitor, and a hairdryer with diffusor. The neighboors are very kind and it was quite. But the city is noisy, so you can hear traffic from planes and car signals and some noise from electrical machines (maybe air conditioners from ohter buildings), but with closed windows, it's quite. You need 7 min to the trolly (line blue and green). You need 25 min to the next big supermarket (Raplhs) in downtown. Two small italien supermarkets are near, maybe 5 min. The nearest bakery (Frost me) is my favorit and you need only 3 min. If you don't have a car, you need 50 min to the next beaches - Coroado Beach oder Mission Bay / Pacific Beach. This appartment has a garage. Conclusion: if you want to work, study or travel for al long time in San Diego, it's very good place to live.

Little Italy Amazingness

This is a good place for one or two people; it's a snug one bedroom apartment in an absolutely amazing location! You can walk out the door and down the street to be on the busiest street in Little Italy (India St) which is packed with restaurants, breweries, coffee houses, wine shops, and more. I highly recommend the cheese wheel pasta and the pizza at Monello (Bencotto also has cheese wheel pasta, but no pizza.) You can walk to the Little Italy Farmers' Market on Saturday mornings-I recommend the chorizo crepe with egg (cash only) and the tamales. Aron the host is great! He goes above and beyond with recommendations and suggestions on anything you are looking to do and is very responsive and helpful. He is very knowledgeable about visiting Mexico. We ended up visiting Tijuana with Wild Foodie Tours instead of by ourselves (which I also highly recommend). There is an MTS Trolley (the commuter train) station within walking distance. We used that to go to the border at San Ysidro-it's not a short ride, but it's nice to not have to drive. You can hear some noise in the condo from India St, but the place is pretty well sound proofed and it never bothered us. The ac does not distribute very well. You can really feel it in the main area, but it does not get to the bedroom too well. Keep the bathroom door closed all the time to help cool the bedroom more. We were able to get mail and packages delivered to the condo easily. Something to watch out for: if you don't close the entrance door to the condo by hand, it will slam shut quicker than you might expect. Also, there was work being done in the building for the second half of our stay, so we noticed a lot of extra dust coming in during that time. My husband worked from the condo while we were there with no issues from the fast internet through Zoom calls and all. The parking spot was great and secure. Even though the bedroom did not have complete blackout shades, they did a decent job keeping the light low in the morning. We did not have success using the shared grills for the building because they were heavily used and out of gas when we tried. We had luck using the small gym in the building, but it seemed to get busier later in the evening. Aron also had nice, classy touches to his place like crystal wine glasses and pyrex containers. This place is a phenomenal deal in an awesome location in San Diego, and we would definitely recommend it to others and stay here again ourselves!

We enjoyed revisiting Aron’s condo in Little Italy

We enjoyed revisiting Aron’s condo in Little Italy for a few months again this past winter. There are wonderful restaurants in the area and if you enjoy cooking, there are more new small grocery stores to meet your needs. The condo kitchen is well-equipped and Aron is a pleasure to deal with. The new piazza is beautiful and is bringing many more food choices to Little Italy along with a place to sit, enjoy the scenery and listen to the music. San Diego offers so many opportunities for visitors to enjoy themselves outside, whether walking, using transit or travelling by car. We look forward to returning.

Great Condo, Great Owner. Awesome Stay!!

This is a terrific condo – great location, beautifully decorated, and a wonderful owner. Staying in Little Italy was perfect for our extended vacation and this condo totally fit the bill. Multiple of good restaurants, grocery stores and Saturday’s Farmers Market were within easy walking distance. A little further walk got us over to the marine, Seaport Village or to the Gaslamp Entertainment District which provided evening entertainment. In the condo, everything we needed was available and the owner, Aron, said to let him know if anything was missing and he would provide it to us. The condo itself was well maintained and in the best location in the building – facing the inside courtyard. We cannot say enough good things about Aron. He met us at the condo upon our arrival and was extremely responsive and answered all our questions. He even returned our call when he was out of the country. We received excellent service from a very nice owner. Thank you, Aron, for sharing your condo. We are looking forward to our return trip.

Great Condo in Great Part of San Diego

Loved our stay at this condo. The unit has everything needed for a comfortable one-month stay, and Aron, the host, met us at the unit to help us get settled in. Little Italy is right in the heart of San Diego with restaurants, bars, cafes, and the waterfront just steps away. Wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

Great condo! Great location! Great city!

Another great visit to San Diego. We appreciate Aron's hospitality and how easy he is to reach if we need him. Thanks for the chocolate bars and the wine, Aron! We use public transportation a lot while we are in San Diego and the condo is very close to transit stops. The parking spot indoors is great when using a car and from the location, it is easy to access major highways. The unit has all the appliances and amenities we need. The location in Little Italy is wonderful. The neighborhood is vibrant, full of restaurants, coffee shops and lots of other interesting sites. Saturday visits to the weekly market are a must and we look forward to returning for another winter stay.

Excellent San Diego Home Away from Home!

I can highly recommend this well appointed penthouse condo with great amenities. Great location not only to Little Italy but to all the main attractions. There is a Little Italy stop for the hop on hop off trolley within walking distance that I would recommend for a great overview of the San Diego area for 1st time visitors. Garage parking, health club, terrace, speedy internet and within walking distance of a plethora of good eateries. Aron is a wonderful host who is available for any questions and checks in to ensure you are having an enjoyable stay. THANK YOU Aron for your generous hospitality. I obviously enjoyed my stay and am looking forward to staying with you again when I return to San Diego.

Clean and comfortable stay in central location.

We are a young couple travelling in San Diego for leisure. The condo was clean and comfortable. It has everything that you could possibly need: full kitchen, beach towels, hairdryer, w/d, air con, large bathroom with bathtub (for those with kids), parking spot, etc. There is also free parking right outside the building in case you need it (do check the signs as different sections have different restrictions). We had to park outside one night due to cleaning in the parking lot. Listing description regarding layout, location and amenities were accurate. Property was clean and well-maintained. Aron was very responsive and has great customer service; he even leaves you with chocolate and a bottle of wine to start off your stay! There is also a info booklet in the unit prepared by Aron. Check-in and check-out was very smooth without any issues. Location was also fantastic. About 10 min drive from airport. 10 min drive to Balboa Park or you can walk in about 20 min (we did that and took Uber back). The drive to Coronado is also very close (10 or 15 min) and has a massive beach. The condo is in the heart Little Italy so all the wonderful restaurants are only a 3 min walk away. We highly recommend Ironside Fish and Oyster Bar and iDessert is worth an experience (get the Vegas ice!). Next to the building is a new yoga studio with cold pressed juice (good but pricey). On Saturdays, there is a farmer's market about 3 blocks away (bring cash). The waterfront area is also walking distance! We felt very safe in the area. On our first night, we were wondering around at midnight and had no issues. We enjoyed our stay. The only minor issue was that the fire alarm went off one night at 1am but that could happen anywhere. We would definitely recommend this property. Thank you Aron for hosting us!

Top Ten Things about this long-term Vacation Rental

Farmers’ Market on Saturdays, Coffee (Influx around the corner does great breakfast and lunch as well, also try Pappalecco on State St), Restaurants galore (Mimmo’s – a cross between Disneyland and Vegas / if you don’t eat in, their takeaway pizzas are better than the storefront slicerias, Indigo Grill - Date Night special on Tuesdays, Davanti Enoteca – for Happy Hour with delightful hidden back patio, Queenstown Pub) • If you have a car, which you hardly need in San Diego*, there is a designated secure underground parking spot • Close to all transit options – bus/trolley/rail, airport is a $3-7 Uber ride, 2 Decobike stations within 1 block http://www.decobike.com/sandiego/ • *WALK to Coronado ferry (20 min), Gaslamp area (15 min), Balboa Park (20 min) • Scrupulously CLEAN • EVERYTHING provided – towels, soap, tissues, toilet paper, hangers, washing up and laundry supplies, cling wrap, paper towels, trash bags – haha even a Ralph’s points card to save on groceries and the bathmat is big and squishy • Nicely updated / decorated – appliances (laundry!), big TV (and another in bedroom), A/C, comfy bed, lots of bureau drawers • Building and Amenities – Quiet top/5th floor (opposite side from airplane noise) with some city view, secure, well-maintained and clean, second floor patio with view for grilling/reading/relaxing, exercise room • WiFi fast and free - numerous plug-ins / outlets for phones and chargers, free Canada and USA calling • The Check-In information and Info binder is very thorough, likewise Check-Out procedure so quick and easy • Prompt return of security deposit (which is a reasonable amount) • Aron, the Owner • did I say ARON ?! Great Place to Stay in San Diego

Lovely condo. Super location. Great city. We were so pleased with our time in Aron's condo. The building is secure and the top floor location is quiet. It is so easy to get anywhere from there to all the many attractions in San Diego. The location in Little Italy is friendly and charming and we enjoyed our many walks through the area. Delicious restaurants are just around the corner and there are lots of choices. We are looking forward to returning next winter. Thanks, Aron.

Great place. Convenient location, easy to find, very clean, interesting neighborhood, good restaurants nearby. Don't miss the Fire Station Museum just down the street.. Great experience!

Aron was really great meeting us there and showing us around the place. Very organized and had great suggestions for things in the neighbourhood... Which was also awesome. Right in little Italy downtown. Short walk to the water as well and easy access to transit. We had rented a car from the airport and had the parking and found it easy to get around. We'd definitely want to rent the condo again on our next visit to San Diego!

Great place to stay

We enjoyed our stay in San Diego immensely and in particular, loved Little Italy. It is a great place just to walk around in, and has some wonderful cafes and markets if you’re in the mood for Italian food! On more than one occasion we made pizza with fresh vegetables from the farmers market, and dough and fresh pepperoni and mozzarella cheese from a local Italian market. India Street is fascinating and the Farmers Market a few blocks away is one of the best we have been to around the country (the Farmers Market also has some wonderful live music on Saturdays too!). Aron was very helpful, an excellent person to deal with. He told us that if there was ever anything we needed to contact him. There were a few items that came up during the course of our stay that we needed, and he was very quick to get back with us and delivered the items to the apartment himself. As other reviews mentioned, Aron had a bottle of wine and some wonderful chocolate bars waiting for us upon our arrival. A nice touch! This apartment worked out quite well for us; it is very quiet on the top floor of the building. It does have parking but we didn’t have a car so we walked to the trolley (light rail) station in Little Italy. From there, you can take a train or bus to about any place in the county. The rental has supplies that are many times not included such as laundry detergent, trash bags, etc. It is nice to have a washer, dryer and dishwasher in the apartment; and also a printer and various ‘office supplies’ that can come in handy. We were especially pleased with the high quality of the apartment and the building for a very reasonable price. We grilled out and ate dinner on the second floor common courtyard several times. It has some nice outdoor seating that doesn’t seem to get used much. We are not sure when we might get back to San Diego, but if it works out we will plan on staying here again.

Location, location, location

The location of this apartment was perfect for exploring San Diego. As other reviewers have mentioned, the ease of mass transit transportation and walk ability of the area make this a sweet spot. Aron is conscientious, easy to work with, and attentive to any needs. The cozy apartment is well supplied and clean. We had everything we needed. The building is also well maintained and secure. Little Italy is a coffee lovers dream! We recommend Cafe Italia and Influx. Don't miss the Saturday morning farmer's market. This is a great listing.

Excellent in many ways!

My husband and I stayed here for one month on two occasions. Each time was great! The location is extremely convenient to the airport, downtown, restaurants and Trolley. It would be possible to walk from the airport to the condo--it's that close. However, there is no intrusive airplane noise. The condo is one block from India St. which is the main street for Little Italy. There are many restaurants and bars lining both sides of the street for about 4-5 blocks. One do our favorites is Zia's. Not all restaurants are Italian; there's sushi, burgers, Indian, etc. too. Also, there an authentic Italian deli/market within three blocks, Mona Lisa. Often, we would buy a bottle of wine, slices of prepared lasagne and bread then head to the condo to feast. The deli sells olives, salami, cheeses and every kind of Italian delicacy. The Trolley stop is 5-6 blocks away and takes you all over town. We rode to Fashion Mall, the historic San Diego Mission, the Gas Lamp/Convention Center district and Olde Towne. It's very easy to use. Also, it's easy to walk to the boardwalk running adjacent Harbor Blvd. Walking along the boardwalk takes you to Seaport Village in about a mile. The condo itself is well equipped with basics in the kitchen. Condiments like salt, pepper and a few tea bags plus other things were available for our use. It's very convenient to have the washer/dryer and they are simple to operate. Condo was quiet and the bed is comfortable. Aron was highly responsive to our questions and took care of any concerns in a timely way. He is very friendly and affable. We highly recommend this condo!

A frequent traveler myself--for both business and leisure, I've used VRBO on many occasions with great results. I'm excited to now return the favor and make my home available for others to enjoy.

Why they chose this property

Little Italy is centrally located with a cozy neighborhood feel and all the benefits of a big city. As the first owner of the property, I purchased this condo in late 2006. It is close to the vibrant downtown Gaslamp District scene. Little Italy is home to some of the city's best restaurants and cafes, steps from the unit. When returning home, it was always an easy hop from the airport and my stress from traveling melted away every time I saw the giant Little Italy sign welcoming me back to the neighborhood.

What makes this property unique

I have come to know many of the restaurant owners (and tried almost all of them) over the years. I'll make sure to suggest some great places for you to try while you are visiting.
