Really nice property in Williamsburg VA

We really enjoyed our stay. It's a great location, easy drive to downtown Williamsburg and William & Mary. The room was cozy, and we also enjoyed the fire pit and pool. We would definitely stay here again!

Clean, quiet environment. Everything you need is in the room. Close to major activities

Friendly stay, called and checked on us frequently. I would recommend you bring your own pillows...theirs wasn't so comfortable. Oh watch out for the sales people, they will try to get you to attend a presentation that held us for 4 hours. Other then that we enjoyed our stay

It is a place where you can truly relax.

The over all experience was good, the room was clean, only thing is they didn't have a beverage machine. They did not have drinking water on the property.

Changed my perception...in a good way

Wasn't really that excited about staying at a property like this, i was visiting for a golf tourney and needed a place to stay with 'something', 'anything' to do for my wife. She really enjoyed property, the pool, complementary bbq lunch, the grounds. (the practice putting green was NOT maintained...i was bummed). The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The exception, it was an 'adjoining room' and the door between was insufficient to afford any quiet time when people merely talked next door. Their party was a rude awakening at 1:30am, and lost an hour of sleep trying to get security to address it. The location was far more convenient than I anticipated, maybe its just that easy to get around? but lots to do and eat and shop nearby.

noisy, pushy

The experience starts after you are asked to talk to the concierge to finish your check in. The very nice concierge will transition from assisting you with what you would like to do in town to attempting to get you to go to a sales presentation. If that does not work, a backup will arrive to play slightly bad cop (a little pushier approach). Once in the room, the phone started ringing. We unplugged the phone. You've been warned. The rooms are part of a multi-building complex. Each building looks like a pair of town houses with separate parking and entrances, but there are 4 units per town house - 8 per building. Our unit was joinable to the neighboring unit via a door, enabling you to rent both together as a suite. This turns out to be poorly executed, as almost any sound in the other unit will be heard in your unit. Our neighbors liked to watch TV - sitcoms. The laugh track was interminable. There's no use complaining about the noise, as unless the other occupants are silent, you will hear everything that is going on. Absolutely no privacy, and much more noise than in a standard hotel room. The entrance door to our unit had no noise blocking capability either. There was a 1/4 inch gap that let light in all around the door, and about a 1/2 inch gap under the door. At night, this flooded the room with ample light. A little weather stripping would go a long way. The refrigerator was practically useless. It could keep things kind of cool, but not safely refrigerated. It rained, and the gutters must not have been adequate, as water from the roof started splattering on the HVAC unit that was right outside the window, beating it like a drum and making a terrible racket. The tub did not drain properly. Taking a shower meant standing in water. The shower water left us feeling not clean. Since the tub took so long to drain, anything in the water had time to settle out. There was quite a bit of dirt in the bottom of the tub after it drained, we think from the water. We ended up cutting our stay short, but were unable to obtain a refund, even of the unused dates.

Misleading

I should have know the price advertised was too good to be true. If I had realized that the rental was attached to a time share I would not have touched it with a ten-foot pole. I did not like being pressured and bribed to purchase a time share.

Excellent Value

Everything was as we expected. It was quiet, plenty of parking, and the room was nice and clean. Everything you need is in the room, with ample space to walk around. Only complaint, no q-tips in the bathroom. Would definitely recommend.

Weekend at Wydham Patriots' Place

When we arrived at Wyndham Patriots' Place it was dark which made it difficult to see the entrance sign. We were warned about this prior to our visit though, and we just had to stay alert when we were nearing the resort. The resort was beautiful, both the grounds and the units. Check-in was a breeze. They were prompt and prepared for our arrival. The concierge offered us valuable information for our weekend in Williamsburg- tips and coupons for restaurants, shopping, sightseeing, etc. Our unit (a studio) was the perfect size for 2 people. The room was clean, tastefully decorated, spacious and updated. We were very impressed...until we went to sleep. There was another room over top of ours and every time they walked our ceiling squeaked... a lot. My husband attributed this to a construction flaw- not a problem with how loud they were walking. I'm a very deep sleeper, but this was very loud and annoying. The second night we were there, we contacted the front desk about this issue, mainly to make them aware of it, and they offered to move us to another room, but none were available. The location of the resort was perfect- 15 minutes from Busch Gardens and about 5-10 minutes from Colonial Williamsburg. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wyndham Patriots' Place; we look forward to going back and to recommending this place to others in the future.
