About this property

Cozy retreat: 1 mile from Old Forge. Close to all nature. Dog friendly.

Come enjoy the perfect blend of privacy and convenience in our sparkling 1500 sf log home. You'll be nestled on 3 secluded acres, but with all the conveniences and fun of downtown Old Forge close by. Truly the ideal place to rest, reconnect, and play.

Full week only in July and August: Saturday 3PM to Saturday 10AM. All else 3 day minimum.

HOME FEATURES:
- 3 bedrooms: 1 large master with king bed and full bathroom; and 2 good-sized bedrooms (1 queen bed, the other with full bed and bunk bed) sharing a bathroom.
- Inviting living room with spacious entertaining area.
- Kitchen opens to living area. Huge island for food service.
- Laundry on main floor.
- Upstairs only.
- Wood stove does not function properly so we have it locked (ventilation)

NOTE: Well-behaved dogs welcome. We do charge an additional $75 cleaning fee to ensure that our home will be as fur and odor-free for the next guest as it was for you! :)

Fall weekend in Old Forge

This was the perfect place for us. The house is extremely clean and is in a great location. It’s just a couple minutes from downtown Old Forge and there is many places to hike nearby. 100% recommend staying here.

Very nice stay

This was a very nice cabin. Everything was set up well and was very clean. We had a fire at the fire ring one night, saw some deer that were virtually tame, enjoyed watching the chipmunks and squirrels, and relaxed around the cabin when we weren't busy in Old Forge.

Family Getaway

We had a great week away in our favorite area to visit. The cabin was cozy with a giant kitchen and plenty of cookware that we made food all week. The boys lived the bunk beds and we enjoyed the layout of the cabin so the sleeping was not disturbed by laundry.Great place to stay that is well maintained

What a fantastic time I had celebrating my 70th birthday at this perfect “cozy retreat”! Exceptionally clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. All you need to bring is food! PS…our 2 labs loved it too!

Fourth Time as Amazing as the First

This was our fourth stay at this property and it was another amazing stay. The home is just beautiful and perfect for our family. We also have family that stays in the nearby campground when we come to town and this home has plenty of space for us to host them for meals and playing games. The location is perfect because you are surrounded by woods but only a minute from town.Jody and Brian are so kind and helpful and this is definitely our home away from home.

Fall Greatness

The property is just as pictured. Loved the Adirondack feel with all the furniture. Kitchen is very spacious and well equipped. Bedrooms also were very spacious. We all loved the comfortable couches in living area. Our party included four adults and two children. Plenty of room for everyone. Will definitely return!

We just returned from a fantastic week away at this beautiful camp. Wonderful, clean accommodations that are close to town, but nestled in the woods so you still get all of the peace and quiet you need to recharge. All four of us were sad to leave, but are looking forward to returning!

Great Stay

We were thrilled with the cabin and property; very clean, nicely decorated, with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. We played games, watched Netflix, kayaked, hiked and the kids swam at the beach. We grilled (suggest the grill brush be replaced), and enjoyed evening campfires and s’mores with the grandchildren. Thanks Brian and Jody for sharing your lovely mountain retreat with us!

Wonderfully stocked home with beautiful furnishings!

We loved staying here - the only thing that would have made it absolutely perfect was a water view and a potato masher!!! The proximity to Old Forge was great and there was plenty to do. We did see deer across the street on our last day! All in all, it was great!!

Family reunion

We attended a family reunion in Inlet and this was the perfect spot for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely secluded camp in Old Forge. The cabin was comfortable for our family for the week. The kitchen had everything we needed for our trip. We appreciated Jody's quick responses to questions. But most of all, the beds were comfortable for our backs. That was wonderful. I highly recommend this property!!!!

Wonderful family vacation at a great place!

Our family vacation was like home away for home. Everything you could possibly need was right there. The home was absolutely beautiful and the surroundings were great. We had nightly camp fires and mid day walks in the woods. All the nature we wanted and just minutes (right down the road) from Old Forge. Jody (home owner) was very accommodating and helpful with making our visit great. I would highly recommend vacationing here so others too, can experience an awesome getaway at this truly beautiful home.

Home Away From Home

This was our second stay at this property, and will definitely not be our last. It is so comfortable and enjoyable for our entire family, including our dogs. Everything was clean and ready for us when we checked in. We enjoyed the firepit and the many surrounding activities. One thing I absolutely love about the location of this property is that that you are incredibly close to downtown Old Forge, but you feel like you are in the middle of the woods. Thank you to Jody and Brian for sharing their beautiful property with us again!

The house was beautiful. Had everything we needed and more.

The house was very close to old forge and not far from Inlet. Very comfortable place. Awesome scenery. Only suggestion would be more outdoor lighting. Hard to see around the fire pit if you forgot lanterns like we did! Other than that not a single complaint! Would 100% rent this place again! Thanks!

Cozy cabin in the mountains

Let me preface this review by saying I have stayed in multiple rental properties over the years and this one by far was the best. It was spotless, family friendly, met all expectations of the listing and had open communication with the owners when needed. We came to celebrate my husband’s 30th birthday and it was his best birthday yet and one to remember. It was also family friendly which was important for our ten month old son- it came equipped with a baby gate and everything. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us we created memories which will never be forgotten !

More road noise than expected

Pro: close to Old Forge; nice campfire area and plenty of firewood; wonderful appliances in a very adequate kitchen. Cons: dim lighting in bedrooms and living room; road noise; private beach not easily accessible. Fridge not completely empty -mostly condiments a door full (This might be a pro for some; first time we ever encountered this in all our rentals)

Why they chose this property

We are looking forward to retiring in the Adirondacks in 15-20 years. This property has plenty of land and is perfectly situated between beach access and snowmobile trail access. We have never lived so close to groceries or numerous dining establishments.
