Pigeon River Hideaway on the Little Pigeon River, Smoky Mountains
Pigeon River Hideaway is located on the Little Pigeon River between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Gorgeous views of the river from the deck, screened in porch with porch swing and both upstairs bedrooms. The best rapids on the entire river are directly in front of the rustic chalet. On the upper level is two bedrooms and bathroom, which includes a 2 person Jacuzzi. The main level includes a great room with satellite HD TV, DVD/VCR, sofa, dining room and fireplace. Also on the main level is a fully equipped kitchen and additional bathroom. On the lower level is another bedroom with its own private deck to the river and an additional shower.
The rustic cabin is secluded from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas but close enough for easy access. Relax on the deck and watch the river go by or read a book on the porch swing.
Children under 16 are free. Additional couples are $30/night. For a vacation to get away from it all but enjoy all the activities that Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the Great Smoky Mountains have to offer.

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin is so beautifully built on the river. Just sitting on the breakfast nook and looking out is worth all the money paid. Thank you for making this available to rent to us.
We have been coming to pigeon forge on vacation for over 15 years and this was by far the best place we have stayed. The house is beautiful and the view to die for. We enjoyed the sound of the river and playing in the river. The house is well stocked with supplies and very clean. We can not wait to come again next year.
The property was clean and well kept. The location is perfectly situated next to the Little Pigeon River at the start of rapids which created a pleasant sound as the water ran past the cabin. Communication with the owner was excellent. I highly recommend this property for anyone wanting a quiet get away with a little fishing experience.
We had an absolutely amazing vacation at this gorgeous location just outside Smokey Mountain National Park. The sound of the river lulled us to sleep each evening. There is only a neighbor or 2 nearby and barely visible from this cabin. The river is refreshing on a hot day and the fishing was good as well. Each day was an adventure in the Smokey’s. We did several waterfall hikes and saw many bears in the park. Whitewater rafting was a thrill! I could have easily stayed another week! I’d give the place 6 stars if I could.
We absolutely LOVED staying at your home! The views and the calming sounds of the water were so relaxing. We stayed all week and it was so relaxing and nice that we only left the cabin one day for a few hours. Definitely recommend!
We hiked various trails in the northeast part of GSMNP during our stay. It was wonderful to come home to a the screen porch and the lovely, comfty beds each night. Especially loved the sound of the river, enormous picture windows in the bedrooms and the moonlight streaming in!
Owners were incredibly accommodating. The property is located at a beautiful location on the river. Loved sitting in the screened in porch and listening to the river. We played games out there and loved it!! Did some fishing as well and had luck with trout.
Great proximity to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge without being too close to the crowds. We were able to visit Smoky Mountains, North Carolina, both GT and PF and truly loved the experience!!
Great opportunity to rest and unwind from the stresses of the working world. House is fully furnished to enjoy your stay. Owners are only a text or phone calls away. Laying in bed at night listening to the river flow over the rocks is better than any sound machine. Highly recommended.
The location was beautiful. Some might consider the road too windy but that’s what you get in the mountains! Sleeping to the soothing sound of the river was so relaxing. Lots of steep steps to get to any of the bedrooms. Well stocked and close to everything in the area from Gatlinburg to Pigeon Forge.
From the moment we drove down the steep, tree covered driveway, we could hear the water and we knew we were somewhere special! Then we saw the view of the creek, rapids, and rocks- just WOW! The house is very charming comfortable, and super clean. My kids loved playing in the creek, I loved sitting on the screened-in porch drinking hot coffee and reading my book. We all left rested and recharged, a true mountain retreat!
Very clean cabin, comfortable beds, outstanding views from porches and windows, everything provided that a family could need and enjoy while on vacation, and a perfect spot for kids to play and swim in the river! Driving from Texas, we couldn’t have asked for more in a vacation cabin! When we weren’t visiting GSMNP, and so many sights, we were more so enjoying staying home and playing in the river (kids catching minnows, swimming, looking at rocks, birds, lizards, exploring and adventuring over and around the large rocks and boulders etc), we enjoyed many meals and family game time on the screened-in porch! There is so much to see and do in the area, but honestly our favorite place was just family time at this cabin! If we get a chance to return to the area, we would LOVE to stay here!! Thank you so much for the wonderful memories!!
We had such a good time! The location was nice and quiet. I miss the sounds of the rushing water already! Lynn was wonderful to deal with. Love this cozy cabin. Will be staying here again.
Location is outside of the hubbub of Pigeon Forge, but still with convenient (20 minute) access. Smokey Mountains are also nearby (also about 20 minutes). Don't miss Preacher's BBQ or Delauder's BBQ. You have to get the sausage at Delauders.
We visited in the Spring, and this property is overlooking a dramatic part of the river. It is very beautiful, but with all of the rapids right there, it is quite loud. Later in the year, it might be less noisy with less water.
All of the amenities worked as expected.
Rest and relaxation is the way to go at this well maintained cabin. Owner is always available for questions. The cabin’s kitchen is stocked with everything you need if you wish to cook. The fishing is good and the sound of the river is without explanation. I’ll be visiting again next year. Gatlinburg is only a beautiful 20 minute ride away.
We enjoyed our stay here. Everything was as advertised, clean and the owner was responsive. The river in the fall setting was a highlight of the stay and we will definitely be back.
View is beautiful, Cabin is not accommodating for people with physical limitations.
It was the view that intrigued me to book this place! Outstanding, beautiful, and peaceful! The sounds of the water very relaxing. The cabin is on a tight, winding road about 25 minutes outside of Seiverville in the foothills. There are 3 floors , top floor has 2 bedrooms connected by jacuzzi tub and toilet. Beds are saggy, pillows lumpy and overstuffed…so bring your own! No ceiling fans in the bedrooms…so bring a bedside fan. Blinds in the bedrooms are bamboo shades that are smaller than the window and allow a lot of light in the room, especially from the outdoor Mercury light. Stairs are very short to step on and no hand rails anywhere. I feared falling every time I used them!
The basement bedroom has a nice balcony, but steep, short steps to get down to it and again…no railings! I planned on staying in that room, but having Long Hauler Covid and Heart Failure I would have had to go up those steep stairs with no railings, through the living area, up another 2 steps to the laundry room bathroom! Why, because the attached basement bathroom had no toilet…just a shower! Any person with heart/lung disease cannot physically trek those steps with nocturnal urinary urgency! So disappointing! Ended up going to town to buy a queen sized air mattress for which the kids then slept on in their parents room! Plus my 8 year old Grandson uses a walker to ambulate and that house was a disaster waiting to happen for him!
Shower stalls are tight and small. You can’t bend over to shave your legs and are VERY slippery! No rubber mats on the floor of the shower, then when you step out, the little rug slips out under your feet! I only showered twice the whole week for fear I would fall or injure myself. Though it’s a vacation home….it’s still a home and should meet some kind of safety standard! I wouldn’t allow guests in my home to risk an injury without safety features!
Then, the kicker is they don’t have garbage pick up at the cabin. Probably because a garbage truck couldn’t manipulate the curvy, mountainous, narrow road. So they expect guests to take their own garbage with them or haul it to the dump themselves! Well, we found the dump, which was close to 30 minutes away! We never stayed in a VRbo before and I don’t think I would ever again. I like to have my sheets clean and changed, garbage emptied daily, towels changed…we had to wash and dry our own towels at the cabin! Some vacation when you have to keep house!
