About this property

Bunkhouse Seventy-Four - Cute, quaint and just minutes from Jacksonville, IL

Once used by seasonal farm labor in the 1930s, Bunkhouse Seventy-Four is a fully restored historic bunkhouse with all the modern amenities for a comfortable getaway. Perfect for couples, it features a full kitchen, bath, queen bed, a spacious porch, beautiful antique stained glass windows, a private outdoor soaking tub (Apr-Nov) on a 7 acre hobby farm. Also check out our listing, Audrey’s Abode, which is next door. Pets are welcome but we charge a $25 pet cleaning fee.

The space
A truly unique space, this historic bunkhouse has been a labor of love. Relocated from near Alexander, Illinois (15 minutes east of Jacksonville) the restoration included reclaimed items and materials from the region that add to it’s charming story. As our guest, you will have access to the entire bunkhouse. This includes full access to our fully furnished micro-kitchen which includes a refrigerator, stove with an oven, microwave, and coffee maker. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, cookie sheets, plates, glasses, coffee cups and more in case you decide you'd like to bring your own food and prepare a meal. Need some fresh air? The porch is a wonderful place to sit, read a book while listening to the sounds of nearby nature, or take a soak in our private outdoor antique cast iron tub (available April 1-November 1) under the stars.

Guest access
Guest have full access to the entire bunkhouse and the surrounding property. From April 1 to November 1, guests also have access to our private antique soaking tub on the porch.

A Unique One-of-a-Kind Bunkhouse

What a unique gem of a cabin! Quite charming and clearly lovingly restored. It was absolutely perfect for an overnight stop. The bed was very comfortable and covered in a beautiful antique quilt! I loved the beautiful stained glass windows also. This is definitely one-of-kind B&B!! I recommend this tiny bunkhouse to anyone who wants a special weekend get- away from a busy tech filled week. And the cinnamon coffee cake was a delicious surprise!! I hope to stay again when I travel this way.
