Private Mountain Getaway

Our stay here was fantastic. Brand new construction and the cabin was gorgeous, well kept, well maintained and just quite darling.I do advise maybe having some signs down at the bottom of the long driveway leading to the subdivision because it was hard to distinguish where to go next when at the bottom and faced with multiple directions to go. Especially when it feels like you are getting further off the beaten path.

Beautiful cabin on the mountainside. 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive is best. Charcaol grill. Our biggest disappointment was no instructions on how to start the gas fireplace. We called for help for 2 days and no advice was given. All we needed was a phone call to walk us through it. The hand railings on the steps are difficult to grab and the stairs are steep. A bit difficult for older adults or handicapped. And the owners should put in a garbage bear proof box. The views are spectacular and the peace and quiet awesome!

Amazing experience!

I went on a trip with some of my girlfriends. We had so much fun! The cabin fit 6 of us. We had the most relaxing time and this cabin was so clean and comfortable. We watched movies, ate delicious food, relaxed in the hottub and made smores over the fire. We enjoyed the cool mornings out on the deck enjoying all the beauty. So wonderful!

Book it now!

I planned a long weekend to Bryson City as a surprise birthday trip for my wife. The trip was planned around the surprise being the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. Well, that was the plan but the Nice Ash Cabin ending up being the best surprise either one of us could have imagined. This place is great, BOOK IT NOW. We plan to come back to Bryson City and this cabin will be the reason we do.

Great little house on a ridge

My family stayed at Nice Ash over this past weekend for a long weekend getaway to enjoy the mountain air, get in a few hikes, and experience white water rafting with our girls (it was their first time!). The proximity of the house to Bryson City main is fantastic. Within a 5-minute drive down the ridge, you're in Bryson City, yet far enough away to avoid the commotion from the train or music from the bars. The location feels secluded, which is nice. However, the drive up to the ridge is not for the faint of heart. Like many driveways in the area, it’s somewhat challenging. I noticed only after booking that the property listing states a "4x4 vehicle is required," which is understandable as a precaution. The driveway is steep gravel with several switchbacks. We made it without issue in our two-wheel drive Honda CR-V in low gear, but it definitely tested the traction control, and my wife had a tight grip on the steering wheel on our first trip up! I was concerned about how weather might affect this drive; heavy rain could have made it tricky. Also if driving there via GPS - the GPS will say you have arrived well before the house, you have to follow the driveway on the right marked "105" up to the house. The house itself is newly constructed with modern finishes. It is nicely decorated and furnished, very clean, and had most everything we needed. The back porch and view were the highlights. We used the hot tub one night and the fire pit another. The back porch table was great for family games, which the kids loved, especially playing Sushi Go Party. One thing to note was the lack of additional sheets and clean blankets. The couch converted into a sleeping area, which is a nice feature that should be highlighted in the property description. My 10-year-old used this space to avoid sharing a bunk with her sister. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find another set of sheets for the couch, and the extra throws and blankets had a musty odor as if they hadn’t been washed for a while. My daughter made do, but this was a slight inconvenience. We originally had a different property reserved that was more "cabin-y," but we needed to bring our dog along at the last minute. I appreciate that this property is pet-friendly. Our doodle, Tucker, found the house great as well. Adding retractable gates on the porch would be a nice feature to prevent pets or small children from wandering off. Overall, I would give this house a 4.5 to 4.75 out of 5, deducting only for the challenging driveway and lack of clean sheets and blankets for the couch.

Amazing!

The cabin was great, loved it so much. It smelled wonderful when we walked through the front door. It has a bright, homey vibe to it. There were incredible views from the deck and it was soooo quiet. It was totally set up for us to do our own cooking and not have to leave if we didn't want to. When we did go into town, it wasn't too far away. We went tubing, ate at some of the local restaurants (La Dolce Vita Bakery for breakfast! The Rice Wagon for a late lunch....sooo good! so many other options as well) We were able to get our fill of adventure and relaxation. Already have our next visit planned :)

Perfect vacation

My sister and I surprised our dad with a trip to the mountains. Nice Ash Cabin was perfect. Clean, well appointed and plenty of space. Pretty inside and out. Great views. Close to lots of fun outdoorsy things to do as well as wonderful porch with rocking chairs. We would definitely recommend this property.

driveway and home.

Driveway was absolutely HORRENDOUS and i’ve stayed in uncountable mountain homes. Very steep incline and many narrow turns. Hardly room for a full sized truck & it is the main road for surrounding homes. Pet hair in living room. Wasn’t swept / mopped under rugs. Front door deadbolt was broken leaving us on the phone with support and locked out of the home.

Amazing View

We absolutely loved the hot tub, seeing the beautiful Smokey mountains in the morning and all throughout the day. Amazing place to stay! Didn’t see any bears but we did see a wild mama Turkey with her baby. The porch view was the most fav! Beautiful cabin!

Perfect Retreat

We loved being on top of the mountain for true rest and relaxation away from everything. We weren’t too far from town either! The games and hot tub were a hit! 🏔️❤️
