About the host
Hosted by Kintoo & Carol

I’m an art teacher, and a parent to three children. Despite the busyness of family life, my love for travel has never faded. For the past 35 years, I’ve been exploring this incredible planet, from Europe to Asia and Africa, always drawn to places with deep history and connection to the land. I love learning about Indigenous ways of knowing and land-based learning, and I try to weave that into our travels. Exploring with kids isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it. Some of my most unforgettable destinations have been Socotra an Island off Yemen, Hawaii, North Vancouver Island and Victoria, Edinburgh, Cinque Terre Italy, Most recently, we made our way through Costa Rica and Peru—standing at Machu Picchu was breathtaking, Cusco in Peru was authentic, Barbados where the beaches are always straight out of a postcard and of course our very own Sri Lanka.
Why they chose this property
Our verdant villa is a lush oasis amidst the vibrant chaos of a beautiful island. A green spot to escape. A meeting place where the familiar and exotic mingle. This is a place where you can rejuvenate and blossom.
An ideal neighborhood to meet, connect and bond with locals and tourists alike. The beautiful Moragalla and Ventura (Bentota) beach are just a short tuk tuk ride away. The city of Galle is just a two hour train or one and a half hour tuk tuk ride. Colombo is just one hour away. Yala National Park is one hour taxi ride away. The bustling city of Hikkaduwa is less than a hour away and will make a great day trip.
