My husband and I spent two very relaxing nights at Lazy Creek cabin. The cabin is very thoughtfully furnished. We especially enjoyed soaking in the hot tub while watching the stars come out, reading on the porch, and cooking breakfast together.
Perfect getaway for me and my husband. I love the privacy and hot tub. The cabin is tastefully decorated and has everything you could need or want. I especially love the fuzzy warm blankets to snuggle up in on a cool day. Next time we visit it will be longer
Absolutely beautiful. Secluded for privacy and a beautiful view but close enough to go sightseeing in any direction. The cabin was clean, comfortable and all amenities needed.
Absolute perfection…romantic cabin with stunning views and SO CLEAN
We had a perfect weekend at Lazy Creek Cabin! The hosts are excellent and quick communicators. Very warm & gracious hosts. Check in was ready 2 hours earlier than expected. I am a clean freak and couldn’t get over how CLEAN the cabin was when we arrived! They must spend hours scrubbing to maintain that level of cleanliness haha the cabin was very well stocked and everything was so comfortable. The farm/mountain scenery was to die for! We enjoyed star gazing from the hot tub, watching abundant wildlife from the porch, and hiking at Peaks of Otter. Besides hiking, we didn’t even want to leave the cozy cabin and the farm. We enjoyed walks to see the cows and fishing in the beautifully maintained pond next to the cabin (fishing gear provided by host). The only negative was having to leave at the end of our stay. I can see why this cabin has received so many great reviews for so many years and why so many guests return over and over again. It truly is the perfect romantic mountain getaway and we can’t wait to come back!! I have high standards and I cannot recommend this place enough!! You will not be disappointed!
I can't say enough good things about this place! They'd clearly thought of absolutely everything. The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances, the hot tub was perfect, and the bathrobes were a great touch. Perfect for a couple's weekend away from dc :)
This cozy cabin offers the perfect peaceful getaway in a beautiful setting. It is evident the owners have focused on every detail to insure their guests have an enjoyable stay. From the comfortable furniture and well-equipped kitchen to the amazing hot tub and relaxing front porch with mountain views, it offers a nice escape that is hard to leave. The owners were so friendly and very responsive to our needs. We can’t wait to visit again!
This was our second visit and it was as great this time around as before. Jane and Jim were perfect hosts and thought of every detail to make you feel at home away from home. The cabin is cozy very nicely decorated and has everything you need for your time away-from all the kitchen amenities to hot tub towels and robes. We used the grill and spent time in the hot tub with a glass in wine in hand gazing at the wide open sky filled with stars. We went into Roanoke and took advantage of a brewery, restaurant, and a community theater production. Wonderful and relaxing time. Definitely recommend a visit here!
What a perfect honeymoon getaway! It was really nice to relax after wedding planning. It was just far enough away yet close to Roanoke. It felt like our own slice of paradise. We cooked a lot and there was everything we needed. The morning sunrise with a cup of coffee on the porch was so beautiful. Seeing the deer was a neat thing to see! It was very clean and very well kept. We will definitely be back!
Everything as described. Beautiful location. Very clean everywhere. Lots of space heaters to stay toasty in the winter. Tons of privacy for the most part, except for a surprise visit from the son. He was nice and wanted to strap down the hot tub cover on a windy day. But we didn't get a heads up about it so we thought he was a stranger at first.
My wife and I visit regularly and each time is a joy. We get to relax, unwind, take hikes, shop in the nearby Roanoke downtown area, and genuinely refresh our relationship together. The cottage is simple and cozy, always clean, and affordable.
Quiet, peaceful, cozy cabin to get away for a few days. Private surroundings, helpful host, and has many amenities in the kitchen for cooking/grilling. Great getaway!
We planned a weekend away and could not have been happier with this experience. Very clean, cute cabin. The hot tube was great. The host family was on top of everything & we even got to purchase a steak from their farm! It was a wonderful time.
A short get away just prior to Thanksgiving. We took advantage of some shopping opportunities prior to Christmas. Relaxation!

About the host
Hosted by Jim and Jane Campbell
We are Jim and Jane Campbell and we have two grown sons. The cabin is located on our farm which is a working farm with Angus cattle. We will sell you a great steak or hamburger that was grass fed right here on our farm. We enjoy being hospitable and will make your stay as relaxing as possible.
Why they chose this property
We decided to build a log cabin on our property because our view is so wonderful and we wanted to be able to share it.
What makes this property unique
We are 1/2 mile off Rt. 460 and close to many restuarants, places to shop, the Peaks of Otter, and Smith Mountain Lake. We have a pond very close to the cabin and there are many places to hike and bike. We love it here on the farm, because the views off the front porch and the many wildlife you see, put us in awe of our Lord Jesus Christ the creator of it all!
