This 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home rests on the majestic SW Mich Lakeshore, and has 350 feet of private beach! Wake up to fantastic views of Lake Michigan, play on the sandy beach all day and toast the tremendous sunsets each evening. The home is located in Higman Park, a charming neighborhood on two hilltops with frontage on the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan, just a mile north of St. Joseph and only 90 minutes from Chicago. The second level deck is the perfect place to watch the sun set over Lake Michigan.

This home is well equipped for your beach comforts! Beach chairs, umbrella, toys are supplied. Please bring your own beach towels!

There are 2 grills available! Choose Charcoal or Gas grill for your dining needs!

If you want to take an adventure through the area, you will find 12+ wineries, 26 golf courses, award-winning microbreweries. U-pick farms, children museum and carousel, 3 casinos and numerous music venues. There are so many things to do that you will wish that you had more than a week*.

Note: The maximum number of guests is limited to 7 unless arrangements are made at the time of booking. Exceeding the maximum will result in the forfeit of monies paid and termination of occupancy. Be Our Guest homes are not to be used for any parties or special events. Plenty of parking and a two car garage is available for vehicles and toys. No pets are allowed at any time.

If Guest wishes to cancel his/her reservation, the deposit will be refunded as follows:

90% refunded if canceled 180 days prior to the Check-in Date
75% refunded if canceled 90 days prior to the Check-in Date
50% refunded if canceled 60 days prior to the Check-in Date
0% refunded if canceled 30 days prior to the Check-in Date
Full payment will be charged if canceled less than 30 days prior to the Check-in Date

Perfect beach stay for 7 adults!

We appreciated so much space to spread out!! Big, well-stocked kitchen. Four comfy bedrooms. Great parking. And proximity to the private beach was wow!!! We were up & down the stairs multiple times every day. Already talking about doing the same thing next year!

Amazing rental!

The house was old but really well maintained. Loved the quietness and privacy of the house. And I can’t say enough about the beach! So much private beachfront and very few rocks. Nice sand! Water was very nice to swim in also!

We had a wonderful trip. Met some of the neighbors, very friendly. What a lovely area View was absolutely stunning. House very clean and kitchen was well stocked. Loved the cupboards and drawers were labeled. The only negative is that the house needs lots of repairs. I

Super private beach and very cool house

We really enjoyed our family weekend here. The neighbors were super friendly and welcoming and the views were amazing. Yes there are stairs going down to the beach, and yes they are steep. But having your own private piece of the waterfront was really nice. The kids loved the water and the waves and we may have decided to quit driving south every summer for the gulf because we just really enjoyed our time here. Thank you!

The house was great, weather was great, private beach was great, lake was great. 79 steps down to beach -a bit of a challenge for 82 yr. olds- BUT- we did just fine- several trips/day.

Wonderful getaway

Spent four nights in late June 2023. Weather largely did not cooperate but the location was perfect on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. Lot of steps down to beach but worth the effort. 5 minutes from downtown St. Joe. Stayed with our two sons, age 15 and 19 and they loved it as well. Large kitchen, comfy beds, lots of space for everyone. We will visit again soon!

Family beach vacation

This is a lovely older home in a quiet neighborhood overlooking Lake Michigan with plenty of space for our whole family of 6 to relax and have fun. There is private access to a beautiful beach where we had room to swim, play, have a bonfire and just enjoy the lake. The only drawback is the 79 step, steep stairway down to the beach. But the trip down is definitely worth it! We all enjoyed our time and wished we could have stayed longer.

Fantastic beach

This was a wonderful place to say! The beach was private and clean, and the decline rate going out to the water was very gradual. The house was equipped with everything you could need. The check in was a breeze, and the town of Saint Joe has plenty to do! I’ll definitely rent this home again in the future!

a great week on the beach

In my opinion it is a great 40's era house in good condition, roomier than we needed, neat and tidy and with enough provided to make it very livable. The lake-view from atop a bluff was always enjoyable. The weather was good for swimming. Many concrete steps down to the lake was not an issue for us. Nice sandy beach. Incredible privacy, no crowds. It's possible only 6 cars or so passed the property per day.

Sunset Coast lives up to its name!

We had a spectacular week of gorgeous sunsets on a beautiful bluff overlooking our glorious lake! The once-in-a-half-century rainfall, over 3-4 of our 6 days, did make things a bit damp, but it did not dampen our spirits or our appreciation of the beautiful place we were staying. When the rain stopped, and the wind calmed, the swimming was fantastic. Even on the rainiest and stormiest of days, the sky somehow cleared just enough to deliver us an amazing sunset, every single night. I now have the most incredible collection of sunset photos ever! And Karen from Be Our Guest was a gem – someone who seems to really enjoy her work, and enjoys making her guests happy, with kindness, generosity, support, and patience. Someone else commented on the steps to the beach. We loved them! All 79 of them (counted on every trip). Came home stronger. Even the almost four-year-old grandson climbed them every time on his own, without a complaint, and counted them repeatedly – great physical and cognitive exercise for those strong little legs and rapidly growing brain!

Lake Michigan Paradise

This rental was an A+ for our family. The home's many large rooms were perfect for playing games and visiting. The views of the lake from the balcony, the yard, and the deck across the street are fantastic. We had three spectacular sunsets in three nights. The steps (about 80) down to the beach (which are lighted at night!) are close to the home, and the beach at the bottom of the stairs is very private. We were able to take long walks on the beach to the South. Our family group of seven voted unanimously to come back to the same home next summer.

A terrific house for a holiday

This is a terrific property and very well equipped and maintained. We loved the location and the friendly, helpful property managers and owners. A more prominent mention of the 79 steep steps down to the private beach would have been helpful to ensure that we were all aware of that!
