Very nice vacation getaway

Home was spacious, clean and the fireplace was great, especially since the weather was colder than expected. Plenty of firewood on site. Gas grill wasn't listed as an amenity but was a nice surprise. Would definitely go back for an other family vacation.

Great find if you have dogs with you

We stayed here in December with two dogs and two teenagers....all were very happy. Kids loved having their own good-sized bedrooms and dogs loved being able to join us...not easy finding places. Loved having many fires in the fireplace and comfortable couches. Would love to come back and take advantage of the waterfront access.

Rangeley Lake cabin

Overall sweet place. The whole landscape is on a hill so either traversing up from the house to the driveway and on up to the road, or down to the lake access. Unfortunately the depth of the lake at the end of the dock is more shallow than it looks with rocks below. Recommend taking care when entering the lake no diving or jumping in ! Sweet relaxing spot great lake views from the deck.

Misleading

Unfortunately from the moment we stepped inside this cabin all we could smell was moldy basement and there was no door to close, all open concept. The bedroom mattresses were about 30 years old and very uncomfortable, outside on the old wraparound deck, the furniture was old and stained, the grill had no propane , so needless to say we stayed one night and had to relocate. The posting for this lakeside home is misleading.

Perfect Fall Refresh

What a perfect cabin experience with a couple of our closest friends and pups. Close to town, hiking, canoeing, amazing views. We hiked to a waterfall, took a trail through the state park, canoed from the property 10 miles, saw the fall colors from a plethora of scenic views, most importantly, right from the back deck! Watched the stars and Milky Way for hours on the back deck with all the lights off, it was heaven. The rental was well stocked and beds were comfortable. Perfect getaway!

Beautiful view with a great fireplace

We enjoyed a holiday break between Christmas and new year in this log cabin retreat. There were 4 adults and the house was just the right size. The view of the lake is spectacular! The fireplace is large and ample wood was to be found in the basement. The kitchen is well equipped and there is seating for six. The upstairs bedrooms were warm and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were great! The setting is peaceful and quiet. A real gem. A few things could be improved to make this a perfect score: -The downstairs bedrooms were warm but the mattresses were old and needing to be replaced. -The living room seating was tight fir 4 people. There is ample room for an additional couch or comfortable chairs - the kitchen is efficient for one person but could use some expanding for several helpers to fit. I am sure that this arrangement works better in the summer when the grills are in use. -there is no internet which was fine fir us but this would deter others.

Great, Private Place to Stay!

We were pleasantly surprised with Connaughton. While it does not have WiFi, it does have TV and a dishwasher, and plenty of space! We had beautiful sunsets and quiet on the lake, saw moose and hawks all week. the stairs down to the water may look daunting, but after a couple of days, your legs get used to it! The only thing that can be improved, of course, is having WiFi available, and having better mattresses! Overall, a great camp, a great week - we'll be back next year!

We just spent a wonderful week at this fabulous rental home. The location and views across Rangeley Lake are amazing! The house also feels very private, with dense woods on both sides, but it is only a 10-minute drive into Rangeley town. We had five adults in our party. The living room is quite spacious with high ceilings. We enjoyed the beautiful fireplace and ample wood supply. Great things about the house include two bathrooms, washer and dryer in the basement, four good-sized bedrooms, lovely deck overlooking the lake, dining table for 6 people, gas grill, fire pit, and canoe. The kitchen is a bit small and could use more serving dishes and measuring cups, but it has a dishwasher, which is awesome. Bathroom showers were hot but water pressure a bit low. There are a lot of steps from the driveway to the house, and then from the house to the dock, so this house would not be good for people with mobility issues. Driveway can hold three cars, easily. We were fortunate with amazing sunny and warm days. One day as I lay on the deck in the sun, a bald eagle flew overhead. We hope to be back!
