About this property

Perfect Year-Round Getaway Location For Those Who Enjoy The Outdoors.

With unspoiled forests and waterways, the Greater Bridgton Lakes Region is a year-round outdoor playground and sportsman’s paradise. Here you can bike scenic roads or remote trails, canoe calm waters or photograph spectacular sunsets. Climb. Fish. Golf. Hike. Hunt. Sail. Swim. Ski. There’s something for anyone with a sense of adventure or an appreciation for the great outdoors. Bird watch. Picnic. Kayak. Canoe. Tennis. You name it,

Moose Pond, Denmark & Bridgton & Sweden
Moose Pond in West Bridgton stretches seven miles from its wilder reaches in its north end in Sweden to its shallower, more placid south end in Denmark. In between find its widest and deepest section in Bridgton just south of the Route 302 causeway. Here the pond is nearly a mile wide and its maximum depth reaches 70 feet.

The distance around the perimeter of this riboon of water is over 33 miles. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection has given Moose Pond an "above average" water quality rating.

Moose Pond is the setting for one of the most striking views of the area, that of Pleasant Mountain and Shawnee Peak ski area from the Route 302 causeway that bisects Moose Pond. To your right is the wilder, more undeveloped north end of Moose Pond and to your left is the main body of the pond with the massive bulk of Pleasant Mountain, fronted by the ski area, looming up behind.

Moose Pond is home to many different fish species including bass, perch, trout, and pickerel. Because of the variety of shoreline and water depths, Moose Pond is a favorite for local fishermen. There's a public boat launch at the causeway.

In the winter you'll find the main body of the lake dotted with ice fishing houses and the surface crisscrossed with snowmobile tracks.

In the summer, take a break from the pond to hike up Pleasant Mountain and enjoy the magnificent views. The town of Bridgton is nearby offering shopping, restaurants, and a movie theater. Just 15 miles further west along Route 302 enter the shopping mecca of sales tax free North Conway, NH.

Beautiful Location

Awesome location, steps from Moose Pond and a short drive into the quaint town of Bridgton. The condo is very large, which allowed our family space to spread out and have privacy during our stay. The unit is a little dated and some windows were in disrepair, which was a bummer. We happened to stay during an unusually hot and humid stretch of weather and without AC we needed windows open and every ceiling fan cranking to be comfortable, but, again that's not normal in the woods in Maine so I think normally no AC wouldn't be a concern. The kitchen was well-equipped but we did notice some small ants. Again, it's in the woods so I think that's normal. We attempted to use the grill one night to cook dinner and were disappointed to find that it was too dirty to use so we cooked indoors. The condo comes with a bunch of fun kayaks, paddle boards and pool floats, which we were grateful to have at our disposal. Despite a couple of small hiccups and not ideal weather, our family had a great week and Denise was very responsive to any questions that I had. Thanks!

Moose Pond

Townhouse has plenty of space for everyone to fell comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need while enjoying your stay by the pond. Heard lovely call of the loon several times during our stay and caught a glimpse a time or two. We had rain during our stay but we found plenty to do and got some we’ll deserved R&R.

July 2022 on the lake

We enjoyed the lake, amenities, and proximity to Bridgeport. Kitchen and house are well stocked. The shared pool, tennis court, dock, and beach we almost always had all to ourselves.

GREAT GET AWAY!

The Owners were GREAT! Very responsive to any questions and easy to work with. This is our 2nd time here and the location itself provided a Large, Clean and Beautiful home with a great views of the Lake. The Lake was also Clean… wonderful for swimming and boating. There is a pool also… but we loved swimming in the lake. There are also many things to do in the surrounding area. We visited 2 Lights at the Rocky Coast with outstanding views where you can dine inside or ouside overlooking the views; Fun Town in Scarborough ia great for families with children; Portland and Naples also have a lot to offer. Had a Wonderful Week!

Family Vacation

We had a great stay. It was great to get away and be able to just relax. The lake is beautiful and the water clean. Great for swimming, kayaking and fishing. The house has everything you need. We brought all our food and never left until we checked out. The owner was responsive and the check in could not have been easier. Would love to return when we are able to check out the surrounding area.

Fun getaway

A great relaxing week on the lake. The townhouse was large and very comfortable, with all the furnishings needed. Kitchen was great, well equipped with lots of counterspace. The owners also have a kayak and a canoe for guest use which was fantastic. The lake is super clean and was so warm. There is also a pool and tennis courts. Overall a great experience!

Awesome Get-away

Just returned from 5 days at this property with my wife and 4 young daughters, and just had a fantastic time. The unit is beautiful and has a breathtaking view of Moose Pond. We spent hours swimming on the private beach, and kayaking across the lake (owners have kayaks in the garage for guest use). In the evenings we made fires in the fire pit near the beach and the girls made s'mores. Bridgton is a great little town with lots of restaurants, ice cream shops, etc. and we ordered lobsters and ate them on the deck. Storyland is a 40 min. drive away, and kids had a great day there. The unit is also loaded with technology (movies, Net Flix, HBO, etc.), so tons of kids shows for downtime, and then my wife and I were able to catch Game of Thrones (and watch other movies) after kids were in bed. Just simply a terrific place and we just had a great vacation there. I am jealous of the next people who get to rent this place while the weather is still good...

Great Location, Great Place….. Owner is a Pleasure to Work With!

I was a little concerned when booking because this is a Condo and not a stand alone home…. but IT WAS GREAT! 3 levels with TONS of space. This is not a large complex… just a couple buildings with 4 units each. During our stay in mid-August only once or twice was there anyone else swimming at the lake when we were, and even then it was just 1 or 2 people for a brief period. The home is a great size and in great shape!!! The lake is beautiful & clean and we all loved swimming in it. The owner has a canoe and a Kayak which were also a lot of fun. There is also a pool but after Day 1 the Adults and Grandkids all MUCH preferred the lake. We also found a load of things to do in the surrounding area…. Fun Town in Saco, Two Lights/The Rocky Coast/Lobster Shake…. Lunch/Shopping/Movies right in Brdgton… mini golfing, dinner & ice cream in Naples. LOVED IT!!! LOVED IT!!!

Great Lake house

Beautiful lake view from the windows and deck. Peaceful. Great beach access. We loved swimming and kayaking in Moose Pond. The house was the perfect place to reunite our family. Owner provided good service and property was accurately described. House located near quaint and picturesque town of Bridgton with two great restaurants, Blackhorse Tavern (dinner) and Beth's Kitchen (breakfast).

Great place for a family vacation

Moose Pond is a great place for a family vacation. The pond is big (many would call it a lake), clear water, not too much boat traffic but enough to remind you of all the fun of summer. The property has a great grassy beachfront with a sandy bottom. Fire pit, picnic tables, hammock, kayaks, a dock, a raft -- everything you need to enjoy a day at the water. It's also fairly shady at certain times of day which is nice -- comfortable on the hot days and less worry about sunburns. And if you're not into swimming in the lake, the pool is great -- just the right size, some chairs to lounge in, a table to picnic at. The home itself is well-kept and comfortable. It's homey without feeling like the owners have just walked out and you've entered their private lives. It had everything you'd expect - the usual appliances, pots, pans, gas grill, washer / dryer, etc. There were also basics in the pantry -- the stuff you don't want to have to buy for just one week. There was plenty of space for the 4 adults and two kids. We loved eating on the deck overlooking the water. There are three levels: the first floor you enter from the driveway has kitchen/dining/living/ 1/2 bath/laundry. The second floor has a great master bedroom with windows overlooking the lake, huge master bath with jacuzzi tub and walk-in closet (which because a great hiding spot for our kids). Also on the 2nd floor, there is a 2nd bedroom with a queen bed and 2nd full bath. Lastly, a "sleeping corner" with 2 bunk beds for the kids. The bottom floor is a walk-out basement. Fully furnished and cooler than the rest of the house on hot days. There is a separate bedroom down there and another queen in the common space. And the 4th bathroom. There is a lot to do in the area. We paddled on the lake. We hiked up Pleasant Mountain (trailhead 1/4 mile from the house). We went into North Conway to check out the Weather museum (or you could spend the day hiking or shopping around there....). We explored Bridgton (love Beth's cafe). And of course, we went to the Hannaford's, Reny's, and Walmart to pick up groceries and various things we forgot to bring with us. Finally, the owner was responsive and easy to work with. She sent all the info we would need in advance. She made sure we knew how to reach her if we needed her (we didn't). She was friendly, wanted to make sure we had a good stay and everything we needed was taken care of. We all agreed we'd love to go back next year.

Outstanding location and well kept property!

Our family loved absolutely everything about this vacation house. The townhouse is beautiful, comfortable and clean. The use of a canoe and kayak, the fire pit, the tennis court / basketball court and the access to the lake made for a great family vacation. Would definitely return!

Absolutely perfect

Our extended, multi-generational family (my wife and I plus a grandson living with us as well as our daughter and her four children (ages 14, 9, 9, and 7) found just the perfect location for a mini-vacation. Loved the peace and quiet of being on the pond which was only disturbed by the joyous voices of children in the pond or pool. Home is extremely well furnished and comfortably slept all 8 of us. Master bedroom is extra special. We chose to have all of our meals at home around the dining room table or on the porch both of which worked well. Most importantly, this home is just ideal for family living and sharing. Owner totally supportive and very easy to work with. Absolutely recommend this to those wishing to enjoy peaceful and relaxing time.

We both come from large extended families that remain close. We enjoy this vacation home with many family members and our own children. I spent all my summers in Canada visiting aunts / uncles / cousins and grandparents. To me it was the perfect childhood. We spent most of our time enjoying the outdoors. I hope my children enjoy their time in Maine as much.

Why they chose this property

This property was perfect for us because of all that it offered. There is downhill skiing literally a walk away. Walk out the door and the beach is right there. The pond is perfect for boating, water-skiing, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, snow-snowmobiling, ice fishing and cross-country skiing. The property also has a tennis court and swimming pool There is golf and hiking close by as well. The area also has nice restaurants and shopping. North Conway, Freeport and Portland are very do-able as day trips, as are Santa's Village, Storyland and hiking the white mountains. There are also plenty of photo opportunities close by. We are a family that enjoys getting out and taking photos. If we choose to stay in there's a wood burning stove to make the home feel cozy. There's plenty of room to enjoy different actives at the same time, watching movies, playing board games, etc...

What makes this property unique

All the outdoor fun you can image and in any season.
