Love this house!
This is our 2nd stay at this property. It is ideal for a family or for couples travelling together. Having your own pool is so nice! Great laundry facility in the garage, great kitchen, beds were comfy. The yard is gorgeous… looks like a botanical garden. Our favourite part is falling asleep listening to the coqui frogs and waking up to the birds.

Very pleasant stay
This five night stay was the final leg of a 16 night trip. Weve previously stayed at the adjacent Jungelow and thoroughly enjoyed both properties. The Plantation house has a lot of nice touches with expansive landscaped grounds. Especially liked the window walls in the large living/dining area. Nice pool for warm afternoons. Problem with missing key to laundry/second bath was quickly remedied by owners. Nice place.

Fantastic property and great location
What an amazing and well appointed property. Was everything the listing described and more. We loved just hanging around the pool area after a long day of hiking or touring. I'd give it a five+ if I could for the authenticity of the cribbage board with a matchstick replacing a missing peg.

Perfect in Every Way!
What a beautiful property! It had everything we needed to relax and enjoy the stunning weather. We didn’t even need to leave at all if we didn’t want too… we could’ve spent our entire time by the pool!! A great spot in HPP but not too far from shopping and dining, great for day trips up to Volcanoes N.P. or for exploring the 2018 lava flows. Highly recommend staying here!!

The Absolute Best
Everything about this property and home was wonderful, with lots of attention paid to quality and detail. This was the nicest vacation rental we’ve experienced on any island (or on the mainland). The owners and propery manager were wonderful and kind, and we were instantly relaxed and comfortable. This part of Hawaii is really for the traveler who wants to relax and get away from the resorts and live like a regular person, and this house made that effortless. Highest recommend, and many thanks to the thoughtfulness of the owners and property manager!

PARADISE Park
The property was beautiful and fully stocked with all your vacation needs (everything from a readying to cook in kitchen, to plenty of spare amenities like towels and sunscreen). The pictures do not do the house justice and it's on a wonderful quiet street in a neighborhood not too far from Hilo. Deb was an incredible host who was always quick to get back to me (both before and during our stay), she was also very accommodating when we had plans change during check-in. I can not say enough about how amazing our stay was and hope to be able to enjoy this property again in the future.

Excellent private tropical ambiance, esp the pool
We really enjoyed our stay here. Total privacy, the whole house, really interesting "deep tropics" neighborhood. The pool was a fantastic special treat. Everything was clean and comfortable, and Debra the owner/manager gave excellent prep details about the house, and was instantly responsive to the few questions we did have, once we arrived. We thought it might be more of a high maintenance place; it wasn't, for us. All good and easy, clear instructions, no problems with bugs or jungle critter noise or intrusion. We really loved it, glad we did this instead of your usual hotel routine...

Gorgeous Vacation Home!
My family and I had the pleasure of staying here for 2 very relaxing weeks. We even survived a category 1 hurricane. The house was well equipped with all of the essentials. The laundry room and an extra bathroom were located in the carport/garage, and came in handy. The pool and outdoor shower were wonderful at night, and we were serenaded by the coqui frogs. The house was a perfect layout for my family with a big screen tv for the boys and beautiful gourmet kitchen for myself. The yard had fruit trees and beautiful flowers and trees. Highly recommend this property! I'd buy it if I could.....

HI visit
Clean. Things we wish we’d known before booking: Bad smell (mold / mildew?) No A/C. Hot and humid with loud nighttime creatures made it difficult to sleep. Maybe I should have noticed AC was not a listed amenity, but honestly - this should be stated clearly up front. The house is 2 bedroom 1 bathroom with a den which has a Murphy bed. There is a 2nd full bathroom and laundry room in a separate building outside by the pool. This was not clearly stated either. You can’t keep any food out or in the pantry or garbage due to critters. The checkout instructions were hard to find and required us to launder all the towels and sheets. And to collect all garbage and drive it to the dump station.

Plantation House December
We stayed at the Plantation House from December 10th through 18th. The house was lovely, well stocked and very clean. The Pool was superb. Relaxation is what we were there for and it did not disappoint. The beds were very comfortable with quality covering/sheets. The living room furniture was not comfortable but we moved some cushions from some of the chairs and it helped when we stayed in on the rainy days. We went to Kona,(a little disappointing as it is very touristy) However it does have some beautiful sand beaches. On the drive back, we visited Black Beach and found turtles lounging in the sun. I suggest a stop at the Portuguese bakery for malasadas. Volcano Park was a day of fun. Take a light jacket or sweater as it can be windy and chilly. We went down the turnoff road marked Paradise Park on our way to Pahoa on the left and found a way to park and see the beautiful ocean lava cliffs not far from the house. We went to Pahoa to go to the market and restaurant as the manager's guide suggested. Kaleo's restaurant is closed as was the market permanently. Maybe that needs updated. A few days before we left we found Pineapples restaurant in Hilo I had the Ahi- so delicious! We also wanted to go to the restaurant "Seaside on the ocean in Hilo, heard it was really nice. We missed it. Ken's was old but clean family style cuisine. Service was great and we enjoyed our selections. I would recommend the Plantation House for a relaxing quiet v. Mahalo

Rest, Relax & Recharge
Spent a very relaxing week at the plantation. The place is very isolated from man-made noises (cars, planes, boats). Nature is your soundtrack, especially the coqui frogs. We feel asleep every night to their chorus. We spent most of our time around the pool. The rear structure adjacent to the carport has a bathroom to include shower and the laundry area (not very clear in the information). The front structure is the house and has two bedrooms and a den with a Murphy bed. There is one bathroom in the main house. The property is a garden. Take time to walk around and see the plants, fruits, and vegetables growing all around. House has no AC and can get hot during the day but quickly cools off at night with all the windows open. The heat was never an issue. Tips: - Mobile connectivity is weak. Save the directions to fix the internet if it goes out (no printed directions in the home) - Pool was awesome. It has a deep end, which was great. Very refreshing during the hot hours in the middle of the day - Property vehicle gate does not close. Not a big deal until we had someone soliciting come on the property around dinner - Lights for the pool are on the wall next to the bathroom door. They look like outlet covers - Outdoor shower has hot and cold water

JUST OK
The property is in a very nice quiet neighborhood that’s very rural but safe. Upon check in we notice the house to be clean and very well stocked with everything that you would need.. We noticed that the ceiling fans would turn on but would not blow any cool air and they were very dirty with very thick dust that probably was not cleaned for months… also we had some plumbing issues with the toilet ( both toilets ) plugged up and almost over flowed.. there was no plunger at the house so we reached out to the property manager (pamala) who apologized and brought us one brand new stand up fan and a plunger.. she informed us that she was trying to have the fans in the house replaced for a while and that she noticed the house to be very hot.. for some this may be ok but for us it was not… it was pure torture. When I reached out to the owner she apologized and told us to go swim.. really ? We did enjoy the pool although the fountain n the pumps that circulate the water was mot running from time to time we were told it’s a solar pool..!! Also you either have to take your own trash or call for someone to pick up but after everything we just decided to not bother.. I just think for the price of this place everything should be in working order.. it was also a little muggy smelling but definitely very hot..!! The owner did offer to give us our money back for whatever remaining days was left but because it was so last min it was just to hard and such and inconvenience.. however she did reimburse us $200 for the issues with the fan and toilet..!! Other then this the house was ok..!!

Paradise Found?
They say the big island of Hawaii is a mini-continent lacking only 2 of the 14 biomes on earth - boreal forest and true Arctic conditions. Everything else can be found. This house falls into a similar ranking. Hilo does get more rain than Kona, and it isn't right on the water. But everything else you will find. And, being 20 minutes south of Hilo, and within 4 blocks of the water, it doesn't miss those two points by much - south of Hilo and close to shore, the rain and cloud cover drop off dramatically. Some might see not being on the water as an issue, but being a bit inland has it's benefits, like bigger lots and more privacy. That's especially nice because the house has a nice 18X30' pool, and accompanying outdoor shower. There's also a full bath, another shower and the washer and dryer in the poolhouse. Also poolside is a nice gas grille, fully worthy of the local strips steaks and seafood we grilled on those nights we weren't eating out. The house itself is a 2011 studs-out remodel of the basic 3-bedroom rambler, with an expanded master suite, compartmented bath, second bedroom, and sleeper office (soon with a Murphy bed), all newly and nicely decorated with high quality pieces. We are foodies, so a good cook's kitchen is imperative, and this one is no exception. Espresso brown cabinets with red granite counters, new gas range, refrigerator and dishwasher. Even the pots and pans (triple-ply stainless), knives (Henckels), and dishes are way above normal rental house quality. In the living room the couch and chairs face a huge flat screen TV with satellite, Blu-Ray and surround sound. Luckily, there's a universal remote, intelligently programmed so the learning curve is very short. Unfortunately, but hardly unique on the island, the internet access and wi-fi, while adequate for most uses, isn't fast enough to support streaming video like NetFlix. The dining room is enormous, easily seating 8 for a formal sit-down dinner, and with windows on 3 sides looking out on jungle, makes a perfect setting for a family and friends event. It's only in the bedrooms that there is any hint of this house's more humble origins. And even there the master has been extended to make it very spacious, and like the second bedroom, has a sliding glass door that leads to the pool. It's clear that the owners have a real commitment both to this property and to making a stay here a wonderful experience. Highly recommended. Pictures don't do it justice.
