About this property

Upscale cabin, 10000 acre cattle ranch. Views, abundant wildlife & hiking.

The Bunkhouse is one of two guest cabins located on the Whiskey Trail Ranch. Peacefullness combined with adventure. Your stay at the Whiskey Trail Ranch will give you a peek at the real Montana agriculture life. We are happy to visit about the cattle and hay operation and get you close enough to the ranch horses to tickle their velvet noses. Some evenings you will find the guys in the arena roping calves and steers and we welcome a visit on the front porch. The clear dark nights will treat you an endless show of stars, including all night meteor showers and surprise Northern Lights during different seasons. The wildlife trails will provide a maze of hikes that will reward you with stunning views of the Flathead River Valley and the majestic Mission Mountain. The newly built Bunk House is the perfect place to gather with family and friends, sitting out on the big deck until the sun goes down will create new memories as you tell stories from days gone by. Limited cell service and no wi-fi will for sure remind you of a different way to connect. You will have a chance to see elk, black bears, coyotes, and....rattlesnakes! If bird-watching is your thing, you have just hit the jackpot. Take the 20 mile, dirt road drive North to the town of Hot Springs for a soak and dinner, or go 20 miles of more gravel East to Ronan for multiple museums and more sightseeing in the Mission Valley. Make your reservations for the Going to The Sun Road through Glacier Park, just 2 hours away. We have multiple listings on this property, which is perfect for large groups. Take a look at Ike's Place if the original, updated log cabin is more your style. https://t.vrbo.io/ERk3uEdlYMb

Absolutely Incredible!

We can’t say enough good things about our time here! We spent hours hiking around the hills and exploring. We saw herds of elk, a bald eagle, golden eagles, peregrine falcons, and a black bear. We explored Glacier National Park and the flathead river. I can’t think of a better place to unwind. Tammy was super helpful and responsive to all our questions. I highly recommend buying steak and hamburger from the ranch. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. We loved it!

We have managed and lived on the Whiskey Trail Ranch for 24 years. We have raised (almost) our 4 children on the ranch, we still have one in high school and the older kids are back and forth helping through different seasons. We both grew up in the area. Our family rodeos, hikes, hunts and fishes. We love to do things outdoors and are happy to share directions to some of our favorite hikes to mountain lakes in the area.

What makes this property unique

Staying on the ranch offers an experience all in itself. It is not convenient to town, but you will quickly discover that you do not want to leave the vast beauty the ranch has to offer. With just one other vacation home in sight, you will rarely get to experience this type of peacefullness and still have all your basic amenties and comforts of a home.
