We stayed here for a family ski trip to Sunday River. Nothing fancy, but this place meet our needs, was in budget, and was 15-20min from the mountain. Would stay again.
Great place .20 min from Sunday River ski resort. Very quiet and clean. Thank You

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
Misleading lake access.
There were no kayaks or canoe to use. The fire pit was a ring with no chairs and no hose to put the fire out if needed. The public beach is a hill of pine needles with large rock bottom. No room for sunbathing or sitting. Basement was running a humidifier to get rid of the damp smell and there were open ceiling tiles so the kids wouldn’t sleep down there. Cameras outside and one inside going down the stairs which was never stated in the ad. Not something I want with kids walking around. The house itself is private but it was a hot weekend and there is no AC. The house has ceiling fans that helped but it was hot. Maybe in the winter is better heated?
My mother and I have a week getaway every year. This place was definitely one of the best places we’ve rented! Clean, quiet, private, nice yard, everything needed in house, very spacious! The area is beautiful, the private dock, once we found it, was spacious and peaceful as well! More specificity on location of dock is my only recommendation. But when I contacted owner, he responded promptly.
THE LIVING SPACE WAS EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE & CLEAN. THE OWNER WAS VERY PLEASANT AND QUICK TO RESPOND TO QUESTIONS. THE POND ACCESS WAS A LITTLE FURTHER THAN WE EXPECTED, BUT IT WAS A VERY NICE SPOT AND THE WATER WAS CLEAN/CLEAR.. IT WAS A MUCH NEEDED & VERY RELAXING STAY :)
Stayed here for a 10-day getaway. If you want to be away from the city and be surrounded by nature, peace and quiet, then this is the place. All the privacy you want and although the private lake access is 3/4 of a mile away, and a bit difficult to find, it is absolutely worth it. During my stay, we had the entire lake to ourselves, was able to boat, swim, fish, with no interruptions at all. The deck area is large and very comfortable to be able to spread out. Communication with the owner was excellent, any question I had was answered within minutes. The property was clean, comfortable, spacious. Would love to return one day.
Clean and comfy, has all we need for our trip. 20 mins to Sunday river. Internet speed is good, wife worked from home most of the time. T-Mobile surprisingly has good signal. Only thing to complain is the noise from the furnace in basement, can be heard from the master bedroom.
Really nice place in the winter. Lots of privacy, great yard for the dogs to run around. Great hikes in the area, close to skiing and cross country skiing.
Wonderfully secluded property with great deck. Very clean. Comfortable furniture and extremely well equipped with washer dryer appliances. Gorgeous area Bethel, Newry, and the pond is uncrowded. Owner is a real pleasure to work communicate with and always gets back promptly. My wife and I thought this was our best Vrbo ever.
This place was perfect for our family including our dogs. Close to so many hiking trails. Communication with the owner was great. Any questions I sent were quickly responded to.
Inspite of the weather we made the best of it. Nice privacy nice layout of the house. Large deck to sit on. Only issue is the " private lake access " misleading. Made it sound like you have your own private dock and that's not the case. And if they do need better directions to it.
We used it for a Work/Ski Holiday. Clean, cozy, practical 3 bedroom. Internet and Cell service (T-Mobile) was great! Easy access to Sunday River and local towns/amenities. Great for a winter working getaway!
Really great house for a quick get away! The lake access was perfect, the grill was easy to use, and the property itself was great for my dog! We had 0 problems and the owners were incredibly communicative and helpful whenever a question arose!
The house was very clean and you could see a million stars at night! A little farther to the lake than we had thought but overall a perfect fit for our family of 4! Great area to hike and lots of cool things to see like Frenchman’s Hole and the waterfalls at Screw Auger Falls
We couldn't have wished for more! The home was clean, comfortable, and loaded with anything you may need. The privacy was perfect, the lake was incredible and not over crowded one bit. The private dock, lake access, topped it off and made it worth every dollar spent.
I'd definitely return, probably for a week next time. I would highly recommend to anyone who needs a bit of peace and tranquility in their life.
Thank you Don for the easy check-in and prompt responses via text.
Nice spot near the lake. Not ON the lake as a dock photo might lead to believe. Nice place still.
The owners were communicative, kitchen was well appointed, the washer dryer worked, WiFi was fast, and it was clean. On a work trip that’s about all I need. Howard pond is very nice, short drive to public access to the lake, maybe 10 minute walk max. Up the hill from lake.
we spent 10 days here with our daughters which was so great. House has everything needed however we brought our own. Lake is nice so is the neighbor. We will come back. Well recommended
We found some degree under couches and trash overflowing in designated area and beds uncomfortable. Also fire place didn’t work . But love the house and enjoyed everything else. Thank you to the owners.
We really enjoyed our stay. A short drive to Sunday River and we had some great days skiing.
The property was clean and had all the basics we needed. Communication with the owners was easy and they always responded quickly to any questions.
We would definitely stay again!
