This lovely mountain home will certainly provide peace, quiet and privacy for your much deserved vacation. Step inside and add a little “oohlala” to the trip. Families will enjoy the lovely furnishings and all sorts of extras too. Shoot a game of pool on the freshly refurbished table, watch the game or read by the home offers it all. Outside the theme is nature and there are so many ways to enjoy it. You can recline on the deck, relax in the brand new hot tub, run in the yard or enjoy the scenery from the lovely sunroom. Winter guests will enjoy an easy drive to the slopes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome guests at Bear’s Retreat too!

Family weekend

Conditions were great and the house was accommodating,clean, comfortable and had plenty of room for 7 people. We appreciated the snow being pushed from the driveway and the walkways being shoveled ( for future reference, clear a better path to hot tub and gas grill). Staff ( thanks Kat) was friendly and answered all questions. We will be back!

A perfect place for our group

The hot tub has plenty of room for multiple people and the outdoor area is very pretty as we got to watch deer and birds while relaxing in the hot tub. The game room is great too-perfect for hanging out and shooting pool or just watching a football game.

Such a great place

Absolutely loved the house. Big but cozy. Outdoor area was lovely. Hot tub under the stars. Sunroom was perfect for a rainy day. Kitchen well stocked. There’s a keurig. I didn’t notice it in the pictures. Wonderful time. Quiet area but close to things to do

Summer in Canaan

The location of this property is incredible! The kids (and adults) loved the fire pit, hot tub, and pool table! It was very dusty, especially the ceiling fans, central air/heat ducts, and under the beds, but the hot tub was very clean. There were issues with the appliances, but nothing that detracted from our stay. The property manager was quick to respond.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have rented houses in this area for over 20 years including this one twice before. We’ve always liked the location, space, and the ability to bring a pet. With that being said, our overall experience last weekend was poor. The house is in need of a serious deep cleaning, multiple maintenance issues, including a hot tub that was cold the entire time. Although the realty company was polite, the $65 refund hardly covers the disappointment. Very sad because it’s a beautiful house overall in a special place for my family, but we will not trust to rent again.

It has a smell to it and alot of dog hair in the carpet but it is pet friendly. Not sure red carpet would be my first choice with pets. You can't adjust the temperature of the house because the thermostat changes to certain settings. 3 tvs but only one works. Coming back next month but this time will be staying with another rental company.

A little slice of heaven

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home backs up to the reserve so it is very private and the view of the stars from the hot tub is out of this world. The Pool table is a lil rough but still worked well enough. Only real complaint is it could stand a good cleaning..I had to do the windows myself so we could enjoy the view. But I would definitely stay again!! This is our 8th vacation in the area but the 1st with this company, gotta say the staff couldn't have been any nicer, they will be our go to from now on as we definitely never received that kinda service from the previous rental company. Highly recommend!!

The one thing I found was the kitchen was not well stocked with pots and pans. I like to cook but was able to make do with what was available plus what I took with me from home. There was plenty of glassware and other dishes.

Very nice stay!

We loved your home it was very spacious and particularly clean. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. There was one set of outside lights on either side of the game room windows, they must stay on all the time? Because we could not find a switch for those. Better directions for using the television would be recommended. Fortunately MICHAEL, the property manager, was able to help us figure it out. Also some directions for use of the hot tub would be a good idea, as I didn’t use it because I couldn’t figure out how to turn the temperature up. As an aside our mini dachshund was able to get under the three season room. Of course not under my supervision with a leash on, but when my husband let her off leash… She was under approximately 30 feet. This created a bit of a problem because she was so far and we couldn’t get her out. Again, his fault but it should be noted that the foundation and lattice does not go all the way to the ground in some places. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend this relaxing property for all sizes of parties. We loved that there were two televisions so we didn’t have to watch the same shows… Just like at home, where we watch different programs. When we were looking for the realty/property management office we had a bit of trouble… They did warn us that GPS didn’t work. However, mentioning that it’s a small Plaza would’ve been helpful. Thank you for a very relaxing stay!

The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for cooking meals. Beds were very comfortable and everyone slept well. The kids enjoyed the games and the hot tub. Great home for our family. Plenty of room. Aside from the ants the house was pretty clean. My adult kids loved the hot tub. Comfortable beds. Nice rec room with a pool table. Would stay again. Would not recommend Momma Mia for any meal. Go to Davis. 9 out of 10

Relaxing, Great Location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here for four nights in early December. The location is perfect for the ski lodge. It’s walkable to the lodge if you are ok with carrying your gear that far. We didn’t have ski weather when we visited but we enjoyed taking walks and visiting local areas. The house has a great layout. The sun porch and game room were great. We really enjoyed the hot tub at night looking at the stars. We were there during a meteor shower and it was amazing. The home needs a deep cleaning though. We also experienced an ant problem during our stay. The warm weather really brought them out, I think. There was a hazard that we discovered around the hot tub, unfortunately. My son hopped out of the hot tub and punctured the bottom of his foot on a rusty screw that looked to be a tie down that was no longer used. We assume it was covered by the step ladder to get into the hot tub, but we had moved it not realizing what was underneath. Quick trip to the Davis ER (we were expecting much longer wait) for an updated tetanus shot, some antibiotic ointment and band aids and he was feeling better quickly. The house wifi was spotty. I think we were able to use it maybe five hours or so during our stay. An updated router would probably do wonders. We would stay here again, but having these issues addressed would make this home perfect.

Property was as described. I echo the some of the comments regarding the bedroom with the twin beds and the third bed: the double bed in that room is sloped and appeared unusable. However, we had more than enough comfortable beds for the 5 adults. Also echo the comments regarding the jets in the hot tub. Only a few worked. But it was still enjoyable. Management seems to have heard the comments about the cookware. We brought our own specialty pans but found there to be more than adequate cookware to suit our needs.

Nice place

Definitely needs new mattresses on all beds. Need cable TV and TV'S in all rooms. Wifi is spotty. The beautiful October mountain's and trails made up for a lot of it.

Vacation 2021

The home was exactly like the pictures. The hot tub was excellent! My wife spent an hour in the Jacuzzi tub! We was out and about doing things during the day, but really enjoyed the evenings at the house. It was clean and plenty of room for the five of us. We was able to relax and enjoy our three days there.
