About this property
Quirky 18th Century Fisherman's Cottage
Full of character Sea Haven is in the centre of Seahouses so everything from the harbour/nearest beach/shops/restaurants/pubs/bus stop are all within a 2 minute walk. From the front door it’s 2 minutes to nearest beach to allow any doggie friends to have a roam around. At the harbour you can get the boats over to the Farne Islands a beautiful bird sanctuary with a variety of birds but most notable is the beautiful Puffin who nests here. May/June/July you can guarantee a dolphin or two that will play with the boat and love their picture taken! From the main beach you can walk towards Bamburgh Castle, cut through to the village for refreshments before the walk back. A great experience. Another beautiful beach is in Beadnell and you can easily walk there in 15-20 minutes or 3-5 mins in car. Sea Haven is great as a base to explore Northumberland ie Alnwick (20 mins); Berwick (30 mins); Holy Island (25 mins). There’s a bus service that you can take that goes down the coastline all the way to Newcastle. Tickets currently £2.50.

About the host
Hosted by Jill

We firstly owned a caravan at Waren Mill caravan park just outside Bamburgh so every Friday it was early finish, car packed, kids picked up from school and on the road by 4pm! We just love the area. As the kids grew up and the caravan needed to be replaced we decided to buy our first cottage in Seahouses with the aim that we would let a few weeks and use it ourselves. Well that didn’t work as it was so popular that it was never free! Eventually we had 3 cottages so usually managed the odd weekend. Now as the family have left the nest we are back to 1 cottage, our favourite Sea Haven.
Why they chose this property
Easy we love it, never get bored exploring the area.
What makes this property unique
It was an original fishermans cottage and the sheds are still at the back of the cottage where fish were prepared. No large enclosed garden or fancy hot tubs here but a nice enclosed terrace where you can sit with a cuppa and guaranteed to be talking to someone within minutes!
