Beautiful upgraded ground floor 1 bedroom 2 bathroom unit on Fazio's first fairway. Tastefully decorated. The extended living room replaces lanai with a wall of windows /sliders facing golf course with beautiful view of sunset and added space. Beautiful cherry wood and granite kitchen and both bathrooms. Main bathroom is a show tub combo and master bathroom having a stand shower. Porcelain tile throughout. A/C in the bedroom and updated kitchen with everything you need. Cable TV, phone, and Wi-Fi. Owner has added boogie boards and beach chairs for guests to use. Linens and towels are provided. Pool and barbeque just outside your door. This property also has pickle ball, basketball and Tennis courts.

Welcome to Kuilima Estates, the condo property located on the grounds of world-renowned Turtle Bay. The condos are surrounded by two beautifully manicured golf courses and are the only condos on the North Shore. This is a great place to relax, rewind, and restore, and a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The condo property is a short walk to the hotel and to a lovely, sheltered, coved beach, where you can swim, snorkel, and surf. We have our pools, with lounge chairs, an outdoor shower, and charcoal BBQ grills. Bring your own equipment and play tennis on our courts at no charge. Experience the comforts of home as you experience aloha!
Since we are in a tropical environment, it is common to see insects and geckos in the condos. No amount of spraying will completely eliminate insects, especially ants.

Great Location, but needs major remodel
Starting with the dishes in the cupboard had dried food on them, the TV in the living room was maybe new in 2002 and teh guide feature didn't workz plus no instructions for either TV. The pool is good, but I cut myself on the screen door going the 1st time, because the contol for the door doesn't hold as it should( old). While it was nice to have beach chairs they are rusty, old and falling apart. The shower in the big bathroom is extremely hard to turn on. If a VRBO is supposed to be competitive with a hotel, shampoo, conditioner and lotion should be furnished.The pool/outdoor staff is ver nice and accomodating.

Had water amenities like snorkel gear available. More than two beach towels and some bbq tools might be a good idea. A text or email with all information might have made check in more effective but a very helpful security guard saved the situation. It was partly our fault for coming to the property after dark but no lights on the unit numbers was a struggle.

The Potential for a Nice Experience

Reviewer Comments: If you want a location away from the touristy vibe of Waikiki, this spot is for you. The unit was nice but included no place to sit outside even though it had a sliding door opening to the golf course view. Despite the description indicating it had A/C, the only unit was in the bedroom so the living/kitchen areas got quite warm even with the ceiling fan on and windows open. The light switches in the bedroom, closet, and outside didn't work and it could have used a suitcase rack like those found in hotels, especially if one has trouble bending over and didn't want to put a suitcase on the bed to unpack. If you plan to cook, bring your own salt & pepper. We had to buy some and we left it for those staying after us. The main bathroom is off the hallway and a decent size, but the one in the bedroom, conceivably for use by more than one person, is very small with very little counter space. It would have been better if the design of the bathrooms had been switched. Being our first time to the North Shore, we didn't know what to expect so note that the roads are mostly one lane each way and were quite crowded with people looking for places to park for beach access if not going to the beach in the resort area. Plan accordingly. You do get what you pay for.

Everything was great, except the air conditioner. It is located in the room so in order to cool the living room, it has to be at full blast and leave the door open. When you are sleeping the AC is really loud (because you want to keep the living room cool) so it takes a couple of nights to get used to the AC noise.

I slept on the pullout sofa bed in the living room area. Had to keep ceiling fan on high above the bed just to keep from being miserably warm while trying to sleep. Kept window shades closed day and night trying to stay cool.Noticed several of the other units had 2 A/C units. One in living room and one in bedroom.

Though you hadn't asked our permission for that, I was glad because 035 was very fine and we loved being right on the grass. All went well except that we could not lock either the big sliding glass or big screen doors. In fact, I couldn't even close the glass door -- it was too heavy and somehow not properly in its grooves. My husband closed it but we could never lock it. I'd have let you know, but we got so busy I never had time. Thank you, though, for a wonderful vacation.Elizabeth Farnsworth

I do wish there was a king size bed instead of a queen, but it was a comfortable bed. The sofa is also more comfy than some of the other units’. It’s clean, which is imperative for me. I was surprised there wasn’t any salt and pepper, but I appreciate the soap for the bathrooms, kitchen, washing machine, and dishwasher. I’d stay here again (my husband works in Lai’e often and when I accompany him, we choose these rentals over the hotel whenever possible.

First Time Problem

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stay in this unit as well as others at least annually, and have never had any problems up until this stay. Less than 24 hours into a 5 day stay, we received an email accusing us of damaging something. We damaged nothing, and no "inspector" other than ourselves was in the unit for that 18 hours in question, so this is clearly an error. We have tried for a week now to get this corrected, but they won't even respond to our emails or our phone calls.

The design of the unit was comfortable also and the kitchen was very pretty and well equipped. The bathrooms were out dated and not very clean. Ants were on the floor of the bathroom, bedroom floor, climbing up the wall of the bedroom right over the bed and also in the kitchen. Ant traps were in the kitchen but looked old. No other ant traps were in the unit. Several ants were found in the bed linens and that was gross. A used water bottle was left under the table where the books and magazines were laid out. Apparently the cleaning crew missed that when cleaning the floor. The smell of the unit or horrible when we first opened it up. It smelled like mildew and mold and old wet clothes. We opened the windows and aired it out and that helped. The bed was very UNCOMFORTABLE. Lumpy and hard and the headboard was old,peeling,and flopped against the wall if you sat on the bed. THE BED NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BUT A KING SIZE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. It was way too small and we are not big people. The couch and chair in the living room were comfortable and having a table and bar stools was appreciated. The TV worked well, although we didn't use it that much. The added touch of the owner's welcoming book and sign in book and picture book was a nice touch. Overall, the cleaning crew needs to step it up a couple of notches and the exterminator needs to make a visit and the bed really needs to be replaced.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nicely remodeled unit. Great location 7 minute walk to Turtle Bay, you can see Lei Lei's restaurant from the back door. Very cool.We arrived at 4pm as instructed by the management company, we used the gate code provided and it just rang and rang and rang, nobody answered to let us in. We reversed and waited for about 10 minutes until a resident let us in. When we found the unit, the assigned parking stall was taken(presumably by the owners, which is fine but we were instructed to park only in that stall). When we approached the unit it was still being cleaned so we walked down to Turtle Bay and had a drink, when we returned, they were done cleaning and they did a very good job.However, the unit had NO amenities. There was no sponge or dish soap to wash dishes, or soap for the dish washing machine. There was no shampoo, conditioner or soap in either bathroom, the towels were in the dryer and still very much wet, we ran them again in the dryer and they were still wet, so we hung them throughout the unit to dry.Overall we enjoyed our stay, but felt that the management dropped the ball on our visit.

We enjoyed the nearby hotel amenities, poolside entertainment nightly, surf lessons and Kuilima Cove beach (great for kids) as well as Kawela Bay. This condo shows pride of ownership and we will be staying here again.
