Great Location
Overall we had a wonderful experience. We really enjoyed the location. Right by the Broad Street Market and close to restaurants. Amazing bookstore across the street with great coffee! The property is pretty much as advertised. Plenty of space for our family to enjoy themselves. We had a few minor maintenance issues but the owners were super responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

Exactly what we needed
We chose a place in Harrisburg to be our home base as we went to a Senator’s game, Hershey Park, and Gettysburg. This property was exactly what we needed for my family (husband, teenage daughter and 11yo son, as well as my husband’s parents. I reached out to the owner a few times (before and during our stay), and they were quick to respond and truly great hosts. There were two full baths attached to the 2nd floor bedrooms (one is super tiny), but having an additional 1/2 bath on the first floor was needed with 6 people. I hadn’t considered that when renting, but was extremely glad to have it. The 3rd bedroom is on the 3rd floor, so it was perfect for my kids to stay up there. We didn’t cook beyond coffee and warming up leftovers, but the kitchen would have been a great space if we needed that. The location is great, too. It was easy to get everywhere we wanted to go. I was excited about walking the half block to Broad Street Market, but didn’t realize they are only open from Thursday-Saturday. So we ended up eating dinner at the restaurant next door - Millworks. The customer service is meh, but the food and cocktails and atmosphere are amazing. Even though most of the restaurant was empty and servers were standing around, they refused to seat us before our reservation time, so we walked around, looking at the artist galleries in the building. Fascinating. Overall, it was a great stay and we would rent the same place again.

Started Good, Ended Bad
Recently stayed here for a family weekend trio to Hershey Park. Going to break down PROS and CONS. Check in process was easy once the owner put in the correct lockbox number. Parking was behind the property but we had to come around front to get in because we couldn’t get in the back door. Not always the safest feeling at night. (partial CON). Property was clean. Distance to Hershey Park was approximately 25 minutes away but easy drive. CONS: Back slider was horrible. We could barely open it because it did not slide. Kids could not ever open it. PRO was that owner agreed to check it out after it was mentioned post-stay so hopefully that has been repaired. Air Conditioning: The weekend we stayed there it was close to or over 100 degrees every day! Listing states air conditioning on 3rd floor. This was a stand-alone unit that took HOURS to cool off. When initially contacted owner, he indicated it “showed it was working”. This was because he had the controls on his phone! It did end up working successfully during the night. On top of that, the air conditioning in the rest of the house shut off during the night to the point where the family on the 2nd floor woke up in a total sweat because of the heat. Thermostats were on a timer CONTROLLED BY THE OWNER OFF-SITE. Unacceptable. Owner did remedy it, however, was argumentative when we asked to have access to the thermostat. To have the comfort of the home controlled offsite is honestly ridiculous. Mot

Great townhouse in Harrisburg!
Our group was five 30-something moms on a girls weekend. We actually had plans to go to the beach in NJ, but hurricane threats forced us to change our plans at the last minute! Qui was great to work with on this change of plans. We booked on Thursday afternoon for a Friday arrival. He quickly responded and made sure that the house was cleaned right before our arrival. The house is perfect to accomodate a group of 6 or less people. There are two rooms with each with a queen bed, and a loft with two single beds. The kitchen was modern with a new stove/oven, and newer and very clean fridge and dishwasher. It is an open floor plan with comfortable furniture and large flatscreen tv. The basement has a fun ping pong table rec room. Linens and towels were all crisp and clean. Kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to make meals at home. While we were there, we visited the Harrisburg central market, Milworks and Hershey Park. This rental is about a 15 minute drive from Hershey park. There are walkable restaurants and shops that are steps from the townhouse. Parking was easy with a private parking lot in the back. There is one assigned spot and many guest spots available. Owner checked in with us via text once during the weekend to make sure our stay was going well. It was thoughtful to have the check in. Thank you !

Welcoming, spacious, great location.
I have 3 married children and 1 about to get married. To welcome the newest "wife" to this crazy family, we chose Harrisburg as a central location for the women of the family to get together for some bonding. We came from multiple directions and just gathered in the house the first night. We cooked dinner and all sat in the living room talking all evening. The location is fantastic - right in the heart of a walkable downtown with a selection of restaurants and shops. It was a few blocks from the river walk where some of us walked in the morning and others did their morning run. We stopped at 4 different restaurants to nibble through the day, listen to some live music and ended with a fabulous dinner. Every place we went had a little different personality - but each was wonderful. We enjoyed strolling through the Broad Street Market (note - not open on Sundays). The house had 3 bedrooms with at least 2 beds in each room and 2 full baths (a must with 5 women)! The wifi was down when we arrived but a quick message to the host and he had someone come by and get it back up and running (a thrown breaker) - fantastic experience on the communication and resolution. Coming from multiple directions, we were concerned at first about parking because the place only comes with 1 free parking space. The host was so easy to work with to obtain 2 more passes (small fee). All pre-communication was clear and timely. We will likely come back - some time when City Island and baseball are in full swing. Maybe the Riverboat will run again soon too! Highly recommend.

Good Stay
Nice place overall but minimalistic in nature. Some things weren’t operational but we made do. It does sleep a lot of people but there are only 2 queen beds so when sleeping 5 grown men, the twin mattresses can be a challenge (quite uncomfortable). My biggest complaint was that of the parking. There is on street parking with permitted access only and parking in the complex as well. However, you have the pay the owner for the permit to be able to park in the complex, seems like that should be a part of the deal. Overall a decent stay, second time in the property in the last 3 years.

Not Clean at all
Required to remove shoes inside the home fine, but clean the floors. Drawers had trash, under the sink there was trash. Bed linens stained with some type of blood looking residue. Poor quality beds, mismatched linens. Ants all over. Who likes to sit and have bugs crawling all over them? toilet seat in upstairs bath completely broken on one side. Outside garbage can overflowing from previous renter and I was expected to bring to the front. Owner not very helpful and rude. Pictures taken of everything and even the way we left the property in case this prompts her to leave my family a bad review. I don’t appreciate the pressure to leave a good review and message them privately about issues. If I had been able to see what this place was really like I would not have rented it for my family. No ac in the upstairs rooms, 90 degree weather made for very hot nights. Again the owner was not very friendly. I’m not sure what the cleaning fee covered. There were a lot of demands to take the trash to the curb, wash towels, etc. not very pleased.

Week of Christmas in Midtown Harrisburg
We had a very comfortable 7-day stay in this spacious and fully-stocked townhouse. It was our first time in Harrisburg and we were a little concerned about the neighborhood when we first arrived however we ended up enjoying the urban environment. The pros included the Broad Street Market and huge bookstore located just one block away. We also enjoyed walking along the riverfront. The cons were occasional panhandlers asking for money when we were out walking and a few late nights we heard loud voices on the street out front. Fortunately the wine store across the street closes early so most nights were fairly quiet. We would not hesitate to stay in this property again.

In town for a family wedding
We really enjoyed our stay. The property was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with the essentials. There was plenty of room for the family. The basement was great for the kids to play Foosball while the adults were upstairs. Also, since Harrisburg is mainly on-street parking, the parking space in the parking lot alone is a reason to stay. Thank you for your hospitality. If we are in the area again, we would definitely book this property again.

Good value, lots of space
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The condo is spacious, which was great for our family. It was clean and nicely decorated, and the owners were responsive by email (they prefer not to text). The kids loved the ping pong and foosball too! However, the first floor, where the kitchen and living room are, smelled like a smoker's home. This was odd, as the manual talks about charging a huge fine to anyone who is caught smoking, but we all noticed it immediately, and it didn't go away over the course of the week. The location was good in that it is only 25 minutes from Hershey Park and about an hour from Amish Country, and there is an amazing bookstore and a really cool market only a block away! However, we had some concerns about the neighborhood - we were advised by an employee of the liquor store across the street not to walk more than two blocks in one direction because it wouldn't be safe. Overall, though, this condo met our needs and we enjoyed our stay.

Family Get Together
We were there for family get together. Rental was close to Hershey and easy to access the highway. For the most part the property met our needs but lacked spaciousness and seemed to be more like a dorm room or college apartment. During our stay it was hot and although there was adequate air conditioning for the lower levels the bedrooms upstairs were HOT. The mattresses could stand to be upgraded. In my opinion the property could be upgraded to meet the 5 rating but lacks higher quality items. The living room furniture, kitchen furniture, flooring in kitchen and living room, and mattresses should be of the highest quality so when tenants come they don't want to leave. Also anything in disrepair needs to be fixed before tenants arrive ( screen door, wall below oven hood, and kitchen wall outlet). Not sure if there was patio furniture but that would be nice. Also there were ants. I have stayed at many vrbo homes and this did not meet the 5 rating I am accustomed to. You have nice property and with these upgrades it would be marvelous!

Decent option vs hotel
Property was overall very clean inside. Some carpets were stained but not something I thought was "dirty". Bedding/mattresses are old and not comfortable. One bed had a memory foam that was too small for the bed, others you could tell were very old (felt plastic like) and headboards were not attached. There were not enough sheets for all beds, no paper towels and there were electrical outlet covers missing exposing the outlets/wires. This was a much better place to stay for large parties than hotel rooms but considering the above, would not stay there again. Advised owners of issues and they were quick to say issues would be fixed immediately. However we were only there for 3 days so did not see any of this. We did get an apology but that was all. For $300 a night including fees, would have expected more. Property was about 15 minutes from Hershey Park which was the reason for staying here.

Spacious and clean
Easy to find not too far from I-81 or I-83s, with private off-street parking. Three bedrooms each with multiple beds to accommodate various sized groups. Basement game room with foosball, ping pong futon and tv. Central air conditioning, HD Tv with various streaming options. Owners responded within the hour to questions. Location seemed to be in a better part of downtown Harrisburg and drove by several nearby restaurants. There were recommendations provided by the owners. Many of the city's attractions seemed to be pretty close, but Harrisburg itself wasn't our main destination. We didn't do much research ahead of time and found that we weren't really compelled to explore the city, particularly after a couple long days at the Hershey complex. We just appreciated the easy access, parking and space to wind down.

Clean and in a great city spot
We were in town for the weekend to attend a wedding. This townhouse had the capacity to accomodate many more than we needed, but we were happy to find a pup friendly place in the midtown neighborhood. The kitchen seemed well appointed, though we only used the fridge and coffeepot. The owners were responsive with any pre-stay questions and questions we had upon arrival. Even though this is a townhouse with shared walls, we had no noise issues on either side. Loved going to the Broad Street Market and had a hard time deciding which restaurant to walk to for dinner. Minor suggested improvements include having more towels available and possibly adding some power strips to the bedrooms so guests can more easily find a place to charge their devices.

Hi, thanks for checking out my place. I live to travel and meet new people and taste delicious new foods. Throughout my travels across the globe, it's always great to find a comfortable place to recharge and relax. That's what I will try to do for you here. And I have lived in the area for over 30 years so let me know if you want to do something particular. Also, I am a professional real estate investor and as such, I want you to have an exceptional experience while staying at any of my properties. This is how I make my living. Your comfort and enjoyment are my top priorities. Feel free to provide me honest feedback after your stay as I strive to improve. And your top reviews are very important to me. Thanks for considering my property for your stay in one of PA's top historic and well hidden treasure.

Why they chose this property

Let me tell you about this fantastic property in the heart of Midtown Harrisburg. My wife and I have lived in this spacious townhome for over 10 yrs. It's bright, super clean, modern and airy. Also, there are so many things to do and see. And the best is you can either walk or bike to most destinations on both shores of the Susquehanna River. The locals call it the East and West Shore. (Property is on the East Shore.) Lots of trails and the sunset views of the river are to die for.

I chose this house because of its location: easy and super fast access to all major highways, access to Amtrak or Greyhound just downtown, walk to everything if you're car-less. Best of all, the quality of living is superb. True urban living.

For example, the snowfall in the winter is an amazing site over the river. Great time for hot chocolate and snuggle in for a great movie. Spring and summer time means lots of outdoor activities. There are festivities on Front Street from Spring to Fall. Check them out on the site for all events and happenings.

The Susquehanna Arts Museum is just 2 blocks away. The Midtown Theater is 3 blocks away with an eclectic list of short and sundance type movies. The Midtown Bookstore is 1 block away with lots of great reads. The Dauphin County Library is just 7 minutes away. Live music can be had just across the street. If you like a nice wine or liquor, just walk across the street (literally) and they will be able to help you with suggestions.

If the bar and restaurant scene is your thing, then all you have to do is just pick one and walk there. Lots of great eats surrounding this home. Live music - check. Karaoke - done. Romantic walks at anytime of the day - check and check. You get the drift.

What makes this property unique

My favorite thing to do while I had lived here was walking or running with my great dane on Riverfront. You can go either direction and it's absolutely beautiful. If going North, you will find the Governor's mansion and huge historic mansions. On south Front Street, you have downtown and City Island. The AA baseball team plays there as well as the soccer team. There are sand volleyball courts for your use (free). Kids will love the train and mini-golf. Kayak and canoe rentals there too.

Anyhow, you will not be disappointed. I have furnished the place for your comfort with a full kitchen. Otherwise, takeout can be had just walking out the door. If you're bored, there is an old school Xbox with tons of games. If you're a book worm, there are some good reads. We have Netflix, Prime, Sling TV and cable TV (if avaiable from power antenna) for your tube-o-holics :-)

Come and experience what Harrisburg has to offer. We have one spot for private, off-street parking.
