About this property
Relaxing, peaceful, and lush horse farm. Quiet, 30 acres, & close to everything!
On the prettiest street in town. Imagine a nature preserve as your backyard. This house with adjoining stable is in triple mint condition with a 4,000 acre nature preserve as your backyard.
Imagine entering the 20 acre estate through gates that open to an enchanting private drive lined with trees, leading to a pretty and tranquil large pond—home to turtles, fish, deer, prehistoric pileated woodpeckers and birds and animals of all kinds. Pastoral and beautifully fenced horse paddocks line the entire estate and lead to our backyard which is a sanctuary for wildlife. This paradise is like any other in or near the own.
The Walthour-Moss Foundation was established to ensure the preservation of the open land that Pappy and Virginia Walthour Moss so treasured. They made this the epicenter of fox hunt country. The Foundation is located in the Sandhills of North Carolina, one mile from the town of Southern Pines. It occupies over 4000 acres, virtually unspoiled by progress and development.
This stretch of only 12 farms on this 7 mile stretch of Youngs Road is private and quiet with the closest neighbor 1/4 mile away. A rural feel with all you could want only 4.2 miles away! The downtown quaint and historic little village is lined with mom and pop shops and storefronts and a charming little train station right out of a children’s storybook. Beyond it just / miles away is all you could want—endless restaurants, shopping, boutiques, high end thrift stores and consignment shops, specialty grocery stores, craft breweries, cigar rooms, cafes and coffee shops. There’s even the world’s smallest coffee hut where card line up in the morning for their fix in ancup. and smoke shops galore.
We call it “beachfront property” because the few homes on the nature preserve side of the road is the most sought after in hunt country—and it is as desirable as it gets. Surrounded by nature, animals and birds at every turn. The deer come every evening for dinner of corn which we supply and they are a delightful to watch while we sit with a glass of wine while they are right outside our windows—often just feet away! Open vistas with a cobalt blue sky perfect for stargazing.
We offer three bedroom and all are situated in a way that offers maximum privacy. Three full baths with two baths en suite. One bedroom is in a separate apartment with its own kitchen and bathroom and living room all connected by a 10 foot long breezeway and only 20 steps from the house.
