Magical Cove

Overall this property is fantastic. I grew up summering on the same lagoon and there is something special about this location. House was very nice, kitchen is minimal but good enough. Plenty of towels, kayaks and SUPs. Great spot.

Perfect Little Spot on the Water

This is a great little cottage on Lagoon Pond. The pictures are accurate. The property was clean. There are paddle boards, kayaks, beach chairs, etc. to enhance your stay. The beach would be perfect for kids as it has no waves, a gentle slope and a soft bottom. The dock and mooring are great if you own or rent a boat. A large deck with plenty of chairs gets great morning sun and shade in the afternoon. I would happily stay here again and would recommend this this property to friends.

Tranquil waterfront property close to town!

Each year, when my family travels to MV, we stay at a new place. This was by far the best rental we have stayed at! The waterfront is great if you have active kids. We were able to kayak and paddle board right in our own backyard so to speak. The home itself is full of everything you need; beach towels, mats and chairs, linens, AC, and extra fans. Although there are only two bedrooms, there is plenty of space for a large family. Some might complain about the lack of curtains in the lower level where the futons are because the sun rises in the back of the house and with all windows, it is very bright. Personally, I appreciated it because it helped wake my sleeping 16 year olds, who could sleep all day if I let them. There are two full bathrooms, which is so nice to have and there is also an outdoor shower which we couldn't figure out how to use, but a nice feature to have if you can figure it out. The deck is a fabulous place to have your morning coffee; between the views and the tranquility, it's a great way to begin your day. There are two working grills on the deck, which was great for when we hosted family that were staying at another rental. The kitchen could use some small updates; measuring cups, maybe some mixing bowls but other than that, it did the job. The home is at the end of a quiet street which is so great but also close enough to town. It's maybe a 5 minute drive to downtown Vineyard haven and a 12-15 minute ride to downtown OB. The rental agency was very accommodating and easy to work with. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to renting this property again some day!

Great Waterfront Property!

If you want to be near the water, this house checks all the boxes: great views, easy water access and relaxing location. House is dated; lacks modern amenities and appliances. Updated linens and pillows would enhance the experience. Third bedroom downstairs was a plus. House is car dependent and down a narrow, sloped dirt road. Having a larger car or SUV is recommended.

Awesome Vineyard Waterfront

We really enjoyed our family vacation at this private, waterfront home. We spent a lot of time on the deck overlooking Lagoon Pond watching menhaden fish break the surface and Osprey diving in to catch them! We were able to bring the family boat (23’ center console) over and dock it right at the house. Fishing and tubing on the pond is excellent, and the water is flat. Kids enjoyed catching crabs on the shoreline. All the house systems (AC, showers, appliances ) worked well. I give it a “five”.

Definitely a beach house

The home is surrounded with such beauty and tranquility. The location to the beach along with the dock is fantastic. The house is a bit rustic with basic amenities but missing a broom and vacuum would have been great for sand control. You can’t beat the location and therefore we spent most of our time enjoying being together at the house during our vacation.

Peaceful island retreat! Best lagoon spot!

This lagoon property is our favorite location! So much to enjoy with paddle boarding and kayaking…wildlife galore! Watch the Osprey with your coffee in the morning while enjoying panoramic views of the lagoon. Owner is wonderful! Close to downtown VH and Edgartown!

Quintessential Vineyard Vacation

The lagoon view is possibly one of the best views on the Island. Tucked down at the far end of the lagoon, it's a quiet, boaty neighborhood. The dirt road to get to the house is a bit of an outback adventure, but typical of Vineyard roads, and well worth the bumpy ride once you get to the house. The feel of the place is 100% beach cottage. Cute and cozy space. Might be a bit tight for a larger family, but if most time is to be spent outside, it's size is not an issue. Very funky spot, highly recommended.

Amazingly PERFECT Waterfront Vacation Home

This is our most wonderful stay on MV. The house is beautifully decorated, plenty of room, giant deck with amazing views. The only time we left during our week stay was to pick up groceries. I cannot wait to stay again!

Perfect getaway

We loved our stay. The location was exactly what we were looking for. The paddle boards and kayaks were the best. The fish were jumping and the kids loved fishing off the dock and on the water. The only thing the home needed was better knives and mixing bowls. Loved it would absolutely go back.

Great House

Really enjoyed our week here. The house was clean and comfortable. Such a great location and wonderful setting. I do feel that the renter should be made aware that it is a bit tricky getting to the house as the road is unpaved and in a very wooded area. If a renter wanted to walk from the house to the main road it really would be quite spooky to do so at night. Other than that it was really lovely.

Lovely cottage on the water

My family and I enjoyed our vacation tremendously. The view was absolutely beautiful, lovely to wake up to every morning! It was wonderful to be able to use the kayaks that the owners provided, we used them almost every day. The home is very close to town and ferry. The house had linens/towels and also air conditioning. If you are looking for a cozy home with a stunning view and great location, I would recommend this home!

This place is simply magic.

This is one of my favorite spots on the island. The lagoon is ripe with nature, peace and tranquility and I have had the opportunity to experience it during several seasons. The house is a charming and cozy boat house right on the water! It is so unique to the island, you can't find much that close to the water with a dock and incredible views of the sunrise. Perfect for a waterfront vacation!

Comfortable and Serene

I love this end of Lagoon Pond, the pond is warmer water than the open ocean/beaches, it's almost always calm, it's pretty quiet, and it's a beautiful setting. The rental not only has two kayaks (both are two seaters), it also came with a complimentary waterskiing or similar "adventure" or rental form MV Watersports, which was great (and pretty nearby via water around the corner to the Oak Bluffs marina out the end of the Lagoon Pond area). Having a pier/dock is a big benefit here if you want to pull a boat up, or just sit on the end, fish off it, etc. (even in the mid summer when the lagoon is warm there are some smaller schoolie stripers to catch in the mornings). Most Lagoon Pond houses do not have a dock, this is a nice perk. There is also a deeper water mooring I think if needed for boaters with deeper draft. While someone could sleep on the fold downs downstairs, they are in the one (big) open room there, not really a bedroom, so I'd be leery of using it if I had more people than a queen bed and two small twin beds can handle, unless someone is just there for a night or really doesn't mind no privacy. For just two people, though, it was overly spacious. It was also nice that there is a utility room downstairs with both washer/dryer and counter space, etc. to clean fish, to store things that would clutter the open space, etc. Lots of deck space up and downstairs, and plenty of deck chairs, plus a grill (which we never even used). The kitchen is well furnished, as is the linen closet. This house is set up for year-round living, so there are plenty of drawers, closets, etc. to put things without being cramped like a hotel room feel. When the airport sets up for use of runway 24 (when there is a west wind, which is most of the time) there is a little plane traffic sometimes overhead, but it's not loud and the airport has restricted hours to not start early or continue late. The agent and family were great to deal with, it was all made easy, and everything about this rental was great.

PERFECT GETAWAY!

I absolutely loved this cottage- tucked away from the hustle & bustle --with the most gorgeous views. The big yard was great for BB'qs and two deck with out door shower - upper deck was great for sun bathing. We used the kayaks every morning and enjoyed just hanging out with the family on the shoreline. private dock- go into town by boat--- really fun exploring the island by boat. house was newly furnished and pristine- equip kitchen- linens, and a/c... looking forward to returning!
