This was an amazing experience because of the cleanliness, amenities, and the hosts going above and beyond for our stay. Everything we needed to cook was there and the bed was super comfy! The location was close to everywhere we needed to go. When I forgot when my check out time was, the hosts helped me navigate rides and even helped me carry my bags to the car!! If I ever come to Alaska again, this is where I will be staying!!
Nice, clean unit. It is a half below ground unit, which is fine, but that was unclear in the unit description. Safe, quiet neighborhood, except for a barking dog one night. Overall, good place to stay.
I was very impressed by Hamilton Acres. It was the perfect size and had a safe feeling to it. The bed and furniture were comfortable, and the apartment had everything that one might need. It was nice to have a cozy space to come back to after sight seeing for the day. Lawrence was a great communicator and was on site if needed. It was very clean and well maintained. Very close to Fort Wainwright, if visiting anyone on base. I would recommend Hamilton Acres for a single person or couple. I would definitely stay here again in the future.
It’s ok if you like a cool place in summer, but I was not feeling well and the owner had set the thermostat to a maximum of 70 degrees. The windows were quite dirty and there was no way to get fresh air. It seemed very damp and closed in. But the refrigerator was great, coffee available and everything worked well. The bed was too high and so soft I slept on the couch much of the time. The carpeting was very clean as was the whole apartment, but it’s unlikely to stay that way because some people will undoubtedly walk on it with their shoes - we didn’t except when I forgot momentarily. All in all it is a pretty good deal for a long stay - ours was only two days.
