Relax at our peaceful Lakefront home located on Locust Lake Village’s largest lake. Enjoy the water views from the home’s open-air deck or from the screened-in dining porch, or be up front and personal with Pines Lake from the sandy beach adjacent to the water & personal dock. Our electric golf cart is also available to drive in the community. Fishing, boating, birding, tennis, walks, pickleball, playgrounds, swimming, basketball, sledding and skiing are some of the activities available. We look forward to having you as future guests in our lakefront home. As you drive onto the property on the generously-sized paved driveway and enter the front door under the covered porch, you are welcomed by icons of wilderness days - turn back & see a wall of antlers, duck decoys on the display cabinet, and a archery bow made by a PA craftsman (who fashioned it from a piece of curly maple from a tree felled on the property). Look up at the ceiling of cherry wood from another felled tree. A maple gave us our woodwork in this warm, welcoming space. Continue through the door into the main house, and you pass a locking pocket door to an area that contains a laundry room/powder room. There is also a utility sink for cleaning all those fish you catch from our very well-stocked lakes. (If you’re over 16 y.o., don’t forget to get your PA fishing license. Even though we are a private community, our lakes are still monitored by rangers from the PA Fish & Game Commission). A few more steps takes you into the Living Room which has a propane fireplace, large sofa, recliners, smart TV, and large windows with a view of Pines Lake. Again the use of lumber from our provided this area with the curly maple balusters on the stairs and loft and with the white oak paneling behind the fireplace. This area continues into an open concept kitchen ready for you to entertain friends & family. It has a deep sink, microwave, electric induction cooktop/stove, generous French door refrigerator, a dishwasher and pantry. The backslash contains handmade tiles from the Moravian Tile Works in Bucks County, PA, depicting the variety of woodland and lake animals that can be seen here in Locust Lake Village. The 4 Season Room has a dining table where you, friends and family can gaze at the woods and lake as forest wildlife passes by. We see deer and many woodland and water birds. You may even see a Bald Eagle soaring over the lake looking for a meal for its eaglets. Herons also frequent the water’s edge looking for a meal of small fish & amphibians. The first floor Primary Suite has a king size bed facing sliding glass doors that lead to a covered deck where you can enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail or glass of wine as you watch the sky’s changing colors as the sun sets across the lake. The Primary Bedroom has it’s own private bathroom with double sinks, sliding glass doors to a beautifully tiled shower, and a heated slate floor. The second floor offers 2 separate bedrooms with queen sized beds in each, a TV (w/DVD) and it’s own mini split with a/c for those very occasional warm nights in the mountains. A second full bath with tub/shower services the upper floor. If a 4th bed is needed, in the loft area we can provide an electrically Self-inflating/deflating queen sized platform air bed by Frontgate. This area also has its own large window with a view of the lake and pull-over curtains for visual privacy. Show off your grilling skills on the large outdoor grill on the open deck area. Sit around the dining table under the Sunbrella outdoor sun shade enjoying the lake vistas. After all of that, how about putting together your own S’mores for dessert? Just follow the lighted path down to your private lake beach fire pit and enjoy the dessert around the warmth of the fire. During the daylight hours, follow the path down to the dock and climb aboard the pontoon paddle wheel (aka “people powered”) boat. The “Proud Mary” seats 5 people. Life vests must be worn by kids under 12 by PA law. Please have your own properly sized life jackets for your kids since we cannot possibly know your specific needs. Tired of entertaining the kids yourself? Pile the family into the 4 seat electric golf cart and visit the community beaches (3) - East Lake, Pines Lake and Locust Lake. All have large sandy beaches with playground equipment and bathrooms, 2 have seasonal snack shacks and tree covered picnic areas with picnic tables & charcoal grills (and other kids to distract your kids!) You can also keep young ones busy on the tennis/pickle ball courts (you can request the lights to be turned on at night), basketball at East Lake along with a soccer net in the adjacent field. There is a small chip n putt on the ski hill at the chalet (clubs & balls provided). The Recreation Committee offers craft Time for kids during the week followed by Slip N Slide on the bottom of the ski slope adjacent to the Chalet (weather permitting). Please be aware that every week in the Summer LLV offers Friday Night BBQ’s (wear your wrist bands). Various community clubs offer family fun during the Summer. The Anglers club has fishing contests and the Archery club gives demonstrations & lessons at several open houses during the year. Check the Recreation Committee schedule for dates. In the Winter season the community has a small T-bar ski hill, we also have a sledding hill (both weather permitting). Bring your own sledding device.
