Location was excellent for visiting multiple towns in the area. The fenced in back yard was very helpful for our dog. The place was very clean and close to TART trail access for walking and enjoying the area.
Great vacation space for family and central location
Very nice property. Plenty of room for our family of 6, well stocked kitchen, and super central to all of our favorite places in Leelanau. Carolyn was a great host and had lots of nice extra touches that made us feel at home. Hope to stay again!!
This is a very comfortable house, with plenty of room for a family to spread out. Large fenced yard gave our dog — and a visiting friend — a good workout, running around! Ideal location for access to the Leelanau bike trail, Suttons Bay, and Traverse City. The Lakeview Farm Market is just down the road and carries both their own produce and that of other local farmers/artisans, and Farm Club, too, very accessible and fun. Carolyn is a responsive, friendly host
This property is in excellent shape. Very clean and well kept. Great backyard for the dog and plenty of space for everyone to have quiet time. I would highly recommend this property. This is our second time at this location and hope to come back next year. Our granddaughter calls it her Michigan home. She also enjoyed playing with the bubble lawnmower. Great location to the tart trail and quaint little towns.
We have stayed here several times and it’s a very convenient, comfortable spot to have as your home base for day trips in the area. Definitely recommend!
Property is clean and has plenty of room to move around both inside and out. It is conveniently located to Traverse City and the Leelanau Peninsula. We enjoyed our stay.
We spent a week here while on vacation. Great home, clean, spacious, very convenient to several towns. They also had a nice fenced in backyard for our dogs, which was great. Carolyn was also helpful and responsive. Would definitely rent there again!
Had an absolutely amazing stay! The location is perfect - slightly secluded and very relaxing. But still close to all the fun wineries and activities in Traverse City and Sutton Bay.
We were in town for a family wedding, but I would go back just to visit and enjoy the town more. Carolyn was an excellent host and quick to respond. Had a lovely time!
Overall well kept up to date home. Two very nice living areas, well equipped updated kitchen and bath. Fenced yard was nice for our two dogs. Location was great for accessing.the area west of the west bay.
Great property; fenced in back yard; covered deck table and chairs; beautifully decorated interior; all bedrooms large and furnished smartly; kitchen/dining room/ living room great. Lower level entertainment area is clean and spacious! This is our 3rd year to stay at this property, and we love it!
The home is in a great location close to many of the small towns we enjoy in the area. It was clean and we had plenty of room. My husband fished Lake Leelanau with the boat launch just down the street. The backyard was such a nice place to have our morning coffee and relax. We will definitely stay there again!

Lake teaser
I say teaser because you are so close to lake but can’t take advantage of it because all the lakeside property is across the street and private. That said , it is comfortable, private and well maintained home .
This house is even bigger and nicer than the photos show. The kitchen includes everything you need to cook, utensil-wise. I had brought some items from home, like a veggie peeler and wine opener, but the house had everything. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. Plenty of towels! There's a nice washer and dryer available, so you don't need to pack too many clothes.
The location is great for doing "all the things" in the Leelanau area! We hiked at Empire Bluff, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and several other nearby parks. The views are spectacular. We visited the lighthouse at Northport, several wineries, Fishtown, and it's only 12 minutes into downtown Traverse City.
Tip: Don't miss the Farm Club restaurant down the road! Fabulous fresh, local food!

A very Nice Place to Stay
I was very happy with the house. We had some pretty rainy weather and the house proved to be a real refuge. We had pets so the multilevel floor plan gave them real opportunity to roam as did the fenced back yard. We had little opportunity to explore the property, but we did get one morning and I am sure we would have done more "at home" walks had the weather allowed.
Good location for Lake Leelanau and Suttons Bay, and Leland as well (I was surprised how quickly we could get to Leland. Of course there is close proximity to Traverse City, I preferred the small town quiet of the former places.
The garage became very handy to load and unload the pets in a dry place.
Internet worked fine but I had intermittant cell phone service using Consumers's Cellular.
With the boat ramp so close a summer stay could add some water activities to the schedule.
Everything was well kept and there were no staples missing from the usual occupancy requirements.
A very positive experience and I would consider renting again.
The home's proximity to Lake Leelanau was great on the day we rented a WaveRunner... we could quickly walk back and forth to the boat launch all day long. The huge 22+ acre property allowed us to roam around and explore. The large fenced section of back yard was the dog's joy! The yard was also great for the provided croquet set, disc golf, and fire pit, not to mention just sitting relaxing on the lawn furniture. Indoor there was plenty of room to spread out as well. We had five adults. There was some unexpected remodeling going on, so there were some "rough edges" here and there, the biggest issue being no active range hood or exhaust fan for the cooktop, so we had to open windows when cooking in order to release cooking vapors/odors. The supply of kitchen staples was less than we have experienced in other VRBOs but what was there was unopened and so this may reflect the owner's preference &/or COVID response. Also, there were fewer kitchen appliances/pots/pans than some places we've been but the basics were there. Beds were comfortable. Bed and bath linens were plentiful, but bring your own hair dryer, as one was not provided. A/C worked great, with three cooling zones for the three levels. We were surprised that there were no tourism materials in the rental. We've definitely become accustomed to having those resources available for optimizing our trips by capitalizing on the experiences of others. Again, perhaps such paper materials were disposed of because of COVID? It did make orienting ourselves a bit tougher. The landscaping in the front and back need an overhaul, not a big deal for short-term renters but does change the appearance from what we saw in the listing and some of the branches have to be ducked under to get to the front door. Overall this is a superb location and a home which will probably continue to improve as the remodeling efforts progress. Some easy fine-tuning on the part of the owner will pay off in terms of total renter satisfaction. In summary, a very very very pleasant rental. Thank you!
House was perfect for our group of 4 adults, 3 kids. Great location, super clean and plenty of room for everyone. Communication with Carolyn was excellent. We would happily stay here again in the future.
Loved the house and yard, which was awesome for our dog! Boat launch was a nice, short walk. Loved biking the TART trail,, and many towns are a short drive. House was spacious and wildflowers in yard were beautiful!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house has many renovations, and they were done beautifully. Plenty of space for everyone to space out, and yet gather together for games and hanging out. There were 2 family rooms which is great for those who need a place for sports watching in one room, and movies in another😊.
Owner is sweet, and responsive to all communications in a very quick manner.
House is located within 20 mins of Traverse City, Leland, and Suttons Bay. About 30 mins to the dunes.
Highly recommend!
Loved it. Location is great. about 15min to Traverse City. Walk across the road to Lake Leelanau. A lot of great spots 1hr or less from here. The house is beautiful. A lot of updates have been made. The pictures online when we booked it appeared a little dated, but OK. When got there everything was new and top notch. The fenced yard is great for the dogs. House was stocked better than other properties we have stayed at. Highly recommend. Communication with owner was also very prompt and easy.
