Great Experience

This is a cute flat in a great location. It was clean (the cleaning lady was actually there when we arrived). It is close to the metro stops, park, and plenty of cafes and convenient stores for your daily wine runs. We were there during a record heat wave and we were happy to have the AC (although it was still quite warm in the lofts, it stayed cold on the first floor). There are beautiful large windows that we would open at night while we drank wine and ate baguettes and cheese. We had the quintessential Parisian moment when one night a street musician strolled down the street playing "La Vie en Rose". Pierre was very accommodating and helpful. My only criticisms would be that the wifi is a little spotty and that be aware that the shower is a handheld which was a little annoying (perhaps that is standard in France).

Wow!

After Spending 6 weeks in Pierre’s apartment we did not want to come home! The apartment is in an excellent location (less than 1 block from Place des Vosges) and blocks from the bustling Bastille area. It is charming, well-equipped and very safe. It is also very large (not only for Paris but for any European city). We very much enjoyed its proximity to metro, the Chemin Vert station for line 8 around the corner takes you to anywhere in the city. Pierre was also very very helpful with suggestions and anything we needed in apartment. The stay at this location made our stay memorable, we hope to stay at this location again in the future. Recommendations for area: L’escurial on the opposite side of square is a must for breakfast and L’ambroisie is excellent for dinner.

Beautiful location, nice host!

It was so fun and we had a great time! It was the rainy season , which didn’t slow us down, but rather than turn on air conditioning, we chose to open the beautiful windows; if you don’t live in the city , the street noise can be overwhelming. The wonderful apartment is surrounded by some really great restaurants which made dining out fun. We walked to Notre Dame and the Louvre and Ste. Chapelle. Wish we had more time!

Charming spot in a lovely area with great restaurants.

Pierre was a great host. Responded to inquiries quickly. The apartment was lovely. As pictured in VRBO. Each loft had a bed and there was a pullout couch. The only non super positive thing I could say is that the beds were just okay. As we had our two kids with us that were on their early twenties one had to use the pullout couch. Excellent restaurants close by. The l’Ange 20 is right across the street and has a great ambience and terrific food. Unless you eat early or late you may need a reservation. Closed Monday’s and Tuesday’s. The Bonne doer was just down the block and is a good spot if you need a quick dinner and the food was very good. We were about a 20 minute walk to Notre Dame. A 30 min walk to the Louvre. And an hour and 15 min walk up the Eiffel Tower. Metro close by and uber a good prion as well. There was a nice little kitchen that we didn’t use much. And a handy washer / dryer that was small but did the trick for a couple of small loads. A terrific spot that I highly recommend.

Great location.... fun apartment

Our family of 6 traveled to Paris in May 2018, and loved our stay in this Paris apartment. It was close to the yellow line on the Open Tour bus, which was great! We used this bus to get around Paris every day, and see the sights! The only negative was that the tub was really difficult to shower in. My husband couldn't stand up in the shower... making it awkward. Despite this, we really enjoyed our stay

Great place in a historic apartment in a great location with a great host. Absolutely loved it!!

We stayed for a month in Pierre's apartment. Highly recommend if someone is looking to stay at a great location and hosted by a great, understanding, helping host who would go out if his way to help. For example, after staying at Pierre's apartment, we were to leave Paris for two weeks on an Italian and Spanish tour. We did not want to carry all the luggage and Pierre happliy agreed to store them for us for 2 weeks. The apartment is well connected to Metro as well as bus. Bus number 69 (recommended by Rick Steves) had a stop at less than 200 meters from Pierre's place. If you want to stay close night life, bingo. The Bastille night life with 24/7 restaurants and pubs are 4-5 minutes walk from Pierre's apartment. Place des Vosage is across the street and Gare de Lyon is 3 stops away. Again, we highly recommend and would love to stay again here.

Great location, but needs some TLC

Overview: This apartment in the Marais district is in a great location near shops, restaurants, and two Metro stations, but is not very well maintained. First - the great parts. Just a few steps to the Place des Vosges, with two little grocery stores across the street, and cute shops, several museums, restaurants and cafes nearby, this place is in a great, safe location. It's also close to two Metro stations on different lines so it's easy to get to lots of different parts of the city. Easy walk (20 minutes) to Notre Dame and Ile St Louis, Ile de la Cite. And as advertised, the apartment is in an old, historic building with huge tall ceilings and cool exposed beams. Plenty of space and at least one of the beds was very comfortable. The other was moderately comfortable. The towel heater in the bathroom was fantastic. Now - the not-so-great parts. Even for an old city apartment (ie, I wasn't expecting a pristine, shiny, new place) this place was not very well maintained. The refrigerator did not work at all and when I asked the landlord he told me, "It's not really my fridge... look on the back for a button to see if you have to push something." So, no milk in the fridge for coffee or saving any leftovers for us. Several of the lights did not work and some of the fixtures didn't even have bulbs or were dangling by wires. The bathroom shower ceiling was very low and mildewed (probably from the handheld shower hitting it all the time) which was kind of icky for my tall son. Also, we were there in February during a cold spell and the heaters in the apartment simply were not sufficient to keep the place warm. For the first two days we had to sit right in front of the heater to stay warm - so we didn't want to hang out there at all. Fortunately, the bedcovers were cozy enough to keep us warm while sleeping. RECAP: Nice enough in warm months if you aren't looking for a pristine condition spot. Good location for safety and mobility.

Charming, funky, great neighborhood, easy access to Metro

This turned out to be a great little apartment for our two week stay in Paris. Wonderful restaurants and the Place des Vosges all within 6 blocks or so...easy to get to 3 Metro stops within a 5 minute walk. The T-v is quirky, we didn't have much time to watch anyway. Very do-able kitchen area...you have to get used to the mezzanine bedrooms. The bathroom could use a bit of updating..but it worked well for our purposes. People watching from the living room window is great..and the neighborhood quiets down considerably after 9 or 10, so the nights are relatively quiet. Pierre is easily contacted..and is a great help for anything you need or have questions about. Resturant L'Ange 20, directly across the street is top notch. We would absolutely stay here again! If The Musee de Picasso..a short walk away is a must see..although 2 of the floors are closed for renovation. Be aware that the Musee Carnavalet is closed until sometime in 2018. Also..take time to visit the Bastille Farmers Market (Sun and Thurs.) and the Craft /art market there on Saturday.Great fun! The only reason I wouldn't give this a full 5 stars(please add 1/2 star to the 4 above) is the somewhat quirky bathroom and the mezzanine access to the beds.

Perfect!

This is our second stay at this lovely apartment. Really perfect location in a wonderful neighborhood. Great shops, amazing restaurants and the beautiful Place de Vosges all within easy walking distance, as well as many museums and points of interest. Accessible to all parts of Paris and beyond via the Metro (short walk to Chemin Vert or Bastille stations). Lovely apartment with plenty of room and lovely views of a typical Parisan neighborhood. Easy commute to and from airport. Highly recommend if you wish to feel like a "local" during your visit.

Excellent apartment in the Marais.

This apartment is ideally located near two Metro stops and several cafe's on a great little street in the Marais. My husband, daughter, niece and myself spent a wonderful Christmas week here. The apartment was the perfect size. We never felt crowded and Pierre was incredibly easy to work with. Would recommend to anyone and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Wonderful apartment and location!

Pierre was a great host, and the apartment was extremely comfortable and functional. My family and I visited Paris in May, and we were very comfortable for the entirety of our stay. The apartment was close to the two different metro stops, and we were able to easily walk to many attractions! Even though the apartment was in Le Marais (and we could people-watch from the windows overlooking the street), it was quiet at night. Overall, if we return to Paris, we will definitely stay here again!

Great little place in a nice location

This was an excellent option for my mother-in-law, teenage daughter and I. I worried that we'd be on top of each other in a single hotel room, but we didn't want to rent multiple rooms. This flat offered 2 beds plus the fold out couch, so it was perfect. It also has a couple of nice sitting areas so that everyone can visit together. We spent most of our time out and about so we didn't really take advantage of the kitchen, TV, etc., but nice to have those things I suppose. The flat is very close to 2 metro stations, which makes getting around the city very easy. Lots of things within walking distance too. In addition to Place de Vosges, you can easily walk to shopping locations, restaurants, etc. Pierre was excellent to work with, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Paris!

Fine

Very kind owner, easily traceable because works down the apartment, well organized apartment, all main attractions are near (we reached Louvre, Notre dame and others walking and one of our group was 73 years old), Metro and bus very near. Avaiable maps ang guide of paris and helps in finding markets, shops and restaurant nearby. The sofa bed for the fifth and sixth person is very uncomfortable.

Great location with easy access to Paris

This was our first trip to Paris and the apartment location made exploring the city easy. The nearby restaurants, shops and bars made for easy access to life's necessities, a bottle of wine and a baguette. The location captures the intensity of the city, but provides a good refuge to wind down at the end of the day. We happened to be there during the last week of Euro Cup, which increased the intensity of the crowds but not as much in the area of the apartment. The apartment has a good working kitchen so not every meal has to be eaten out. The coffee maker was a good friend during our visit as my wife and I really enjoy coffee first thing in the morning. There are several coffee shops around town that sell ground beans for home use. Finally, having a clothes washing machine meant that we did not need to bring as much clothing for the trip. It is a convenience that is often overlooked and we found it useful during our stay. Overall, we felt that the apartment made exploring Paris an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Beautiful apartment and ideal location

The apartment was perfect for our first visit to Paris. Easy walking distance to grocery stores, bakeries, cafes, restaurants, shopping, and a fabulous macaroon shop, Cafe Pouchkine. The Place des Vosges park was about two blocks away and surrounded by amazing art galleries and restaurants. The apartment was comfortable for the four of us (two adults and two children) and had two loft area bedrooms - my children loved hanging out in their loft! The owner, Pierre, was very kind and responsive when booking the reservation. He also provided recommendations for local stores and restaurants, as well as helped arrange a driver to take us to the airport as we had an early return flight. The apartment building felt safe and was well-maintained. The washer/dryer came in handy and I used it a few times during our stay. I would love to stay here again and I highly recommend this property!

Bonito piso

Feel like a Parisian

The location is excellent, super close to Place de Vosges with beautiful galleries, good restaurants, shopping, etc. The apartment sleeps up to 6, with 2 double beds in loft rooms and a fold out couch on main floor. Beds were not super comfortable. Anyone above 5 feet 10 inches will have to duck in the shower. One major plus of the place is the landlord is very helpful. We didn't have much water pressure in the shower so I emailed him, and he had someone come over that day to fix it. A pipe was twisted or something. Really enjoyed our stay here, as we felt like locals in this cute apartment that had all we needed.

August 2015

My family and I were pleasantly surprised at the great location of this apartment. Good restaurants, bakeries, shops, and the metro were all within a moment's walk from the door. We were grateful that the air conditioning worked so well, as there was a heat wave. There was scaffolding on the building during our stay because the building was getting a new roof, so the view out the window was somewhat obstructed by that. I would highly recommend this apartment.

Paris! Location! Location!

We stayed there from July 13 2015 to July 20. We had a great time. We were two adults and to kids (14 & 12). Plenty of room for us four. The place is very nice but the location is just perfect. Easy walk to two metro stations, restaurants, bakery, grocery. We had an excellent time in Paris, everything is pretty much accessible by metro. If you can try the little bistro le Tabarin just east of this place, very good food. Everything at the appartment was great, I would definitely recommend this place.

Great location and lovely apartment

This little apartment perfectly suits for a stay in Paris. Incredible location is just a block or two from two Metro lines. Grocer across the street, fromagerie a few doors down, boulangerie a few doors down. And even a full service market a couple blocks away for more supplies. Two blocks to historic Place des Voges and its park and lovely restaurants. The apartment is equipped enough for light meals and is comfortable. The four stars is largely because the fact that the pull-out sofa is really not an option for a third bed for an adult. Very uncomfortable. We needed three sleeping spaces, so this was really unfortunate. Otherwise, the owner was so great, welcoming and easy to deal with in regards to the reservation. We would stay there again knowing there really are only the two lofts for sleeping accomodations.
