About this property

Horse farm in the Kentucky Bluegrass!

Experience the tradition of Kentucky in the heart of the Bluegrass region at this unique and tranquil getaway. Springhaven Farm is nestled on five private acres with a newly renovated carriage house that features a two-bedroom upstairs apartment with living room, full kitchen, and spacious bathroom. Enjoy scenic views from the balcony that overlooks the horse barn. Feel free to visit the horses or relax on the lower-level patio. Enjoy the BBQ grill, fire pit and seasonal swimming pool.

The space
The living room and dining area, called The Secretariat Room, features soaring 16-foot cathedral ceilings and artwork that honors the great horse. The kitchen, bedrooms, and bathroom all have 10-foot ceilings with 8-foot doors that give the home a southern charm. The bedrooms, called The Claiborne and Calumet Rooms, feature themes based on the two iconic Thoroughbred breeding farms. Books about Secretariat’s life and the history of Claiborne Farm and Calumet Farm are available for your reading pleasure. Each room offers beautiful views of the surrounding horse pastures and hay fields. The outdoor area provides plenty of space for walking and enjoying the fresh air and horses. In the morning, relax with a cup of coffee on the upper balcony as the horses graze in their pastures. During the day, fire up the grill for a cookout and enjoy a swim in the pool. At night, relax around the fire pit and enjoy the captivating view of the night sky and fireflies.
This VRBO is centrally located and is a short 16-minute drive to the Kentucky Horse Park. Historic Georgetown is a quick 15-minute drive. The charming city of Paris, which features the new Secretariat Park and the famous Claiborne Farm, is 15 minutes away. Lexington, known as the Horse Capital of the World, is a 20-minute scenic drive past several famous horse farms, including Spendthrift Farm and Dixiana Farm. Lexington is also known for its unique restaurants. Other attractions, including Keeneland Racecourse, Thoroughbred farm tours, and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail are all conveniently close by.

Other things to note
Welcome to Springhaven Farm. I am Frank, the owner and caretaker of the farm. I reside on the property in the lower level apartment, completely separate from the VRBO unit with a separate entrance. Having a horse farm in the heart of the Bluegrass was my dream, and my vision was to create a warm and welcoming home. I have created a beautiful equine property and I now want to share this with others. I hope my guests will experience the peacefulness of Springhaven, along with a sense of relaxation and renewal. As a host, my goal is to create an atmosphere of privacy, safety, and hospitality. My guests should feel like they are at home living on a horse farm. I hope you enjoy your stay at Springhaven as you experience the wonders of the Bluegrass region!

A gem for horse lovers

Three of us stayed a weekend in April. The surrounding countryside is just beautiful and our stay was peaceful and comfortable. Frank was just the nicest host and made sure everything was ok for us & even gave local restaurant recommendations. He was kind enough to chat with our mom about all things horses. The two horses (soon 3) on the property were so sweet and made the experience even better!

An exceptional place to stay in the country

We arrived during a driving rain storm. Frank, our host, not only checked on us en route for our safety, but made dinner reservations for us and visited with us throughout our stay making sure we had everything we needed. We were able to visit with his two beautiful horses on the property. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful and beautiful

Had an amazing time at the horse farm. Frank was the kindest host who went above and beyond. We had two children with us and they loved being able to pet and brush the horses and watch them run around. We loved having the pool and fire pit.

Quiet private comfortable home near horses!

We loved our stay with Frank. He met us at check in and even helped carry our luggage up the stairs!! He graciously introduced us to his beautiful Saddlebred gelding and the warmblood on the property, talked about his plans for improvement and recommended excellent places to eat. We will definitely be back to stay when we are in the area! Thank you Frank!!

A Picturesque Stay

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful property! Frank was an exceptional host—very communicative and always available to answer any questions we had. The property itself was stunning and perfectly picturesque, with a charming equestrian theme that really added to the ambiance. One of our favorite highlights was seeing the gorgeous horses on the farm; they truly enhanced the overall experience. The surroundings were peaceful, making it a perfect getaway. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing retreat with a unique touch. We can’t wait to return!
