Full garbage can, mice droppings and copperhead snake ruined the experience for my family
I regret to say that our recent stay at this VRBO rental was disappointing. Upon arrival, we were confronted with several unsettling issues: the garbage can in the garage was full, mouse droppings were scattered throughout the house—on kitchen counters, in drawers, and even in the bedsheets. To make matters worse, the house was infested with fruit flies, not only in the kitchen but also in the upstairs bedroom.
Five days after arrival, after two requests for garbage removal and after sending pictures of the mouse droppings, an exterminator was finally scheduled to treat the mouse and fly issues and remove the garbage (which he refused to do).
While attempting to move the trash can outside for the exterminator, we found a copperhead snake coiled underneath. The snake had disappeared by the time the exterminator arrived, but he guessed that it could be anywhere. Given that two of our family members are terrified of snakes and the thought of one potentially dropping from the rafters onto their beds, we decided it was unsafe to stay any longer.
We requested a refund due to these unacceptible conditions. Instead of offering a full refund for the days we were forced to miss, we were simply told that we should have left on the second day if we were unhappy.
Overall, this rental was far below our expectations. The lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service made our stay truly unpleasant. I strongly urge potential renters to reconsider before booking this property.
