Red Hill House 3/2 RETREAT WITH HOT TUB 15 MINUTES FROM IU MEMORIAL STADIUM
Welcome to our rustic cottage! It's far enough out of town to relax and enjoy the serenity of the country, but close enough to all the activities that Bloomington has to offer.
Red Hill House offers a large deck in the back with a hot tub and plenty of room to hang out and enjoy the peace and quiet. The front porch has seating and a gas grill.
You will enter from the back of the house into the well-equipped kitchen dining combo with seating for 10 (dining table sits 6 and the island sits 4). Make your way up the stairs to the main level that consists of the living room, bedroom, and full bathroom.
On the top level is two bedrooms and another full bathroom. All bedrooms have King size beds and smart TV's.
Red Hill House is a perfect country getaway, but located close enough to Bloomington/IU to take in a sporting event, a concert or play at the IU Auditorium, or a nice dinner at several wonderful restaurants.

We had several safety concerns about the property, including loose stairway handrail, extreme variance in heat on 1st & 2nd floors, mice, flickering lights, and several outdoor safety hazards. I contacted the property manager to express our concerns and request a partial refund and received no response. This property is not up to the standards of other VRBO properties where we've stayed. Needs a great deal of work done.

Great Intentions, Not Ready
I can completely see the vision for this and the potential, but it was not at all ready to be rented. I would state that at a minimum it is a home insurance nightmare waiting to happen - open railings from an old deck that used to exist for an above-ground pool, outbuildings packed so full of stuff that the doors can't be closed, old construction material piled up in multiple areas of the property, and a house that smelled so badly of old cigarette smoke that it would immediately send an asthmatic person into a medical emergency. I couldn't sleep through the smell. It was awful. While it had been cleaned at some point, it wasn't near our stay - it was full of cobwebs and spiders at every turn. There was a hottub outside which seemed to be in good working order, but it was miserable to try to sit on the back deck - junk everywhere, uninhabitable outdoor table (full of mildew and not useable). It is also listed as a kid friendly/pet friendly property. It is not at all friendly for either. I would have been really pissed if we would have brought our toddler. I wouldn't have been comfortable with him either inside or outside. We did bring a dog which was not at all ideal either. The stray dogs that wouldn't leave are really beyond the homeowner's control, but it left us feeling completely uneasy about letting our dog out at all. The pictures do an outstanding job of avoiding all of this detail. It can only be realized upon pulling up to the property. We felt completely duped...
