Cozy Goose Rocks Beach Cottage on the Marsh

Welcome to Goose Rocks Beach - 3+ miles of sandy beach, beautiful green marshes teeming with birds and a quiet, laid back atmosphere. Still only minutes from Dock Square in Kennebunkport. The cottage is easily accessed from Route 1A, I-95 and Portland. Enjoy a cup of coffee on one of our decks or stroll to the general store for supplies and then on to the beach. Our 750 sq' cottage is tiny but comfortable for five guests and provides access to one of Maine's most exclusive beach front communities.

In 2018 we completed major renovations on the cottage including panoramic windows overlooking the marsh, three built in "nook" beds in the sleeping loft and a new loft ladder, kitchen, shower and more. In 2020 we added a new Bosch dishwasher, an outdoor hammock, a movable fire pit and central air conditioning. In 2023 we set up a new outdoor foot washing station and Weber charcoal grill.

Perfect Maine experience

We (2 adults) had a wonderful stay at this cottage. The setting is so peaceful while also being a walk or short drive from beach, restaurants and shopping. The views from the windows and outdoor decks are phenomenal. The cottage is spotless and has anything you might need. Highly recommended!

Lovely cabin with amazing marsh views

Beautiful cabin with amazing marsh views. The property itself was very quiet with only one neighbor nearby across the street. I loved the adorable decor, furniture, etc. my kids loved the loft for sleeping. We had an incredible stay here and can’t wait to come back again. The area is fantastic! Perfect family vacation

Beautiful Oasis

Lovely Getaway Cottage

Great place to spend a long weekend. We stayed over Labor Day weekend and enjoyed walking to beautiful Goose Rocks Beach (10 minutes). The views of the marsh from the cottage are sublime and there are lots of bird sightings, so bring your binoculars. We never even turned on the TV. A plethora of excellent dining options just a short drive away, Earth being our favorite of the trip.

Charming hideaway near gooserocks beach

All I can say is the pictures don’d do this property justice. It had huge windows in the living room overlooking the incredibly private wildlife filled marshes this area is known for. We could have sat on the deck looking at this view for days. It is really such a special spot. It is pretty walkable to the beach, particularly if you drop your beach stuff off first. Truly a wonderful getaway.

The location of the house is super. Nice views out to the marsh from inside… even better views from the deck. Great private location. Close walk to the beach. Not far from the iconic rocky coast of Maine and tidal pools. We hope to stay here again.

Magical Place

We loved our week in this delightful cottage. Beautiful views over the marsh and gorgeous light flooding into the large windows at all times of the day. Easy walk to GRB. Definitely would return.

Soul Enriching

My wife and I stayed at this remarkable cottage for four blissful days. The views of the marsh were stunning and we spent much of our time enjoying the magnificent egrets. Kayaking toward the ocean was such a special experience for us. And we made it back to the cottage ahead of the outgoing tide! We have been vacationing in several spots in the southern Maine area but had not found “our place” just yet. Until now.

Fabulous stay at Goose Rocks Beach!

Our family had such a wonderful time at this lovely cottage! The views are absolutely gorgeous! We enjoyed easy access to the beach and stream and kayaked several times during our stay. The cottage is equipped with everything you need- it's the perfect home away from home. Mary's recommedations were also spot on and definitely enhanced our vacation. We hope to return one day! GRB cottage

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage on the marsh. The house has gorgeous views and a lovely backyard, equipped with a fire pit, hammock, and swing - which my kids loved. The home was very comfortable for our family of 4 and well appointed with everything you need during a week stay. The location was excellent. It is about a 7 minute walk to the beach and an easy drive to both Cape Porpoise and Kennebunkport. We would love to come back!

Relaxing stay on the marsh

Our family really enjoyed our stay in GRB. We rented bikes and Kayaks from Kayak Excursions. We loved riding our bikes to the beach and not having to worry about finding parking! We also enjoyed kayaking right off the lower deck at high tide. The cottage was set up very nicely with great amenities like AC, Family games, Apple TV, Propane Grill Etc. Lots of thought and care went into this rental.

A Private Oasis

This property is enchanting. The house has a modern but cozy feel. A great place for bird watchers and nature lovers. We enjoyed sitting on one of the two decks or the porch to watch the tide come in and out of the marsh that surrounds the property. The beach is an easy walk right down the street. The sand is soft and it was never crowded. The whole area is gorgeous and there is lots to do. We explored the town of Kennebunkport and loved the galleries and many restaurants. I'm an artist and often paint outdoors. There was no end to the inspiring views!

Cozy home near a lovely beach

All the amenities in a cozy home with amazing views. Great for morning runs or bike rides. Easy access to beach. They had all the beach toys and chairs for us to use. The trash situation is a little tricky since we had to keep it in the house since the critters get to it in the bins outside. That would be the only downside. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay. Would love to come back.

An ideal getaway at GRB

This was a great cottage for our family. The loft upstairs was fun for our boys and we all enjoyed the big windows downstairs for a peaceful look out to the Marsh. Being that close to goose rocks beach was why we choose the place, and it didn’t disappoint. Mary was the most responsive and kind host I have ever booked with.

Picturesque Views

We loved our stay and found the cottage very cozy and a great location. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Goose Rock beach was a short bike or walk away and so beautiful! Every morning we sat out on the deck and had coffee and watched the cranes and tides go in and out. Really a lovely time! Mary was quick to respond before our stay and during with any questions that I had. Definitely visit the Tides Restaurant by Goose Beach. Our favorite place that we dined at during our stay. 🙂

A wonderful retreat in a beautiful cottage!

We had the most wonderful stay at Goose Rocks beach! The well appointed cottage is a beautiful haven with the most gorgeous views of the Marsh. We loved riding bikes around the neighborhood and our daily walks on the beach. The cottage also provided a wonderful space to do some work with a fabulous internet connection. Our host was so patient and responsive to all my questions. One of the highlights was the nearby restaurant Musette! We just loved every minute and look forward to visiting again! Thank you again.

We are the McNelis family from San Antonio, Texas. With relatives in Kennebunk, we are regulars to the Maine coast in the summer and winter months. My children have grown up at GRB and its our happy place. When we aren't enjoying the cottage ourselves we love to share it with our guests.

Why they chose this property

Goose Rocks Beach is blissful. We love the beach, love the neighbors, love the lobster and the marsh. You can be as active or as lazy as you want and never get tired of the climate and the view. GRB is off the beaten path but has upscale amenities like the chic and delicious Tides Inn, the General Store and the Goose Rocks Community Center which offers tennis and wonderful summer programs for kids and adults alike. And don't miss Goose Rocks Dairly across Rt. 9 - best ice cream in S. Maine!

What makes this property unique

When we bought the cottage we completed major renovations including panoramic windows overlooking the marsh, installing shiplap throughout the interior, and a new loft ladder, kitchen and shower. The beach provides hours of fun for the family and changes with every incoming/outgoing tide. We are only minutes from Kennebunkport and the fabulous restaurants, shopping and ambiance the area has to offer. The cottage is more private than many of the houses in GRB because it is surrounded by 3+ acres of marsh and wetlands. Yet just a short 10 minutes (or less) walk to the beach.
