About this property
Cozy Gnome A-Frame on the Lake with Sauna
The Cozy Gnome A-Frame Cabin provides you with a relaxing and private escape. Dog friendly! Enjoy a quiet and romantic weekend with your significant other as you sit by the fire with the serene lake views and enjoy the sauna. Or have a fun summer getaway with your kids and dog as you jump off the dock into the lake.
Wood fire place, large windows, well-stocked kitchen, main bedroom, loft bedroom, and bathroom.
3 hours from Minneapolis/St. Paul. 45 minutes from Brainerd.
The property is on 1.9 acres and features a private space with lots of trees, southern exposure, and lake access.
Dog friendly! Includes a wood-fired sauna!
Great high-speed WiFi - perfect for working or streaming movies. Note: the cabin does not have a TV, so you will need to bring your own device.
The cabin includes one main bedroom on the first floor with a queen bed and a lofted bedroom with two beds that pull out with a trundle bed to be used as two full beds or four twin beds.
The kitchen is well-stocked with Brita filter, dishes, silverware, cups, wine glasses, cooking utensils, pots and pans, small baking sheet and other baking dishes, coffee maker and grinder, toaster, crock pot, stove, oven, fridge, and microwave.
There is plenty of firewood outside for you to use for free.
The cabin does not have a washer/dryer on site.
Unfortunately trailers cannot be driven on our private road as there is a small bridge, so boats are not allowed. There is a stand up paddle board onsite you can use.
Note: in winter, the private road is sometimes not plowed regularly. Please be prepared with a reliable vehicle (we recommend four wheel drive). We do not live in town to pull you out if you get stuck.
Our charming retreat is nestled at the end of a remote, private road, and meant to offer peace and privacy. Please note that the road is unpaved and single lane, so drive with care as you may encounter wildlife, neighbors, kids, dogs, and other vehicles. Additionally, there is a single lane bridge located on the private road that prohibits RVs, boat trailers, and non-passenger vehicles.
Due to the secluded and remote nature of The Cozy Gnome, a lien/waiver release is required to use the private road to access the cabin. We will send it to you to sign after you book. We also recommend a four-wheel drive vehicle, especially after heavy storms or during winter.
We look forward to welcoming you!

About the host
Hosted by Nathan Manthei

Hi, we’re Tuesday and Nathan Manthei. We live in St. Paul, MN with our goldendoodle Finn and cat Penny. We love to explore new cities and restaurants and have weekend getaways at the cabin.
Why they chose this property
We love the privacy and immersion in nature at the cabin! All in a cozy, private, simple residence with waterfront views and a wooded lot.
What makes this property unique
We've seen bear, deer, lots of waterfowl, turkeys, foxes, and wolves. It's like stepping into nature with all the human creature comforts at your disposal. Plus, we think the A-frame architecture is pretty neat.
