About this property
Unique 4 Bedroom Home overlooking the Grazelema mountains
Our accommodation in Algodonales is on the edge of town, offering stunning views of the Grazelema mountains. It was lovingly built 25 years ago by the chief architect for this area to be his family home and in doing so he created a truly unique property, combining three buildings into one.
The house is called Casa de Algodon (The cotton house) as one of the buildings incorporated was one of the original cotton sorting sheds back when the village was focused on cotton growing. Set over three floors it contains a beautiful entrance hall with double height ceiling and mezzanine floor, dining room, kitchen and four bedrooms (two en-suite). In the courtyard garden, you will find a small swimming pool, hammock, BBQ and dining area.
The property is unlike any other in the village as it seamlessly blends Andalucian and modern features. As soon as you walk in you see traditional Spanish tiles contrasting with a black metal spiral staircase and a warm wood and metal mezzanine floor.
The whole feel of Casa de Algodon is of a light airy house with a warm heart and our aim is for your stay here to feel like it is a home from home.
Although on the edge of the village, it is just a 5 minute walk to the main supermarket (Dia) and to the plaza. In the plaza you will find many bars and restaurants, so if you don’t fancy cooking or BBQing at home it is a short walk to access the heart of the village.
Bedroom one
Located on the ground floor, bedroom one is a large double en-suite room which can be arranged with two twin beds or a superking depending on requirements.
Bedroom Two
Located on the first floor this double room also has the option of being a twin or superking. With large built in wardrobes there is plenty of storage space and the shared bathroom is right next door.
Bedroom Three
A good sized twin room with bunkbeds and plenty of storage.
Bedroom four
The master bedroom is a spacious room with a large en-suite, including both a shower and bath. This room can be arranged as a twin or superking.

About the host
Hosted by Fiona Tryhorn

Originally from England our family has been enjoying the beauty of Andalucian life for the past eight years. As a family we like to travel and personally we like to stay in other peoples homes, as we have found it provides us with a more relaxed and comfortable experience. We have just recently decided to rent out our home and we hope to be able to share with you the beauty of our home region.
Why they chose this property
Algodonales is a special place but no-one can quite seem to be able to explain why, it is just a feeling!
Located in the heart of Andalucia its unique location offers many hiking, paragliding and cycling opportunities right on the doorstep. The village is located at the base of Mogote mountain in the Sierra de Lijar mountain range, which provides stunning views from almost every angle. There is a central Plaza which is the heart of the village full of bars and restaurants and at various locations around the village you will find fresh water fountains fed by underwater springs from the mountain. Algodonales is a place to relax and breathe but it is also full of life and incredibly welcoming.
